Chapter 1053 A Magical Item To Suppress Evil

According to Gregory, Erika was a vain woman, and he unintentionally caused her death.

Alex obviously didn't trust what he said because as Gregory recounted the facts of the incident, Erika also shared her side of stories regarding a series of Gregory's behaviors toward her

What Gregory did was simply inhumane, and he wasn't even worthy of being called human. Alex had no intention of getting involved in this matter anymore. Even if Erika tormented Gregory, slowly burning his soul like fireworks, Alex still believed the latter was not worth any sympathy.

As Alex turned his gaze to Gregory, who was sitting on the bed, he saw the latter's face was filled with hypocrisy, and his mouth uttered nothing but lies. Alex sneered and said coldly, "The heavens are watching everything you do. Your lies may deceive others, but they can't deceive the eyes of the heavens. You will face the consequences sooner or later."

After Gregory heard Alex's words, his face grew somewhat awkward. The next moment, he gave Alex a resentful look and exclaimed angrily. "What nonsense are you spouting? Do you think I would actually be afraid of you just because you managed to fool my dad and grandpa? Well, I'm wide awake now, and you have no place here anymore. You'd better take your money and get lost. Just the sight of you annoys me."

Upon hearing such ungrateful words from his own grandson, Garett raised his cane and lashed out at Gregory. However, Gregory swiftly lifted his hand and grabbed the cane in midair. "Grandpa, why would you hit me for the sake of an outsider? Even without him. I would've been perfectly fine. He's nothing more than a pretentious swindler, Gregory said disdainfully.

I have consulted the Elysian Master of Mountain of the Beasts and obtained a magical item to suppress evil, okay? With that in mind, Gregory gestured to his bodyguard.

The bodyguard understood immediately upon seeing the gesture and quickly pulled something out of his pocket. He then handed it to Gregory and said respectfully, "Mr. Gregory, here's your thing" The bodyguard handed Gregory a triangular object made of folded talisman. Gregory took the talisman and swiftly wore it around his neck. After that, he gazed at Alex with a smug expression.

He then said, "A swindler like you wouldn't have a clue what this is, right? This is a talisman I obtained- from an Elysian Master in Mountain of the Beasts. Those evil spirits wouldn't dare come near me!" If it weren't for an ignorant girl who meddled with him in Paradiso, he wouldn't have become a target for the ghosts.

Alex carefully examined the triangular talisman hanging around Gregory's neck. It seemed to exude a profound aura of mysticism: When he took a look at Erika, he knew that the talisman held formidable power within

As Gregory put on the triangular talisman, Erika's blue face instantly filled with sheer terror. She took several steps back and sought refuge behind Alex, utterly avoiding any contact with Gregory "That's indeed a useful item. Some items may offer temporary protection, but they can't shield you forever. The sins you've committed will catch up with you sooner or later," Alex said coldly Upon hearing that, Gregory immediately became furious. This brut just wants to curse me to death! Gregory believed that the person his grandfather invited here had no intention of saving him. Instead, he simply wanted Gregory dead.

Hence, Gregory looked at Garett with a resentful expression and complained, "Grandpa, can't you tell this person is speaking nonsense? He just wants me dead. Please ask him to leave! I feel annoyed whenever I see him. I can't even catch my breath now."

Garett also felt that what Alex had just said was inappropriate. After hearing his grandson's narration, he was somewhat inclined to support his grandson. Garett believed that even if his grandson was at fault, his crime wasn't deserving of death. He thought Alex's remarks were indeed a bit excessive.

Garett had a conflicted look on his face as he looked at Alex and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mr. Jefferson. My grandson is immature and thoughtless. Please don't take it personally. There's nothing more to be done now. How about I treat you to a meal?"

Though Garett's words were indirect, it was clear that he wanted Alex to leave.

Since the people of the Greaves family did not welcome him and intended to drive him away, Alex saw no point in staying there any longer. He turned around and prepared to leave. At the same time, he made up his mind to no longer be involved in the affairs and well-being of the Greaves family.

Just as Alex was about to make up his mind to leave, Erika suddenly knelt down in front of him. She had a desperate look on her face as she pleaded, "Master, I know you're capable. Please help me. I beg of you!"
