Sold To The Billionaire Alpha -
Chapter 59
Fox
Orion personally showed me to my room at the mansion. He was grateful for everything I had done but I could not shake the immense guilt I felt. I had unearthed his own mother’s treachery. I felt like I had done him a disservice.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked as he flung open the double doors to a huge high-ceilinged bedroom.
He looked at me thoughtfully.
“I have my Orchid back and she has her father alive and well and all those who wished us ill have been apprehended,” said Orion. “And I have to thank you. You were a key player in all of this especially when it came to Talus and the Marys.”
I smiled.
“I am sorry that the culprit behind some of this was someone close to you though,” I admitted, my tone apologetic. Orion had mentioned the Marys but had conveniently failed to mention Orla. A small part of me felt he was living in a bit of a fantasy world. Maybe that was what it was like for wolves and their mates anyway. They got swept up in a fantasy. Orion sighed and then shrugged.
“You did not discover anything that shocked me,” said Orion simply.
I felt sorry for him. I knew what it felt like to be betrayed in this way. I could not imagine the pain if the betrayer had been my own mother.
“I was happy to help,” I said. “You and Orchid belong together. I’m happy she’s safe and Talus is recuperating.”
Orion nodded.
“Well, I’ll leave you to it,” said Orion, clapping me on the back.
He paused at the door and looked back at me. I stared at him, wondering what the matter was.
“Do you like the werewolf world, Fox?” Asked Orion out of nowhere.
“Um, sure,” I said. “It’s certainly not boring!” I said with a laugh.
Orion nodded. He looked like he wanted to tell me something.
“Well, you are welcome in it,” said Orion and then he left without another word.
Odd. I was strangely touched though. Being welcomed by an Alpha had to be a big deal. My second Alpha friend. I wondered what Jessie was doing. He and Jamie were probably up with the twins.
I had stayed up all night. Even though it was daytime now, everyone seemed to be heading to bed. The room was luxurious in a regal sort of way with archways and hanging chandeliers. The carpet was embroidered with an insignia. The adjacent bathroom had a huge clawfoot tub. I usually never bathed. That sounded gross. I showered but I did not soak in tubs. I soaked in this one. I was trying to clear my mind. The hardest thing about making yourself not think about someone was that you were actually still thinking about them indirectly. I grunted with frustration and slipped under the water, totally submerging myself. I cast a breathing bubble spell so that I could stay submerged indefinitely. The bubble of air sprang up and surrounded my head like a close-fitting air-tight helmet. I closed my eyes and tried to relax.
Barely a minute had passed before I heard quick footsteps and a huge splash. Someone yanked me up out of the water. My breathing bubble popped and I gasped as I recognised my assailant.
“BISA?!” I yelled, shocked.
She was facing me, sitting on her knees, fully clothed in the bathtub.
“WHY ARE PEOPLE ALWAYS TRYING TO DROWN THEMSELVES AS SOON AS I TURN MY BACK?!” She demanded and then she burst into tears.
What the f**k?!
“Hey, hey,” I cooed, hating seeing her cry. “Stop,” I said, coming closer to her hesitantly.
I cautiously wrapped my arms around her. She hugged me back and cried on my shoulder. It dawned on me that I was butt naked.
“Um, Bisa,” I said gently.
“Yeah,” she sniffled.
“I swear I wasn’t trying to drown myself. I was just underwater…” I said.
“Yeah! For like two minutes! Wizards’ lungs are almost the same as humans. They can’t hold their breath for that long!” She said angrily.
Excuse you.
“I’ll have you know I am excellent at breathing bubble spells!” I said holding her by her shoulders.
I casted one to show her. The bubble surrounded my head.
“See?” I said, my voice muffled somewhat by the bubble but she nodded, indicating she had heard me.
I let the bubble deflate. Pop. We stared at each other. Bisa’s eyes trailed down my wet chest and then stopped on my lower torso. I blushed scarlet. I was at attention.
“Why were you spying on me?” I asked quietly.
She was still staring.
“Bisa!” I said, grabbing a towel and pulling the drain plug out. The water rushed down the drain and I wrapped the towel around my waist and sat in the draining tub.
Bisa looked extremely embarrassed.
“I wasn’t spying,” she said, refusing to meet my eye.
She was looking at the wall now.
“I came to talk to you but when I knocked you didn’t open so I was gonna leave but then…something just told me to check on you,” she explained.
“You said people?” I said.
“Huh,” she said, raising her eyebrows and looking at me.
She was effortlessly beautiful. She didn’t know it though.
“You said people always try to drown themselves around you? I’m person. One person,” I clarified.
“Oh,” she said softly. “You don’t know about Orchid?” She asked.
“Oh!” I said.
I had heard about the balcony swimming pool incident.
“You were there,” I surmised.
“I found her first,” she said. “I can’t get the sight of her just lifeless in that pool out of my head. I’m so glad she’s safe,” she said brightly.
I leant back against my side of the tub.
“I keep thinking about you…” I said, lowering my voice.
Bisa smiled.
