"No way. Why is she calling me?" Josiah, who was in the car, reluctantly grabbed his phone.

At the same time, his grumbling also successfully attracted Xavier's attention. The latter asked, "Who called?"

Josiah frowned while raising his phone toward the backseat. "It's Yulissa! Did you block her number? Why is she looking for me instead of you?"

Xavier slightly furrowed his brows. "I don't have the habit of blocking people's numbers. Pick up her call and see what she's up to."

"All right!" Josiah replied as he put his phone on speaker.

Yulissa's panting voice immediately sounded from the other side of the line, "Where are you now, Josiah? Can you come to Aqua Moana?"

Josiah knew something wasn't right upon hearing her voice. "What happened to you? Did your drug addiction relapse again?"

"It did, but I really don't want to touch drugs anymore. Since you're a doctor, you must have a way, right? Help me, I'm begging you!" Yulissa pleaded. Xavier's brows were tightly locked when he heard Yulissa's words. "Why did you ask Josiah to go to Aqua Moana when your addiction kicked in?"

"Xavier?" Yulissa sounded utterly surprised. "Are you currently with Josiah? No wonder no one opened the door when I rang your house doorbell. I originally wanted to look for you to tell you something, but my drug addiction suddenly relapsed. Where are you two now? Can you tell Josiah to come quickly? I'm currently at the entrance to your house. I feel extremely horrible."

"All right then..." Josiah was dumbfounded. "You should hide first. Don't let the police arrest you before we return."

"That won't happen. No one will know about it. Please hurry back," Yulissa responded.

Josiah hummed in acknowledgment before swiftly ending the call.

The displeased Josiah complained, "Does that woman think of us as a shelter?"

"Let's go back now." Given the current situation, Xavier certainly didn't want Yulissa to meet with a mishap.

Firstly, it was because the woman could still be of use to him.

Secondly, she had taken Winnie's badge, and Xavier had to retrieve it.

"Okay, let's return. I intend to drive you back anyway. I'm your driver for today," Josiah babbled. He then added, "Take it that I'm begging you. Quickly settle that branch family of yours. I'll truly die of fatigue if you continue pretending to be dead."

Xavier scowled. "You don't have to urge me."

I also hope to "rise from the dead" soon. I still need to collect some debts from Dumbo. These emotional debts are very complicated. I'm afraid they can't get settled within a year and a half. I can't possibly sneak around like this for that long!

Thus, before Winnie could walk over, the suspicious black car that Nancy mentioned left the scene.

The black car sped off and was also far away from Winnie. Therefore, she couldn't see the license plate clearly.

On the other hand, Josiah caught a glimpse of the woman's silhouette in the rearview mirror.

He couldn't help but exclaim, "Fortunately, we left earlier. If not, she would have come over and caught you on the spot."

As the car disappeared from her sight, Winnie couldn't refrain from furrowing her brows. "D*mn!" she cursed under her breath.

I can't believe that car just left like that!

Just as she was trying to come up with a solution, she received a phone call instantaneously.

Winnie immediately answered the phone. "What's the matter, Nathaniel?"

Nathaniel responded on the other end, "Vinnie, my dear. Between the report about the progress and a predicament, which of the two do you want to hear first?"

"Tell me about the progress first," Winnie answered. "I prefer handling a predicament at the end."

"All right, miss. The latest progress is that we'll be able to conclude the matter in at most two weeks. By then, Garland Group will belong to us."

"Okay. You didn't lay a hand on the travel and the logistics companies, did you?" Winnie wanted confirmation from Nathaniel again.

She would never want anything that had any connections to drugs.

"Don't worry!" Nathaniel chuckled. "I'll absolutely not touch that if you forbid me."

"What's the predicament you mentioned before?" Winnie inquired.

Nathaniel answered, "It's the other ten percent of the shares, aside from the shares that Hamish and the Garland Group's minority shareholders possess."

"Oh. Are you talking about the ten percent shares that belong to Hamish's wife, Yara?" Winnie questioned.

"Oh, sweetie. You do know everything. From your tone, it doesn't seem to be a predicament to you. Nonetheless, that woman is truly hard to handle. She wouldn't fall into whatever trap we set for her," Nathaniel replied.

"That's for sure." Winnie chortled disdainfully. "She only knows how to seize others' properties and never use her possessions to invest. Since she doesn't invest, she naturally wouldn't walk into our trap. Nevertheless, it's not an issue for me. You can leave it to me."

"All right, I'll wait for your good news then. Anyway, do you want to have lunch together?" Nathaniel suggested.

"I'll pass. I still have my elderly at home waiting for me, so I've to go back," Winnie declined.

"No problem. After we seize Garland Group, we should hold a celebration at the company's staff cafeteria. I heard that the food there is pretty decent."

"Sure," the woman agreed.

"Really? Oh, babe." Nathaniel became thrilled. “Is that a sign that I would be able to see your true appearance soon?"

"Of course!" Winnie exclaimed.

When the time comes, I'll officially seize Garland Group before everyone's eyes and let Hamish have a taste of what it would be like to have his family destroyed and face bankruptcy caused by his closest kin. Meanwhile, at Aqua Moana, Josiah had already given Yulissa an injection and was now packing his medical kit.

They were the only ones in the room since Xavier didn't enter the room from the start.

Therefore, Yulissa tried to get more details from Josiah. "Oh, right. Where did you and Xavier go previously? I thought it was inconvenient for him to go out at the moment?"

Josiah paused whatever he was doing and shot Yulissa a glance. "You can ask him personally. He'll tell you if he's willing to. Otherwise, I'll not say anything if he's reluctant to share with you."

Yulissa was stumped for words and could only grin resignedly. "Can I trouble you to call him in when you leave? I've some important matters to tell him. As you can see, it's very inconvenient for me to go out

too."

To overcome her drug addiction, Yulissa requested Josiah to bind her limbs together despite having received the injection.

Josiah nodded. "Okay. Just a moment."

With that, he carried his medical kit and walked out of the room.

A few minutes later, Xavier expectedly entered the room in a wheelchair.

Xavier couldn't bother to put on a pleasant facade when facing Yulissa. "What do you want to say to me?"

Yulissa's brows knitted together slightly. She stared at the man as she spoke almost inaudibly. "Do you have to stay so far away from me? I barely have the strength to speak. Can you even hear me properly from this distance?"

Xavier's frown grew deeper.

The man then turned around and wheeled himself out wordlessly.
