Chapter 1037 Where Is Grandpa
His mother's death anniversary was just around the corner, and he had promised Stanley he would bring him along when paying his respects. Since Alex happened to be free at the moment, he decided to bring Stanley over to Lumenopolis.
As for Kate and Emmalyn, Alex decided not to bring them along, as Stanley had yet to accept them as his family.
Having spent some time at Flynn's, Stanley felt a lot better and was no longer depressed.
"Are we here to see Ms. Grant, Daddy?" Stanley asked curiously while beaming with excitement.
Alex tensed up the moment he heard that. That was when he recalled Maggie returning to Lumenopolis after that incident. As Alex had a lot of things to deal with, he didn't have the time to give her an explanation.
With that in mind, Alex nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm going to bring you to see Ms. Grant. Would you like that?"
"Yes! I haven't seen Ms. Grant in a long time! I've missed her very much! I bet she misses me a lot too!" Stanley exclaimed while jumping up and down in joy.
Alex hailed a taxi and headed straight for the Grant residence. He knocked on the front door upon arrival, and one of the Grant family's housekeepers opened it shortly after.
As Richard had previously chosen Alex as a candidate to be his grandson-in-law, the members of the Grant family used to treat him with the utmost respect.
However, things had changed ever since Richard returned from Nebula City. He was so angry that he even went after the Sutton family. Eventually, Alex had to lend the Sutton family tens of billions to help resolve their crisis.
Had it not been for Alex's help, Richard would surely have wiped the Sutton family off the face of Lumenopolis.
Since then, Alex's name became a taboo word within the Grant family. No one dared mention his name for fear of incurring Richard's wrath.
The housekeeper was about to shut the door the moment he recognized Alex, but Alex was quicker and managed to push the door open.
"Hey! Why are you shutting the door in my face? Could you tell Old Mr. Grant that I am here to see him?"
"You should leave, Mr. Jefferson. There's no way Old Mr. Grant would want to see you. I'm trying to do you a favor here. Please don't make this any more difficult for me," the housekeeper said with an annoyec frown.
Hmm... I think I might know why Richard would refuse to see me. In that case, I'll just ask to meet Maggie instead! With that in mind, Alex said, "Could you tell Maggie that I'm here to see her, then? It's urgent!"
The housekeeper shot Alex a hostile gaze when he heard that. "Have you not humiliated Ms. Grant enough, Mr. Jefferson? Ms. Grant has left the country, so you won't be able to see her! Please leave!" "She left the country?" Alex mumbled to himself before asking, "Do you know the country she went to!
Where Is Grandpa
Where is she staying?"
"Why should I tell you that? You are not welcome here at the Grant residence, so hurry up and get lost!" the housekeeper retorted and bit down hard on Alex's hand.
He then shut the door when Alex pulled his hand back in pain. All Alex could do was stare at the door with a conflicted feeling in her heart.
The fact that Maggie left the country suggests that she doesn't want to see me... Alex let out a sigh at the thought of
that.
"Did Ms. Grant leave the country? Will I never be able to see her ever again?" Stanley asked with a depressed look on his face.
Alex simply kept quiet and nodded in response.
"Come on; I'll take you to see your granny instead. She would surely dote on you if she were still alive," he said after a brief pause and brought Stanley to his mother's grave. He then paid his respects and told his mother all the good things about Stanley.
Alex was about to leave with Stanley when the latter asked, "If Granny has passed away, then where's Grandpa?"