“…lying in the pool of b***d…not you…the scarecrow Glamour,” I explained.
Bisa’s smile faltered.
“I was…I knew it wasn’t real but…it…it scared me to death,” I said, looking away from her.
She approached me slowly and resumed our hug. I placed my chin on the top of her head. She smelled like sandalwood, clean linens and cocoa powder.
“You smell like a neatly swept cottage in the woods that doubles as a bakery,” I explained.
“You’re really weird, Fox,” she mumbled against my shoulder.
“Point taken,” I said. “I live in the woods though.” I revealed.
“What?” She giggled, looking up at me.
“Yeah, deep in the Ambrosia woods,” I said. “In a cottage. I have a kitchen garden and I grow all my own food when I’m not…wizard-ing.”
I preferred it there to my parents’ old mansion in the heart of Ambrosia. That mansion held a dark secret within its concrete bowels, one my family had protected for centuries.
“You live alone?” Asked Bisa, seemingly nervous about the answer.
“No,” I said.
Bisa’s face fell.
“I have a cat,” I said. “A chubby ginger with a white belly and white socks.”
She grinned. She seemed relieved.
“No family?” She asked pointedly.
“Yeah,” I said.
She seemed tense again.
“My parents are back in their mansion in town,” I said with a sigh.
She relaxed again.
“So you’re a rich boy acting like a farm boy out in the woods?” She asked incredulously.
I laughed.
“That’s why you didn’t care about the million dollars from Orla?” She concluded.
“No,” I said curtly, feeling offended. “I could be poor as dirt and I still wouldn’t take that. My morality is not for sale and my silence is not for hire,” I said.
We were still soaking wet in a bathtub but it was pretty comfortable. She cuddled up to my chest.
“You seemed so upset about my fake death,” she said.
“Fake deaths are upsetting,” I said.
“Fox, I know you’re hiding something from me,” she said.
“Bisa, I know you’re hiding something from me,” I retorted.
It was true. She always acted like she had a secret to tell me. She would dance around the bush and then chicken out.
“Let’s tell each other at exactly the same time,” she said, hopping out of the tub.
I followed her into my bedroom. She tore two blank pages from my notebook on the bedside table.
“BISA!” I bellowed.
“What?” She said, startled.
“Ask me first!” I whined.
I took the notebook and magically made it replace those two jaggedly torn out pages. I breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness for magic. I sat on the edge of the bed. She gave me one of the badly ripped pages. She found a pen nearby.
“I don’t need a pen,” I said coolly.
“Show off!” She said.
I grinned. She hid her paper from me carefully while she wrote down her secret.
“Mine is horrible,” I said.
“Mine is wonderful, so don’t worry. They’ll cancel each other out,” she said, somewhat breathlessly.
I took a deep breath.
“Ok,” I said decisively.
I could not believe I was doing this. I made the following words appear on my page.
I’m scared to get close to anyone because my…
I paused. I could not do it.
“Fox!” Said Bisa, noticing me looking at the paper with a defeated expression.
“Please, please, please, just tell me,” she said softly.
I nodded. It was hard to say no to her. She was going to replace out I was a huge jar of crazy sauce soon enough.
I’m scared to get close to anyone because my ex used me to get close to my family’s portal to hell, then she cheated on me with a demon and got pregnant for him. But the demon was using her too. He sacrificed her and his unborn child to open hell’s gates so I killed him in revenge and closed hell with the help of Alpha Jessie and Luna Jamie. However, the sight of her lifeless body haunts me to this day and seeing you, Bisa, like that…
I stopped magically dictating those words to look at her. She was reading over hers nervously. I smiled slightly.
…it scared me even more than losing her. I know we’re relative strangers but I have this need to protect you so…let me.
“I’m ready,” she announced.
“I’m not,” I said dryly.
“Fox,” said Bisa sternly.
I sighed. We exchanged papers.
“I can’t watch you read mine!” I said suddenly, marching away from her and locking myself in the bathroom.
She was probably reading mine right now and realising I was damaged goods…severely damaged goods. f**k! I lashed out and the clawfoot tub shattered into millions of pieces. I fixed it instantly, reforming it. I sighed.
“Fox! Fox! What was that loud noise?!” She asked, banging on the door. “Answer me, please!”
I was silent.
“I’ll break this door down,” she said, her voice shaky and unsure.
“Ok, here I go, gonna break it down,” she said unconfidently.
“Did you read mine?” I called.
“Yes,” she said.
And she was still here?
“Did you read mine?” She called back, her voice still a bit shaky.
No. I had not even read hers yet. I shook my head to clear it.
“Fox, are you okay?” She asked. “Please open up so we can talk!”
I unfolded her paper. Her message was not nearly as long as mine.
Fox, I was terrified to tell you this but I can’t hold it back any longer so here it is: you’re my fated mate and I know you have your demons-
I could not help but shake my head at the coincidental use of the word “demons” before I read the rest.
-but I’m willing to move as fast or slow as you need me to if you give me a chance.
