Slumdog Billionaire Husband -
Chapter 428
Chapter 428 Conflict
They walked along the deck towards the island.
On the ship aside, Scar led a group down from the deck. None of them were carrying weapons.
Few places allowed people to be armed outside Sin City.
This was the place where pirates lived. Too many weapons might cause some conflict.
The captain of Gerald's ship took the lead. When he reached the shore, quite a few people stood there, dressed in rags. Their skin was very dark and should have been exposed to sunlight and rain for a long time.
What surprised Gerald most was that they all had guns hanging on their chests. The captain walked to the front and communicated with the people there with words Gerald had never heard before.
Gerald estimated that there were about a hundred people at the port.
When Jolie saw these pirates, she said in fear, "Can... I stay on the ship?"
Gerald nodded and said, "Alright. Stay on the top floor with Milo. Don't go anywhere else."
Milo was not interested and did not come down. He only wanted to arrive in Europe as soon as possible and took revenge on Perrin.
The people at the port were unashamedly sizing up Valery and the others standing on the deck.
Valery, Carolyn, and Belinda all looked dazzlingly beautiful. Moreover, their skin was so flawless that these weather-beaten pirates had never seen it.
Many locals even whistled at them.
Belinda could not stand being treated this way. No one dared to tease her in Sin City. Therefore, she asked coldly, "Can I kill them?"
Theo and the others were shocked. Though armed, most pirates were ordinary people and could not be Belinda's match.
The locals would not let Gerald's team go easily if a conflict occurred here. After all, they stopped here to get supplies and did not want to waste too much time here.
Theo quickly said, "My dear Belinda, that's where you are wrong. They whistled at you because of your beauty. People often tease girls like you and even want to friend you on Line. What if you go outside in the future? Are you going to kill hundreds of people in a day?"
There was nothing wrong with what he said. Any woman would be delighted to hear it.
But the way he addressed her made Belinda roll her eyes.
"I think I need to beat you first before dealing with them," Belinda said with a dark face.
Gerald smiled when he saw their banter.
Over the past few days, he could see that Belinda was trying her best to get along with their team. Instead, Milo still spoke very little.
They stood there and waited. Soon, the captain came over and said, "They agreed. Let's go ashore!"
Gerald nodded. They got off the ship and walked onto the island. After they landed on the ground, Theo narrowed his eyes and said, "It's so comfortable!"
A few men were closing in on them. They surrounded Valery, Belinda, Carolyn, and Kristen while chattering about something.
One of the locals reached out his hand to touch Kristen.
The girls were already a little unhappy that they were surrounded by these locals. That man's action annoyed Kristen, whose eyes suddenly turned cold. She grabbed the wrist of that man and twisted his arm. Instantly, that man cried out and fell to his knees.
"Blah, blah, blah..."
These pirates seemed to be irritated by Kristen's reaction and the scream. Several people raised their guns in response.
Gerald frowned.
He did not want any trouble, but troubles did not seem to let go of him.
He threw a cold stare at one of the coordinators at the port.
This guy looked extremely strong with tanned skin. Instead of stopping them, he watched this scene with great interest. His gaze also fell upon Valery and the others.
At this time, the captain of Gerald's ship frowned. He walked to that strong man and said something.
The man frowned afterward. He rushed to the crowd and shouted at them.
Then the locals around Gerald left unwillingly.
"What did you say to him?" Gerald asked, frowning.
"I threatened them that I would not buy their goods if they kept doing this," the captain said. "He compromised on the money."
Money meant a lot in the real world. It could be used to buy weapons and food...
"These bastards!" Kristen snorted and threw the man on the ground.
Meanwhile, the captain said, "Everyone, come with me!"
They followed the swarthy man through the crowd and walked inside the island. With Scar's team, there were about a hundred people in total.
After walking for a while, Carolyn suddenly patted Gerald on the shoulder and said, "Look over there!"
Gerald looked in the direction Carolyn pointed out. Then, he was slightly stunned. Another luxury cruise ship came into their sight. On that deck, some armed men in pirate clothes were patrolling. "This is..." Gerald frowned and said, "Those pirates raided that ship?"
"It's hard to tell," Theo uttered. "But if it is raided, we can take some action."
Gerald nodded.
Although they were not Watchmen now, they could not stand by and watch when a ship was raided.
"Let's see how it goes. Perhaps the people on that ship are making a deal with the locals. The cruise ship might be a cover," Claude said.
As they spoke, they walked through the town. The roads here were unpaved, and the buildings on both sides looked shabby and were barely enough for people to live in.
Gerald's team seemed out of place here. Their clothes were completely different from the locals. On the way, many people looked at these foreigners curiously.
Gerald sensed brutality in the people here, especially the men. This kind of vibe could only be cultivated on the battlefield.
He couldn't help but walk forward and ask the captain, "Are they just pirates?"
The captain of this ship was an Asian called Gabriel Hatch. He was one of the Lightbringers. He shook his head when he heard Gerald's question. "I don't know much, and I rarely come to this island to replenish my supplies."
Gerald nodded and said, "Where are we going now?"
"To negotiate with their boss!" Gabriel said, "Are your bank cards ready?"
Gerald nodded and said, "Yes, they are ready."
As they talked, they reached the top of the town. The houses there were much better than the ones below and looked like a big beach manor.
At the gate, there were a few bare-chested people with guns in their Inside the manor, people stood in twos and threes, playing games. arms. They sat there, smoking.
When Gerald and the others walked in, some people showed a trace of interest on their faces.
After passing through many corridors and corners, they arrived at a well-decorated hall.
In sharp contrast to the dilapidated houses outside, there were fewer people and less noise.
"Fuck, these pirates really know how to enjoy themselves." Theo looked around.
"What are you looking at?" Claude asked.
"I want to see how beautiful the boss' wife could be," Theo said with a smile.
At this time, they turned a corner and went to the other side of the hall. When they saw the scene inside, Gerald's lips curled up slightly.
