Olivia stands up, she was going to trust Alma. She wasn’t sure she would, but she had no choice.

Just then, they both heard the door had been opened. Olivia’s heart skipped a beat, and she immediately ran back into the bathroom and locked herself in.

Alma was petrified, and acted as if nothing had happened. She looked at her dad and sister with a slightly fake smile.

At that moment, Caleb came out of the principal’s office and quickly caught up with his daughter, who was not sitting down. He looks at her face, and senses that something is not right with her.

-What’s wrong, daughter?

-Nothing,” he answers quickly.

-Let’s go home,” he orders his daughter, but not very convinced of the blonde’s response.

However, that was the least of his problems. Talia was the biggest problem, the meeting had been because his daughter had hit a classmate, it was unbelievable that she had done such a thing. If she didn’t behave, she was going to be expelled from school.

Again…

It would be the third school she’d been pulled out of, she didn’t want to do that anymore. Alma always cried every time she was changed schools, it wasn’t fair to her.

-Are you going to change our school, Dad? -asked the youngest girl.

-I hope not, we’re counting on your sister to behave like the young lady she is.

-It wasn’t my fault, I told you that.

-I don’t want to listen to you, it’s enough what the headmistress told me.

The CEO reprimands his daughter, and that’s when he notices that the secretary wasn’t there either. The director gave him a document to leave with her, but she wasn’t there to give it to him.

-Where is the secretary?

-Daddy, we’re going home. I have a lot of homework,” Alma pulls her father’s bag insistently.

-Wait, daughter, I have to leave this for her….

-For God’s sake, Father, just leave it on his desk,” the teenager takes the paper from him and leaves it on the desk. I want to go now.

Talia leaves the office and Caleb watches her wondering, what was she going to do with that girl?

Both father and youngest daughter leave the office, while Olivia listens in from behind the door. Her heart was beating frantically, she couldn’t have these scares, they were going to kill her one day.

Opening the door, she went to her desk and looked over the sheet Caleb had left for her. It was a warning for Talia, for the black book.

-That girl, she’s so misunderstood.

With no choice but to file the document in the student’s file. Then he sits back in his chair and lets out his breath. What the hell was he going to do if Talia got in trouble again? She was going to have to see her father, she couldn’t hide for life.

[…]

-It’s unbelievable that you would do something like that, Talia. You’re not like that, it’s not right to go through life hitting people.

-I told you why I hit her, that brat messed with my mum. I wasn’t going to let her…

-What? You know very well that your mother left and abandoned them, it’s no secret to you what she did,” The blonde remains silent. I’m getting tired of this, and you’re forcing me to take drastic measures.

-What, you’re sending me to a convent? -Caleb looks up and sees her.

-I’m thinking of sending you to boarding school, Talia. If your temper doesn’t improve, I’ll send you to one, one for girls, where you’ll get a good education.

The blonde blanched at her father’s warning, not believing his words. He never spoke to them about boarding schools, he never agreed with them being so far away, and the fact that he would talk about sending them both to one told her that he was furious and wanted to get rid of his daughters.

-Are you going to send us to boarding school? -The eldest daughter glares at him, and he looks only at her.

-Only you… Alma will stay.” The little girl looks at her sister sadly. You must behave, if you don’t, I’ll send you to England.

-You wouldn’t be able to.

-Don’t tempt me, young lady… take us to the house,” she orders the chauffeur.

Talia steps back and looks out the window, she was so angry. She was just defending her mother, and all her father was doing was thinking about sending her away to boarding school. Away from everyone.

It wasn’t an idle warning, ever since the last prank he played on Olivia, Caleb had seriously thought about sending her to a nice boarding school for girls. Sure, he didn’t want to be away from his daughter, but Talia was out of control.

Resting his chin on the palm of his hand, he was seriously thinking that his daughters needed a female figure in their lives, something like a surrogate mother, a friend, someone to talk through their problems with, since he didn’t count as a dry cloth.

And well, he didn’t really know how to do that either… he was a failure as a father, he couldn’t really have any more children. It would be a complete mistake to bring more children into the world.

But the idea of a mother… no, what was he saying? To replace a mother for his daughters, he needed to marry that person. And he wasn’t willing to go through that again, unless it was all under contract, but then, what kind of life would his daughters lead with a contract mother?