“Ok, I’m really going to break the door down!” She claimed.
She would not have to. I opened it and let her in.
Orchid
Orion came and found me getting ready to take a bath.
“I’m grimy,” I announced.
“You’re my dirty girl,” he said in his gravelly voice with a cheeky wink.
I giggled. He disrobed and joined me. My breath caught in my throat a little at the sight of his taut rippling muscles. Would I ever get used to this guy? He was a walking ad campaign.
“If you were a human, you’d be a fitness trainer with like ten million thirsty girls following your socials,” I said.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about but ok,” he said.
He pulled me onto his lap with my back to his chest and he began to slowly trail the loofa drown my throat, skimming over my breasts and sliding down my tummy. I instinctively clamped my thighs together but he gently parted them. He was not using the loofa anymore. His fingers were making me grip the sides of the tub really tightly.
“I missed you,” he murmured in my ear.
“I wasn’t gone long,” I said softly. “But I missed you too,” I admitted.
I leant back again him and opened my legs a little more, unfolding my flower for him.
“I have something to show you,” I said, smiling.
“I bet you do,” he whispered, as he inserted two fingers deep inside me.
I m****d as his thumb padded my bud. I forgot what I had been about to do. I turned my head to the side and crashed my lips against his, kissing him ravenously. Our tongues intertwined while his fingers worked me into a frenzy. I whimpered into his mouth. I felt the familiar delicious pressure building inside of me. One of his hands found my painfully hard n*****s and pinched them. I cried out as I broke our k**s. He grabbed my waist and lifted me up. I could see his huge c**k, engorged below me in the water. He lowered me back down, impaling me onto him. I g*****d as he filled me.
I was on his lap, facing away from him though I was well aware of him as he stretched my p***y with his huge member. He gripped my h**s pulling me down so he could fill me deeper. I started riding, slowly at first, getting use to this new position. I looked at him over my shoulder as I quickened the pace. I loved that little sly smirk on his handsome face. He knew he had such an intense effect over me. He kissed the nape of my neck and buried his face in my hair as he lost himself in me. Faster and harder and deeper. He seemed to know instinctively what I wanted. I did not have to breathe a word. I was soon close to the edge. He pulled me down suddenly, making sure he buried as deep inside of me as possible, just before we both exploded. I screamed. His grunt was muffled by my hair. He poured into me.
Then, he did some gymnastics I really was not ready for. He held my h**s and stood up, making me keep my hands on the sides of the tub so that I was angled downwards with my hair in my face and Orion still in me. I looked up over my shoulder at him while he drained into me.
“Just trying to secure my heir here,” he said innocently.
I burst into laughter. After about a minute, Orion helped me right myself. We were both standing in the tub now. I pushed against his chest playfully.
“What the hell was that?” I asked, still giggling.
“Skill,” he said unabashedly. “Strength and skill!”
“Wanna see some of my strengths and skills?” I asked, remembering my plan.
“Oh yes please,” said Orion, his husky voice enthusiastic.
“Ok,” I said excitedly.
He had filled the mansion with more orchids upon my return and in such short notice. He usually kept them all over the house so luckily there were some in a vase on the counter in the master bedroom. I focused on them until I heard their pulse. They were alive and well like me. I made them grow and grow and grow until we were surrounded by newly blossoming orchids. Orion’s eyes were wide, his mouth agape. He sat down in the tub slowly and so did I.
“Orchids don’t typically grow in this formation but I wanted to show off,” I said winking.
“Is this the part where you eat me to gain energy for your new garden?” He asked.
I laughed.
“No, I’m not a villain or a praying mantis,” I giggled.
“Oh, because I would have let you,” he joked, pulling me against his chest.
“You know what, I’m not even that surprised,” he announced.
“Why not?” I asked, frowning.
“You being amazing is nothing new,” he whispered.
I grinned. I kissed him softly. He looked around at the flowers in awe.
“Ok, I have a job for you,” he said.
“What?” I asked.
“Grow something,” he said.
“Yeah?” I asked, waiting for my assignment.
“In here,” he said, putting his huge hand on my lower abdomen.
I splashed him with water.
“You have baby fever!” I told him.
“I hope it’s catching,” he said, grabbing me.
I laughed.
“We’re gonna save a fortune from now on,” he said conspiratorially in my ear, making me laugh harder.
“I’m so happy for you, Baby,” he said more seriously.
He brushed his nose against mine.
“You’ve really grown,” he said.
“Cut it out,” I said.
“As a person,” he said indignantly.
He splashed me with water but I got him back. He pulled me into his arms.
“You’re still the most beautiful orchid in this room,” he said.
“You’re cheesy,” I said.
“You love me,” he said.
“I do,” I admitted, looking at him.
He seemed more amazed by that than my orchids.
“And I have loved you from the moment I first laid eyes on you. The feeling is finally mutual,” he said triumphantly.
“It’s been mutual for a while now,” I said, leaning back against him.
It really had been.
“I love you, Orion,” I said.
“I love you, Orchid,” he whispered back kissing the top of my head.
