Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 872 A Crisp Slap
Fear, anxiety, and guilt all might have contributed to Greta's current poor mental health.
But Greta deserved it, in Sydney's opinion.
"Ms. Raines, Mr. Flint," those police officers who were interrogating Greta stopped and greeted them, seeing them stepping in. In response, Julien muttered.
Sydney, on the other hand, was more courteous. She said "hi" while grinning.
Greta quickly lifted her head and fixed her gaze directly at Sydney after hearing her voice. Greta gave her a malicious look.
Seeing this, Julien was about to explode.
Sydney comforted him by squeezing his hand. She then moved to approach Greta.
But as soon as she took the first step, Julien grabbed her hand. "Don't. She may hurt you."
"Don't worry," Sydney said as she turned back to Julien. "We are in the police station. She won't dare. Besides, she can only rely on the wheelchair; she poses no threat." Sydney had confidence in this regard.
Although incomparable to a man, she was strong among most women.
She could even win the fight against Madeline, let alone Greta, who couldn't even stand up without support.
If Sydney got the chance to practice professional boxing, she might be able to fight men.
Feeling Sydney's confidence, Julien chose to believe her. He released her. "Be careful."
Julien was concerned that Sydney would still sustain injuries if Greta launched a sneak attack.
Sydney felt warm as she observed Julien's worried expression and smiled, "I will. I'm counting on you to keep an eye on me. You won't allow me to get hurt, will you?" "No, I won't," Julien grinned.
"Your word is enough to keep me going," Sydney smiled before turning around and walking towards Greta.
Julien watched her closely for any potential threats as his eyebrows knitted together.
Those police officers standing aside had mixed feelings as they watched their whispers of love.
'Can you guys behave a bit?'
'We're having interrogation in the police station! It's not a time for dating.'
They did not, however, say it out loud.
Sydney finally approached Greta with Julien's uneasy gaze.
Greta's hands in handcuffs were on her lap. Sydney's approaching made her clench her fists tighter, and the blood vessels on the back of her hands became more noticeable. Greta was clearly filled with intense fury and hatred.
Greta's fists and resentful eyes caught Sydney's attention. Sydney sneered, "Do you hate me?"
Greta made herself clear by biting her lips and remaining silent.
She admitted it in silence. Yes, she hated Sydney.
Sydney abruptly slapped Greta after scoffing at her, shocking everyone else.
These policemen kept an unbelievable eye on them.
'What a crisp slap!'
Greta's head was stroked to one side due to inertia.
Greta was overwhelmed. She covered her face while her eyes were wide open. Her face lost color.
Greta wasn't the only one taken off guard by Sydney. Everyone else was.
For quite a while, no one talked in the interrogation room. One could hear a pin drop.
No one expected Sydney to hit Greta directly.
Julien was the first to act in shock.
He smiled as soon as he recovered from shock.
And then he walked towards Sydney.
Sydney bowed her head and rubbed her wrist following the slap.
She used all of her strength to give Greta a very harsh slap.
Her wrist essentially became numb as a result.
Julien noticed Sydney's wrist. He put his smile on hold and said, "Let me see."
Sydney stopped rubbing her hands and followed Julien's voice. "Why did you come?"
"Let me check if you were hurt." Julien replied while extending her hand to check. Sydney giggled, "How could I possibly be hurt? I initiated the strike."
'Of course!'
Those police officers recovered themselves and heard their conversation.
They were wordless to Julien.
But thank God, Sydney was reasonable.
It was Sydney who attacked Greta, but Julien only cared for Sydney.
How could it be possible that Sydney might suffer harm?
Greta, on the other hand, was still hiding her face from shock.
Julien had no idea how those policemen felt about him.
Even if he noticed, he wouldn't care.
He only cared for Sydney.
Sydney's palm was red when Julien opened it.
Julien looked terrible, which made Sydney confused. She asked, "Why?"
'Was it because I overreacted?' thought Sydney.
Julien gently rubbed Sydney's palm and responded, "Not hurt? Your palm has already turned red!"
Sydney couldn't say a word facing Julien's excessive care.
The police officers couldn't take this any longer.
They saw Julien's anger, too. They had the same question as Sydney did, wondering if there were serious consequences.
No one expected such an answer.
'How ridiculous it was!'
'Was it a big issue that Sydney's palm turned red?'
However, police officers restrained their impulse to leave immediately and somehow managed a smile.
If it weren't for Julien's position, they would have kicked him out. He had surprised them far too frequently.
Sydney responded after taking a deep breath, "It's natural. It follows the law of mechanics. It has nothing special about it."
Julien kept asking, "You must feel hurt for slapping her so hard, don't you?"
Sydney was unable to dispute the truth of that.
As she had explained, in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. Sydney struck Greta so hard that she felt pain in both her wrist and hand.
So hard that she rubbed her wrist subconsciously after the slapping.
Julien gave Sydney a little kiss on the palm upon her nodding. "You don't need to hit people by yourself. Ask my men to do it for you, in case you get hurt. It is worth it, especially to such a bitch. If there are no helpers, using a tool will be better than your hands."
What followed Julien's remarks was another interval of silence in the interrogation room.
Julien was like a monster in the police officers' minds.
'Mr. Flint, seriously?'
'Not saying no to Ms. Raines for being violent, but encouraging her to ask someone else to do it instead? And curse the victim?'
'Does Mr. Flint even aware he is in the police station in front of a group of police officers?'
Again, despite feeling challenged, those police officers made no comments.