No, what he was thinking was nonsense?

At that his thoughts went straight to Olivia, why was he thinking of her at this very moment?

Her as a surrogate mother for his daughters?

Now that was insanity, Talia hated her, at least Alma had changed her ideals and had calmed down a lot, but her eldest daughter, she hated her. And then there was the slapping incident, she couldn’t let it go unnoticed.

Olivia definitely didn’t figure, would her daughter throw her down the stairs or would the brunette end up leaving the house without even telling her.

She had to get those crazy ideas out of her head.

[…]

As she typed some data into the computer, Olivia felt terrible. Her stomach was a complete mess, she hadn’t wanted to eat that morning, and the only thing she managed to eat that morning was an apple, which she was about to expel.

He felt really bad, he wanted to finish his work hour so he could go home and lie in bed for hours. She was grateful that it was already Friday, she would have the whole weekend to rest.

The brunette stops working for a moment and lets out her breath, when suddenly the office door opens and Alma walks in. She immediately smiles as she sees the blonde fill the office with her smile.

-I finally made it, Talia wouldn’t leave me alone.

-You’re quite late, the headmistress won’t be long.

-I know, but I brought you something.” The girl takes a chocolate muffin out of her bag and hands it to her. I helped the cook make it.

She hands it to her so lovingly, Olivia didn’t have the heart to refuse. Even though inside she was holding back the urge to vomit.

-It looks delicious.

-I put chocolate chips in it, it’s my snack, but I want to give it to you.

-But it’s your snack, what are you going to eat?

-I’ll eat my sister’s, she never eats anything,” she shrugs.

Alma was very sweet, for a month and a half the blonde had kept it a secret not to tell her father about where she was working, and so far she had kept it. Since then, the girl visited her every day, and spent some quality time in her office.

They talked about everything, even Talia’s supposedly good behaviour. Olivia was aware of Caleb’s warning to send her to boarding school in England. The teenager seemed to be afraid to go away, so she was behaving.

But that wasn’t all the brunette had gone through in that month and a half, two weeks after the encounter with Caleb, Olivia began to experience some strange changes in her body. And after the nurse’s wild theory, the brunette decided to take a pregnancy test.

To her surprise, she was pregnant! She was carrying Caleb’s child, and at this point, she still couldn’t believe it was true. She was carrying the baby of a man she had only spent one night with, and whom she had no intention of seeing again.

The situation was quite difficult, because she had discovered that she had stupidly fallen in love with him. Now she was in love, pregnant and alone.

She didn’t have the courage to tell Caleb that she was expecting his child, she couldn’t possibly believe that it was his. Besides, it had been so long, he could easily think she’d been with another man.

Things weren’t looking good for her, she had to keep her job no matter what. Now more than ever she needed to work, for that baby.

Olivia smiles, a child of Caleb’s, she wondered, what would he think of that?

-Why are you smiling? -The brunette looks up and looks at that beautiful blonde with blue eyes, will her baby look like her, she wonders.

-You’re welcome, I think it’s time for you to go to class. It’s not good for the headmistress to replace you here.

-I’ll come back tomorrow, and I’ll bring you something else.

The girl runs to her and hugs her tightly, the warmth that this blonde was transmitting was unbelievable. So sincere, so innocent, so unique… that little girl was such a sweetheart, so much so, that it made her want to cry.

-Olivia, are you sick? -Alma asked her worriedly after separating from her.

-Why are you asking me that?

-Well, you look different.

-I’m fine, don’t worry.

-In that case, I’ll bring more desserts for you. So you won’t be so thin anymore.

Alma smiles at him, plants a k**s on his cheek and runs out the door….

[…]

As soon as Alma left the principal’s office, Talia was spying from somewhere else. It had been more than a month since her sister had gone missing at recess time; she was curious enough to know what the little girl was doing in her free time.

Until she finally found out, Alma spent the whole recess hour in the headmistress’ office, just when the headmistress was going out for lunch. What could she do in there, a joke, she doubted it, her sister had changed a lot, and she didn’t want to play tasteless games with anyone anymore.

The teenager decided to replace out what was going on, and with the same idea she made her way to the office to see who was behind the door.
