Sold To The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 37
Aria’s POV
“You, my friend, will have a fly enter your mouth if you do not stop gawking at him like that.” Sophia whispered in my ear and I gasped, nearly falling to the ground from behind the bushes where I was hiding to watch as the wolves returned from the morning pack run.
All of the men were shirtless and majority of the ladies were wearing big shirts with nothing beneath as they walked out of the forest with smiles on their faces but my eyes were not on any of them.
They were stuck on Roma who had just emerged from inside the house to welcome the pack members that had participated in the run, dressed in a sleeveless top and shorts that left nothing to the imagination as it hugged his body and revealed his arms and toned legs.
His hair was packed in a bun on top of his head and he was barefoot, his face not in a smile but more relaxed than what it usually was.
Then again, it could be because he was talking to Raphael, who stood beside him shirtless as the others greeted him and walked past to their various homes.
Turning to quickly eye Sophia, I saw her staring in the same direction that I was and smirked, my gaze returning back to Roma.
“Well, how about you go inside and let me do the staring?”
“And let me miss out on the fun? Girl, be for real.” She said and I laughed quietly, bending lower behind the bushes so that no one would catch us.
Carlos walked up to them and Roma nodded at him, giving him a pat on the shoulder and Raphael walked with Carlos into the mansion, Roma walking beside them.
My eyes widened when from nowhere, wearing a big shirt that did nothing to hide her big t**s and a*s, Salem emerged from the woods and ran towards Roma, stopping in front of him with a big grin that made my stomach twist with jealousy.
“Uh oh. Salem alert. Everyone in the pack knows that she has been doing everything she can to be the next Luna. I mean, since Roma’s mate has died and it’s extremely rare to be blessed with another mate in this lifetime, his best bet is to marry someone that is good for the pack…” Sophia trailed off when she saw the look on my face and she made a show of zipping her lips.
As we headed back into the mansion after Roma and Salem entered, I bit my l*p as I wondered if it was true.
He had looked like he wanted to k**s me the last time I was in his office. I was sure of it. Or had I been hoping for too much? Was I becoming delusional and desperate when merely weeks ago he had drawn a line between us?
“He might not want to get married, you know that, right? So don’t worry too much about it. I’m sorry for bringing up the marriage thing.” Sophia said gently, taking my hand in hers and I sighed.
“It’s not your fault. Even if she was not always following him around, I have never stood a chance. I’m human.”
“Well, I’m a werewolf, but my chances are zero to none with the Beta because I’m an omega. Damned to only have decorative claws and canines but I’m pretty much human too.” She said and I rolled my eyes.
“I saw you jump on that tree last week. There was nothing human about what you did, Soph.” I answered, raising my eyebrows.
She grinned and pulled me closer as she led me to the kitchen where we would be doing our chores for the day because of the bonfire at night.
According to Sophie’s plan, during the bonfire, we would sneak back to our rooms and leave for the party that she had somehow convinced me to attend.
Apparently, Grace was dating one of the pack sentinels and he would lend us one of the cars so that we would drive safe and come back. Sophia had ordered me to not think about anything because she had everything under control.
By the time the bonfire was about to start, I was already thinking twice about this plan and when Sophia signaled at me to come meet her where she stood so we could head back inside, I swallowed nervously as I went to meet her.
“Soph, I don’t think this is such a great idea.” I looked around at the bonfire where wolves were dancing and laughing. I didn’t belong here but since the last time I ran away, I was terrified of sneaking out of the pack.
“Darling, Roma will not come down to this thing. Best bet, he will come and stay for ten minutes to encourage the pack but he will not stay here. Besides, it is not sneaking out. Grace’s boyfriend knows we are leaving. I bet Raphael knows already by now.”
She pulled me gently towards her room and when we entered, she gently sat me down on her bed and sat beside me.
“What are you scared of?”
My eyes widened and I absentmindedly touched the fading scar on my forehead.
Her eyes widened and she nodded in understanding.
“Oh, if you don’t want to, then you can stay. I was just really excited to take you out, dress you up and see you have fun. I’m sure you miss the town. But you can stay. Let me just go and tell the others that you won’t be going with us. They’re already dressing up.”
Sophia headed to the door and stopped when I called her name hesitantly.
I had not been to a party in ages. I didn’t even know how the party scene would look like now. I didn’t have anything to wear.
“I don’t have anything to wear.” I whispered and laughed when Sophia bump-fisted the air with a big grin.
“I have this one dress that I got, but my h**s look almost nonexistent in them. I’ve seen you butt a*s naked.”
“You need to stop entering the bathroom without permission”
“Semantics. And your a*s is huge. I don’t get why you’re never wearing tight jeans and shaking up and down like Salem does unprovoked.”
She mimicked Salem and I fell on the bed, laughing and feeling so much better. Maybe going out would be good for me. Besides, it was not like we were sneaking out this time. I was not going to be alone in a forest filled with monsters.
“Come on, let us see how you look in that dress first so that you can quickly shower and I’ll do your makeup for you. How about that?” Sophie said and when I nodded eagerly, she opened her wardrobe.
If there was one thing I loved about the servant quarters, it was how we each had our rooms located beside each other and even though we shared bathrooms, it felt like a boarding experience, giving us equal parts of privacy and community.
“Come on, up you go.” Sophie said and threw a red glittery sleeveless dress at me. My eyes widened and I was already shaking my head.
“Oh no.”
“I think the words you might be looking for are oh yes!” She said with a grin.
