Olivia didn’t know what to say to Caleb, maybe he had gone too far with his comment. She didn’t think they were trusting enough for her to accuse him like that, but he had had enough of her bullying too.

-Nothing, forget it. You’d better tell me if you want me to get you something.

-Sit down.

-I’m on duty, how do you think I’m going to sit with a customer, I remind you that I’m not that kind of person.

-We’ll talk business.

-As if they weren’t talking business with them,” she replies wryly.

Caleb watches her for a moment, seeming determined not to sit in the chair with him.

-Olivia, sit down.

-I said no, and if you’re not going to ask for anything, then I’ll go work downstairs.

But just as she’s about to slip away, Caleb closes his hand on her forearm and holds her back as she stands up. The CEO imposes his presence on Olivia, who immediately freezes.

-You will sit down.” That sounded very much like an order, and the brunette didn’t like it.

-See, I’m not going to take orders from you.

She tried slyly to get out of his grip, the last thing she wanted was to make a spectacle of herself in such a luxurious place. As she tries a little harder to break free, the notebook falls from her hands.

-You’re making this more difficult. I don’t understand why you want me to work for you, I told you I don’t want to.

-And I don’t want you to work here.

Those words made Olivia’s heart race, good heavens, what was the man up to with all his arrogant gallantry.

At last, Olivia managed to break free of Caleb’s hand and bent down to pick up the notebook, but as she did so, the sound of ripping cloth alarmed her completely. The brunette stood exactly as she was, not knowing how serious the matter was.

She was the only one who had such embarrassing things happen to her around that man, she was a magnet for bad luck. Whenever she was next to him, something horrible happened. She closed her eyes, trying to search her mind for a solution to get up and go down to the dressing room without anyone seeing her a*s. And just that night she had put on a damn tiny thong.

Suddenly she felt something fall on her shoulders, which made her open her eyes and look over her shoulders. It was a sack.

-She looks at Caleb’s hand, and decides to take it.

-Thank you,” she says, lowering the jacket to her waist. I’m sorry I have to wrinkle it, but it’s just….

-It’s too tight a dress, and I don’t think it’s your size.

-She looks at him as she remembers that she had bought a dress for which she was fired.

-Let’s say yes,” she smiles openly at him.

She didn’t want to smile, but it was inevitable not to with this man. He was the personification of bad luck, and in order not to cry over her misfortune, it was best to smile. He was bare-assed, he could tell exactly, as the cold of the place reached his buttocks.

-I think it’s a mess, I doubt it can be helped.

-The truth is, it’s not, the whole zip is f****d,” she looks up to see him.

-I have to go to the locker room.

-Okay.

-I… well, I’ll have to take his jacket for a while. I promise I’ll give it back to you as soon as I get upstairs.

-As you like, no problem. -I’ll be waiting for you. I’ll be waiting for you.

She bites her upper l*p, and with a little embarrassment walks towards the stairs. She wasn’t sure of herself, she was showing off her body, and since this guy wouldn’t take his eyes off her, the more insecure she felt.

Caleb put both hands in his pockets as he watched Olivia walk away, one part of him making sure she wasn’t showing anything. And the other, well; he just didn’t want to stop seeing her.

Then he remembered the damage to that dress, it was amazing how she’d torn it apart. How she had worn such a tight fit, besides; he didn’t like her wearing it at all. It showed too much.

She sits back in her chair and thinks for a moment about Olivia, that job was not for her….

[…]

-Damn, f*****g shitty dress,” she mumbles, taking the garment off to detail the damage. F**k, the whole zip’s gone, even the fabric ripped.

She finishes getting dressed to get ready to go out and tell her boss about the problem, when he enters the dressing room without even knocking on the door. Which scares the hell out of her.

-What are you doing in here dressed like that?

-Didn’t they teach you how to knock? This is the girls’ locker room, you can’t just barge in like that.

-Girl, I’ve seen better asses than yours. So don’t be a saint, tell me what you’re doing here.

-Her stupid dress ripped as soon as I bent down, I told her it wasn’t my size.

-You tore the uniform?! -He asks, picking up the garment. But how is that possible?

-I told him, it wasn’t my size.

-Did you take care of Mr. Palmer properly? You should at least have done something right.

-Well, it was in Mr. Palmer’s company that her stupid dress was torn. You can’t imagine the embarrassment he put me through.

-Are you blaming me?

-Of course I am.” She folds her arms.

-You’re fired, and don’t think I’m going to pay you back for these five days of work. I’ll take that money to replace this dress you’ve ruined.

-I ask you to leave my establishment.

-Don’t worry, I won’t stay in this place a minute longer.

She picks up her things and leaves the dressing room in a rage, all that time wasted, I would have spent it on something else. But no, I’m giving away your money on a filthy dress. She was so bad.

[…]

Caleb looked at his watch every few minutes, it was strange that she didn’t come back upstairs. He told her he’d give her back the bag, though he didn’t mind her going upstairs for that. It was more to see her, but with the time she had been gone, it was obvious she wasn’t going upstairs.

The CEO gets to his feet and decides to go for her… he seeks directly to speak to the owner, who answers him immediately.

-Mr Palmer, I’m very sorry for the inconvenience with the waitress you requested. But she was a novice and didn’t know much, but I’ve solved that problem. If you want another girl, I’ll send her to your table at once.

-What do you mean by that? What happened to the girl who waited on me?

-I fired her, she’s a mess, she tore her dress,” the man denies. But she doesn’t work in this place anymore, now if you like?

-Where is the young lady?

The question surprised the owner, who remained silent for a second and then answered him.

-She left half an hour ago, Mr. Palmer.

She had left without saying a word to him, but she knew he would be waiting for her. Then she looks at the owner, unless the guy had kicked her out of the place the hard way. Caleb frowns as he looks at him closely.

-You kicked her out of here the hard way?

-Well, it’s the least she deserved, she’s a back talker, and she’s treated him badly. I can’t have that kind of woman working here. Apart from that, I blame myself for tearing the dress.

-If you had given her a bigger size, that inconvenience wouldn’t have happened,” he says in a threatening tone.

-But Mr. Palmer, she….

-You’ve lost your best customer.

Caleb turns and walks out into the crowd of people. He was sparking all over the place, Olivia was out of a job again and he felt responsible for it.

At that his bodyguard approaches him as he sees him leaving the club….

-Did you see the young lady I met when it was raining a few days before?

-Yes, sir, she went that way.

The CEO didn’t think twice, got into his car and drove fast down that road. He hoped to replace her, as it was already too late for her to be out there alone. If anything bad happened to her, he would not forgive her.
