Chapter 1091 Offering For The Dead

Horace remained engrossed in conversation with Alex, oblivious to their presence. He currently thought of Alex as a limitless source of funds,

Horace had concocted the project solely to lure Alex into the trap, with the intention of leaving him in the dust. He knew that Alex would be unable to catch him and would mistakenly place blame on the unsuspecting Jones family. This would be Horace's opportunity for revenge after he and Wesley were beaten up by the Jones family last night.

Alex's foolish offer of five billion had caught them completely off guard as they assumed one hundred million was already a lot.

"So you're here, Horace. I went through a great deal trying to replace you!" Tigris commented calmly, his face devoid of expression.

As the familiar voice reached his ears, Horace turned over his shoulder and quickly signaled to Tigris, urging him not to divulge their prior acquaintance.

Without hesitation, Tigris strode over to Horace and gave the latter three consecutive slaps to vent his

anger.

It was all Horace's fault that Flynn slapped me twice. I must get back at him!

Horace felt the impact as his teeth were dislodged, his cheeks swelling from the force. He didn't understand what was going on. They were friends. Even if they rarely met, they often talked on the phone. He couldn't comprehend why Tigris would suddenly strike him without any apparent reason.

Nevertheless, Horace dared not question Tigris as he had just told Alex that he didn't know who Tigris

was

"S-Sir, what was that? I didn't offend you. Why did you slap me?" Horace shot Tigris a confused look.

"You're pretending not to know me? You fooled me back then, and I nearly lost my life to Flynn. I must kill you today!" Tigris declared angrily as he delivered a kick to Horace's stomach.

"If you have a grudge to settle, do it elsewhere. Don't cause a ruckus at Four Seas Corporation!" Alex said sternly.

"Got it, Mr. Jefferson. I won't cause a fuss here," Tigris agreed politely as he dragged Horace out.

Horace was flustered as he had come here to strike a deal with Alex. Alex has promised to invest five billion What if he goes back on his word after I leave?

"Mr. Jefferson, how are you going to give me the five billion?" Horace inquired boldly, unaware of the imminent crisis that lay ahead for him.

Alex turned over his shoulder and grinned. "Don't worry. I promised to give you five billion, and I won't go back on my word."

Horace chose to believe the promise of a company's owner and allowed Tigris' subordinates to drag him

out.

"Tigris, what's wrong with you? Who was that Flynn you talked about? Also, why did you slap me? That was harsh of you. I nearly died back there!" Horace complained as he held his cheek.

Horace was new here, so he had no idea of Flynn's influence in Nebula City.

"Alex is the owner of Four Seas Corporation, and his friend Flynn is the king of the underworld. By instructing me to harm Alex, you practically pushed me to my doom. I must kill you now!" With that, Tigris shot his subordinates a look.

The men surrounded Horace and proceeded to beat him to a pulp without holding back. Wesley trembled in fear as he watched his father getting beaten up, but he dared not step forward to stop them. "Boss! He is no longer breathing," one of Tigris' subordinates reported to him in a low voice.

Tigris cast an icy look at the lifeless body on the ground and spat at it in disgust. He then gathered his subordinates with a wave and left the scene.

After they left, Wesley approached and made a gruesome discovery-Horace's lifeless body. Shock overwhelmed him, rendering him utterly numb.

Horace had taken care of him so well that he remained unable to function independently despite being twenty-eight years old.

Collapsing onto Horace's lifeless form, he unleashed a torrent of tears.

Alex had witnessed the entire debacle from his office at Four Seas Corporation. Evil would punish evil, so there was no need for him to do anything to teach them a lesson.

"Jack, get five billion worth of offerings for the dead and burn them," Alex ordered.

Jack had no idea why Alex would issue such a strange order, but he still carried it out as told.

After Jack left and closed the door behind him, Alex whipped out a box of cigarettes from his pocket and lit one up. He puffed out a ring of smoke and let out a soft sigh. It's time to head to Lumenopolis to rescue Dad from jail!
