Sinful Doctor: EPILOGUE

THREE MONTHS LATER

Sitting at the large dinner table, Seb’s hand rests on the swell of my lower stomach. Taylor, Theo and Lucas sit opposite us, Bella and Henry to my right, and Flora, Hallie and Lily sit to Seb’s left.

It’s Flora’s birthday and she wanted to do dinner with all of us. We still see each other once a week for book club, but a few of us are just a little more busier in our lives than others.

Bella is close to dropping, I am three months pregnant, and Taylor is still living her harem dreams.

“Thank you all for coming tonight,” Flora’s eyes sparkle as she looks around the table at her group of friends.

“Of course,” I say, tilting my head to the side when I feel Seb’s fingers trailing dangerously close to the hem of my dress.

My cheeks turn crimson.

“We wouldn’t have missed it for the world,” Bella hums, then leans across and gives Henry a soft kiss on the lips.

“Maybe we needed a single’s table and a couple’s table,” Hallie rolls her eyes.

“Your time will come, babe, I can feel it,” I give her a wink just as Flora looks over at the kitchen, smoke beginning to fill the small, intimate restaurant.

“Oh my God…” she just about manages when the staff run around shouting, “Fire!”

We all push up and Henry scoops Bella into his arms, pushing through to get her out, Taylor is launched over one of the twin’s shoulders and Seb carefully ushers me out.

Once we’re outside Flora throws her hands up in the air.

“I just wanted one night,” she sighs and I wrap my arm around her shoulder.

“I know love, I am really sorry,” I pull her into me just as the fire engine sirens fill the air.

Hallie sulks over and crosses her arms over her chest.

“Let’s just hope and pray that there are some hot firefighters coming,” and Flora giggles.

“There we go, a hot fireman for both of you,” I wiggle my brows as Seb’s arm locks around me and pulls my back into his front.

“As long as you’re not looking at any firefighters, Red.”

“Of course not, baby, I don’t need anyone else apart from you.” My hand rests on his cheek as I twist and give him a kiss on the lips.

We all turn as the fire engine curbs the pavement and watch one by one as the firefighters fall out.

Hallie is watching, eyes fixated on one in particular and when he steps towards the building, his eyes land on her.

But this isn’t love at first sight.

No, this is pure hate.

And then it dawns on me.

It’s her step-brother, Silas.
