Michael laughed immediately, his hearty and slightly harsh laughter filling the room. He scannedMillie from head to toe, his eyes filled with skepticism. “You?” he sarcastically asked.

Millie replied, “Yeah, me.”

He angrily exclaimed, “Are you out of your mind pretending to be M?”

He would rather die than work for her. If he told his friends about this, they would definitely make ajoke

out of him.

Millie was highly amused by his reaction. She stood up and said calmly, “Whether you believe it ornot is entirely your choice. I have only one question for you. Do you want to leave this place?”

Michael was confused and pondered over the meaning of her words.

“I’ll set you free, and you work for me. What do you think?” Millie smiled, seeming more compliant.At that moment, she really didn’t look like M, who had a secret base.

Michael remained silent, carefully observing her expression. He wondered if she was out of hermind or if he was simply dumbfounded. He wondered if Millie was truly serious when she talkedabout releasing him and offering him a job.

“I’m serious.” Millie gazed at him sincerely. She simply needed a reliable bodyguard who couldprotect her

at all costs.

Although she could defend herself, unexpected situations could always arise. If Harriet and Joannawere able to harm her once, they could do it again. Having a bodyguard was always a good idea.

She thought of Michael as ruthless, despite the way he had acted the day before. If he were to workfor her, he would unquestionably be willing to sacrifice his life for her.

Undoubtedly, this stemmed from his deep admiration for her. It was precisely this admiration thatmade her willing to consider him.

“Can you prove that you’re M?” Michael asked.

“Would you like a tour of M Base?” Millie offered, smiling.

Michael was astonished seeing her serious expression. He couldn’t believe that she was truly M.

Millie notified the authorities and took Michael outside, where Marvin was waiting for them. Whenthey walked out the door, he quickly drove up to pick them up.

Millie hopped into the car and asked Michael, “By the way, what’s your name?”

Michael was still handcuffed and unable to escape or harm Millie. Plus, his arm was injured.

After asking, Millie bandaged Michael’s arm with a gauze.

“Michael Brown,” he replied.

Marvin looked back in the rearview mirror and exclaimed, “You’re lucky to have my boss taking careof your injuries.”

Millie wrapped his wounds while he kept staring at her. He remained vigilant until Millie guided himtoward the M base. Upon arrival, a robotic voice greeted her, “Welcome, the great M.”

Michael stopped, causing Millie and Marvin to look at him at the same time. “What’s the matter?”

“You’re really M!” he said with a shaky voice.

Millie chuckled. “Why would I lie to you?”

How ridiculous. He actually abducted M, the person he admired the most. He wondered what hehad done.

Millie pointed inside and said, “Please, come in.”

He followed Millie, who led him into the M base. All the signs indicated that she was, indeed, thefamous great M. She was that mysterious woman. And the instant she turned, Michael bowedsincerely.
