In fact, Zyon's family was involved in many of the incidents.

Yet, Stuart laid all the blame on Zyon.

Now that Zyon was on the run, Xavier was worried that Zyon would turn into a dangerous time bomb that threatened him and those he cared about.

For that reason, most of his time and energy was spent locating Zyon and taking precautions against the threat he posed. Aside from that, Xavier even had to deal with the employees who betrayed the company.

There was simply no time for him to take the initiative to contact Winnie.

Currently, with the Garland Group's fiftieth-anniversary celebration around the corner, he decided to use this chance to meet Winnie.

At that thought, Xavier was filled with anticipation.

However, if he decided to make time for that night to see Winnie, he would have to deal with a portion of his work early.

"I'll be heading back now, Grandpa. You must stay vigilant and careful as long as Zyon is still on the run."

"Got it." Rufus dismissed Xavier with a wave. "You can carry on with your work. Don't worry about me."

"Okay," Xavier answered and got up.

Perhaps it was because of the abruptness of his movements that he suddenly felt discomfort in his chest. His temples also throbbed as if his brain's veins and nerves had expanded suddenly.

It was not the first time something like this had happened.

Rufus immediately got up and held him after seeing how Xavier seemed unwell.

"What's the matter? Haven't your legs recovered fully? If it can't be helped for the moment, use the wheelchair instead. You merely rested your legs for a month. You shouldn't be forcing yourself, or there would be recurring problems in the future."

"It's not my legs." Xavier, too, had no idea what was the cause of the problem.

He remembered that the first time this vein-popping feeling and untamed madness struck him was when he was in Aqua Moana.

It happened when Winnie brought Christopher back home for a meal. When he saw it, he felt that Winnie was keeping secrets from him. In that split second, anger consumed him, and he was reduced to this frenzied state all of a sudden.

What happened next was a shouting match between him and Winnie. He even forced a kiss on her. At that moment, he was only an inch away from losing control and crossing the line.

Ever since that day, this similar violent feeling would always get the better of him whenever the company encountered any rage-inducing matters.

I didn't run into anything that was infuriating today, so why am I feeling it again?

Xavier could tell something was amiss, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

After leaving the Fairchild residence in haste, Xavier immediately contacted Josiah.

He described his situation to Josiah, and he was suggested to meet him in the hospital immediately.

Without further delay, Xavier quickly went for a blood test in the hospital.

Yet, the result was completely normal. Josiah did not replace anything abnormal in Xavier's blood sample.

"Could it be that your lack of rest caused this because you've been too busy?" Josiah asked tentatively.

"Maybe. I'll get a thorough check-up later when I'm free. Then again, I think I'm feeling it again when you said you found nothing. I can't control myself."

With Xavier's brows scrunching together, he massaged his temples. "What about the hospital's equipment? Are they faulty in any way? Or you mixed up my blood sample with someone else's?" Josiah widened his eyes. "Are you joking? Are you questioning my professionalism? Question me again, and I'll skin you with my scalpel."

Xavier, however, did not bat an eye. Instead, he jokingly threw a punch at Josiah.

On the other hand, Josiah cooperatively wobbled backward and asked solemnly, "Oh. Did you see the news about the Garland Group? Dumbo is really outstanding to be able to get her hands on the Garland Group in such a short time. Hamish was sent to the hospital not long ago. He was retching out blood, and I only learned that this was the doing of Dumbo after some time. I later ran into Dumbo in the hospital the next morning. Just as I thought she was there to visit Hamish, I learned that she was actually there for the password to the safety deposit box. I even had a few words with her, but to be honest, she's not as cute as when she was acting all innocent and silly. It feels like she's a completely different person. But then again..."

Josiah narrowed his eyes as he recalled what he saw that day. "She seems to be much more stunning than before. Back then, when she was still putting up all those acts, she was just someone with a breathtaking appearance but hollow on the inside. Now, she's entirely different. She's emitting a dazzling presence from the core. I don't know if you've seen her like that, but I can only say that she was impressive in every way."

Once Josiah's words fell, Xavier started breathing heavily. He restlessly pulled his tie, and under the attack of the frustration he felt, the words coming out of his mouth were filled with resentment, "Josiah! That is my wife! How dare you bear indecent thoughts toward her!"

Josiah immediately noticed something was amiss, for he saw Xavier's eyes turned scarily red.

"What is wrong with you?" Josiah's brows furrowed, and his tone was serious. "Are you feeling anxious again? Is it the same symptoms as before? Don't worry! I swear that I don't have any feelings for Winnie! I was just talking to you about her like how a normal person would! Take a deep breath and calm yourself down!"

At this moment, Xavier, too, noticed something was wrong with his emotions. He screwed his eyes shut and started taking deep breaths before downing an entire bottle of water and washing his face with cold water. With that, he finally managed to calm himself down.

"Something is wrong with you." Josiah picked up the phone and gave the neurology department a call. "Tell Mr. Grant to keep himself available and wait for me. I'm taking an important patient to him right now." After he hung up the call, Josiah turned toward Xavier. "I need to draw some blood and get you checked again!"

Xavier nodded weakly in return.

At the same time, an undetectable program on his phone was secretly running.

It was Yulissa. She was monitoring Xavier's phone.

Through the program, she switched on the microphone features in Xavier's phone and overheard their conversation loud and clear.

After hearing their conversation, Yulissa couldn't help but laugh at Josiah's futile efforts.

Her grandfather had spent years in developing the drug.

It was a new type of venom, and it was beyond Josiah's capabilities. There was simply no way that he could detect it in a short period.

Even if he managed to detect it, it was useless because even her grandfather did not have the antidote for it!

It seems like Xavier already had a taste of the venom. But what can he even do? I have plenty of them at my disposal, and it's a waste if I only used them on Xavier. I heard Winnie has the spotlight all to herself recently. Hmmm. I probably should inject her with this venom as a gift!

A sneer grew on Yulissa's face upon this thought.

She wondered what would happen to Winnie if she injected all the venom at her disposal into Winnie's body.

In fact, she was planning to use them all during the fiftieth-anniversary celebration of the Garland Group.

It would be very interesting if Winnie lost control of herself when she should be shining bright on the stage, right? Ah... The Garland Group's fiftieth-anniversary celebration. How tempting! Anticipation was written all over Yulissa's face when she envisioned the outcome.
