Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 834 Sydney Learned About Sean's Pregnancy
"Yes, we got the right sperm. But how did you know about that?" Sydney tossed her hair as she asked.
Finn kept swirling the scalpel in his hand and answered, "Hunter told me about it. He called me last night and asked me to be ready to preserve the sperm."
"So that's it." Sydney laughed softly, "He told you about it before I did." She was amused.
Finn put the scalpel down, pushed the gold-rimmed glasses upward, and said, "That guy sounded so proud when he told me about it. I don't think he has to feel so good about himself!" Sydney bursts out laughing.
Finn put his hand down, "Okay. Forget about him. I'm calling to make sure whether you've really found the right sperm. If that's true, I'll have the freezing equipment ready to go." "Yes. Thank you." Sydney said.
Finn responded, "That's okay. It's just a piece of cake for me. Just let me know in advance."
"Of course! You're the director of the hospital." Sydney teased.
Finn gave a faint smile, "By the way, there's something else I want to tell you."
"What is it?" Sydney took a bite of her porridge.
Finn looked at the pregnancy test report on the desk and answered, "Your secretary came to the hospital yesterday for a checkup."
Sydney froze, "You mean Sean?"
"The patient's name is Sean," Finn confirmed as he looked at the name on the chart.
Sydney instantly tensed up, and she hurriedly asked, "What's wrong with her? Is she sick?"
"No." Finn shook his head slightly, "She went to the OB/GYN for a checkup. Do you understand?"
'OB/GYN?'
Sydney was surprised.
When Sydney was first pregnant, she went to the OB/GYN.
'That means...'
Sydney's mouth dropped open in shock. "Is she pregnant?"
"That's right." Finn nodded, "It has been two months."
"How... How is that possible!" Sydney's voice pitched in shock.
'Sean's pregnant? And it's been two months?'
Immediately, Sydney remembered Sean's heaving symptoms in her office a few days ago.
Sydney was worried that Sean was sick then. She had suggested that Sean go to the infirmary to see a doctor, but Sean refused in panic and said she just had a bad meal. Sydney hadn't paid much attention
to it at the time. But now that she thought about it, she guessed that Sean knew she was pregnant then, so she refused to see a doctor. She didn't want anyone to know she was pregnant.
'But why did she want to keep it a secret?
'Maybe she didn't want the father of the baby know about it.
'Otherwise, Sean doesn't have to hide it. She's an adult, and it's a normal thing to be pregnant.
'However, Sean kept it a secret. She doesn't have a boyfriend, and she's not married, but she's pregnant. Then it must be because of the father of the baby...
'Who is the father of the baby...'
Sydney bit her lower lip and had an idea in her mind.
Thinking about the subtle atmosphere between Sean and Luke, Luke's recently developed bad attitude towards Sean, and the strange way Sean acted when Sydney mentioned Luke, Sydney guessed that Luke was the father.
Sydney rubbed her temples and asked, "Is the baby healthy?"
Finn picked up the test report on the table and looked through it, "The baby is healthy, but the mother has too much on her mind, so she's not very well. This is not good if she keeps being so."
It was none of Finn's business whether the woman was pregnant or not. Finn told Sydney about it because Sean was Sydney's secretary and she had been faithful to Sydney. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to the OB/GYN to check her test report.
Hearing that Sean was not well, Sydney frowned with worry.
Just as she was about to say something, Finn put down the test report and continued, "And she seems to want to abort the baby. She asked the doctor about it yesterday."
"What? She wants to abort the baby?" Sydney's eyes widened and her face turned pale.
Finn nodded, "Yes, she's thinking about it, but she hasn't decided yet. She said she needed to think about it, but I guess she'll probably do it."
Sydney's heart sank. Her grip on the phone tightened. "I see. Thank you for telling me that."
"It's OK. I thought you'd care about it, so I looked it up." Finn shrugged and said in a careless voice.
Sydney smiled. She knew Finn wouldn't have paid any attention to Sean if she was not her secretary.
"Okay. That's all. I have to perform a surgery later. I have to go." Finn said as he glanced at the time at the bottom corner of his computer screen. He then sat up straight and looked less slouched. Sydney responded, "Okay. Go ahead. Let's go to dinner together when it's convenient for you."
"OK. I'll wait for your call." Finn had a faint smile as he pushed his glasses upward the bridge of his nose.
Hanging up the phone, Sydney clutched her phone tightly, a complicated look on her face.
She was shocked at the news Finn had told her.
'Sean is pregnant, and Luke could be the father.
'Uh...
'Does Luke know about it?'
Sydney looked down at her phone, found out Luke's number, and was about to call him to ask what was going on between him and Sean and if he was the father of Sean's baby.
But as she was about to dial the number, something occurred to her, and she hesitated.
'No, I can't call Luke, at least not now!
'Sean hadn't told anyone she was pregnant. She wanted to keep it a secret. If I tell Luke about it, I'll be betraying Sean.
'And it's Sean's personal business. Even if Luke is the father, it should be Sean's to tell the father. How could I reveal it?' Then Sydney put the phone down, but she was concerned about it.
Since she couldn't ask Luke about it, she decided to ask Sean.
Sean shouldn't hide it from her anymore, so Sydney sent Sean a message.
Surprisingly, Sean replied quickly, "Ms. Raines, what's up?"
Sydney stared at the screen for a moment and then entered, "Can you come meet me now? I want to talk to you."
Sean was having breakfast at the dining table eating breakfast. When she saw Sydney's message, she had a sinking feeling, and her heart pounded as if her secret had been discovered. Her heart beat faster. She put down her fork. After thinking about it for a moment, she replied, "Ms. Raines, what do you want to talk to me about?"
Sydney had a wry smile, 'She's alert.'
She shook her head and replied, "Some work stuff."
Sydney didn't want to tell Sean that she wanted to talk to her about the pregnancy because she knew that if Sean knew that was what she wanted to talk about, Sean would replace a reason to turn her down.
