Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce!
Chapter 816 Madeline Was Stopped From Revealing Sydney's Biological Parents

The reason Hunter fell in love with Sydney, besides Sydney's kindness, was that he saw the sparkle in Madeline's eyes.

In the past, Sydney loved Julien, but she was hurt by the guy and ended up in divorce.

In the upper class, so many women were hurt by men. Many women were more miserable than Sydney.

Most women were depressed after they got hurt. Some of them even committed suicide.

But Sydney was different. She quickly collected herself and moved forward with her life.

Her eyes still sparkled. She didn't give up on herself or become depressed. She took over the shattered Skylight with resolution and expanded its business.

Sydney didn't confine herself to one thing or be obsessed with one man.

Even though she got hurt, she could collect herself and move on. She wouldn't give up on herself.

Neither a relationship nor Julien was the most important thing to her. She would not give up her life for anything.

Instead, she could quickly give up on the person who broke her heart and live a better life.

It sounded simple, but few people could do that.

Hunter believed that even though Sydney was not hurt by Julien but was also a puppet of her family as they were, she would not give in to her family like everyone else and she would be able to make her own choices because she was a resolute woman and she always knew what she wanted and she had the courage.

Other rich kids, however, not only didn't have the courage, but they followed the wishes of their families and grew up to be the people they hated when they were younger.

It was Sydney's resolution and the sparkle in her eyes that interested Hunter and got him to fall in love with her later.

Now, hearing Sydney's plans for her future, he found himself crazy about her.

Sensing Hunter's burning gaze, Sydney frowned, "What's wrong?"

Hunter lowered his eyelids to hide the desire in his eyes and shook his head, "Nothing. I just thought of something."

"All right," Sydney nodded. She didn't ask any more questions.

Hunter was upset, "Why don't you ask me what comes to my mind?"

Sydney shook her head, "Not really. Everyone has secrets, and I'm not interested in yours."

The bottom line was that she wasn't interested in what he was thinking.

There was nothing between them. They were just friends. Sydney felt it was rude to ask about others' secrets. Understanding that Sydney wasn't interested, Hunter shrugged his shoulders, "Okay." He didn't really want to tell her.

Hunter was afraid that if he told Sydney about it, she would be freaked out.

And Hunter needed to calm down and collect himself.

Hunter had already decided to give up on Sydney, but he had just been charmed by her again and he didn't want to give her up. Hunter knew he shouldn't feel like that, so he wanted to calm himself down. He didn't want to do anything he would regret.

Hunter was silent, and so was Sydney. They waited quietly for the trial to begin.

After almost ten minutes, the jury arrived and the judge called the trial to order.

The outcome of the trial was for sure. The evidence was overwhelming, Madeline had slandered the country and Sydney's reputation. She said it herself on the live stream. She couldn't deny it.

In the end, Madeline was sentenced to six months in prison. She might have a chance to reduce her time in jail.

Six months in prison was not a severe sentence, but Madeline didn't want to go to jail.

When she heard she had been sentenced to six months in jail, she panicked and screamed for an appeal.

The judge granted Madeline's request for an appeal. She had the right to appeal.

But everyone knew that even if Madeline appealed, the outcome of the trial wouldn't change, so Sydney wasn't worried.

Madeline was no fool. She calmed down after making a fury. She also knew the outcome of the trial wouldn't change. She was dumbfounded. Her eyes were lax, with no expression in them. She looked like a ghost.

Sydney glanced at Madeline. She had no sympathy for Madeline. Sydney got up and was about to leave.

Sydney didn't want to waste her time there. She would attend the second trial.

Hunter looked at Madeline for a moment. Then he got up and followed Sydney.

The two had to pass by Madeline.

Seeing Sydney walk straight forward, ignoring her, Madeline became angry. Her eyes became fierce. Then she thought of something and put on a grim smile on her face. She shouted at Sydney's back, "Sydney, do you know who your real parents are?"

Sydney immediately stopped in her tracks. She snapped her head around and stared at Madeline, "What were you saying?"

Seeing Sydney stop, Madeline laughed even more hysterically. In a wicked tone, she said, "I know who your real parents are, and you must be surprised to learn that they are..."

Before Madeline could finish her sentence, a bailiff covered her mouth. "Shut up! It's time to withdraw from the court. You must come back to the detention center with us immediately! Come on!" The bailiff gave a look to another bailiff.

The other bailiff nodded and led Madeline out at a fast pace.

The two bailiffs were panicking, but they needed to put on a serious face.

They were afraid that Sydney would notice something.

They blamed it on Madeline.

They were told not to let Madeline say anything about Sydney's biological parents.

Just now, due to their negligence, Madeline almost said it.

Although they stopped Madeline just in time, they intervened at an odd time and Sydney might suspect that they did it on purpose.

They secretly hoped Sydney wouldn't get suspicious. As for the rest, there was nothing they could do.

Watching Madeline being taken away, her eyes bloodshot and her face contorted in anger, Sydney frowned, "The bailiffs seem to have deliberately prevented Madeline from telling me who my biological parents are."

Hunter's eyes flickered and he smiled, "How can it be? You don't understand the procedure here. After the trial, the prisoner has to be taken away immediately to avoid the plaintiff acting out of anger. That's the job of the bailiffs. They had to take Madeline away as soon as possible."

"Really?" Sydney raised her eyebrows and looked at Hunter with disbelief.

Hunter nodded with a serious look on his face, "Of course!"

Sydney bit her lower lip. She seemed to be pondering whether his words were believable or not.

After a moment, Sydney smiled, "Maybe you're right. The bailiffs don't know Madeline or me, and they have no reason to stop Madeline.

Hunter forced a smile. He didn't say anything. He was nervous inside.
