Chapter 1115 On His Deathbed

"Mr. Jefferson, I'm not calling you now to ask for help, but rather to meet up with you. You've done so much for my family, and I don't have much time left. Ijust want to see you one more time before 1 1 pass away. I wonder if you have the time. Mr. Jefferson?"

Over the phone, Garett's voice sounded somewhat weak. It was as if uttering those words had already exhausted all his strength.

Alex was taken aback. Although Mr. Greaves was previously beaten by the people from the secret forces, his health should be fine after he took the pills I gave him. How did he end up in such a state? "Mr. Greaves, why are you so weak now? Did something happen? You can tell me," Alex said with

confusion.

On the phone, Garett chuckled, but Alex could sense from the sound that the former's smile was desolate.

"Mr. Jefferson, you have already done so much for the Greaves family, and I cannot trouble you any further. The reason I am calling you this time is simply to see you one last time before I die. It's truly my blessing to have the chance to meet a remarkable person like you. It's just a pity that my family and I haven't been able to do anything for you, and I feel deeply indebted."

Realizing that he couldn't get much information over the phone, Alex decided to go to Lumenopolis the next day to replace out what exactly had happened.

Before leaving, he informed Zachary about the secret forces' emergence, which greatly shocked the latter.

After all, the secret forces had been in seclusion for a hundred years without stepping into the real world. Yet now, they wanted to conquer the real world in such a domineering manner. Nevertheless, Zachary did not go to Lumenopolis with Alex after hearing the news. He stayed behind to spend more time with Stanley.

Upon arriving in Lumenopolis, Alex received a text from Garett containing the latter's address. This time, the location was not the Greaves residence, but a slightly remote rental house.

In the small room of about a dozen square meters, there was a little bed and a small wardrobe, leaving just enough space in the middle for a tiny table.

Never in his dreams did Alex imagine Garett would end up in such a miserable situation. After all, Garett once spent a whopping four billion at an auction just to buy a painting by Rembrandt.

As Alex quickly walked over, he carefully observed the extremely weak Garett lying in bed. When he figured out the situation, he couldn't help but sigh, and his dislike for the secret forces deepened even

more.

After he left last time, the Greaves family only enjoyed a few days of peace. When the people from the secret forces found out that the leader of Stygian Sect who was occupying the Greaves family had died. they launched a fierce retaliation against the Greaves family.

Garett's son, Tobias, did not escape his fate as the head of the family. He bore the brunt of the secret forces' fury and was beaten to death.

Even so, the secret forces were not willing to give up. They even wanted to kill all the members of the Greaves family.

Fortunately, Micah had received the news in advance and managed to escape with Garett from the Greaves residence, narrowly avoiding the ruthlessness of the secret forces.

Garett already suffered a huge blow when his grandson died, yet in just a few short days, his son also passed away. With the family he single-handedly built gone, Garett was overwhelmed with grief and anger As such, he fell ill once again.

This time, his condition was severe. Micah requested the director of the most famous hospital in Lumenopolis to check on Garett, and the director concluded that Garett only had a few days left to live.

As Garett spoke, tears streamed down his cheeks, and the immense hatred he harbored for the secret forces was threatening to consume him.

He spent his entire life doing good deeds, thinking that his kindness would be rewarded. But he never expected to encounter such a situation in his old age.

"Mr. Jefferson, I am content even if I die today after seeing you." Garett wiped the tears from his face, then closed his eyes peacefully, waiting for his end.

Alex also noticed that Garett's current state was not well. He was basically on his deathbed.

"Mr. Greaves, I've done so much for your family, and you haven't even had the chance to treat me to a good meal yet. How can you just die like this? I won't accept it!" he said with a forced smile. He was confident he could cure Garett's illness. -
