Son-In-Law Gets an Upgrade -
Chapter 229
Chapter 229 Satisfaction
Now that they realized Alex was the People's Hero, there respect in the gaze of the Hudsons towards him.
Even Kitty was astounded as well; she never knew Alex was such a virtuous man.
Considering his attitude, who else would care about his social status anymore?
Besides, he had saved her life once and helped to break the curse on her too.
The more she thought about it, the most satisfied she was with Alex.
She believed a son-in-law like Alex was the best candidate she could ever get for her daughter.
The rest of the meal went well and the atmosphere was lively and merry with Gavin guiding the conversations.
Zachariah noticed the admiration Jessica had for Alex and he felt sad and suffered quietly.
Every bite food he ate was tasteless.
Zachariah felt he was left alone and went unnoticed by everyone else throughout the party.
By the time, the party was over, Zachariah was still distorted with rage.
"Jessica, we are going for an outing tomorrow. Are you coming along?" Zachariah stopped Jessica and Alex as everybody was leaving.
As he felt distorted from the negative feelings, there was no way he would let Alex off without teaching him a lesson.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go to work tomorrow," Jessica replied apologetically.
"Just take a day off! We are going out with some rich kids of Airedale. Maybe we can make friends with them as they may be a great help to us one day." Zachariah persuaded as he smirked. "Thanks. But I gotta go to work," Jessica demurred once again as she shook her head. Her work was going well right now; besides, she had absolutely no interest in meeting those rich kids. Zachariah's eyes flashed with annoyance as he turned towards Alex. "Hey, Alex. Aren't you some kind of hero? Do you dare hang out with us tomorrow?" he sneered at him.
Alex gave him a faint smile. He had always disdained Zachariah.
However, this guy was not giving up on Jessica.
If that were the case, he wouldn't mind being the hero one more time and save Jessica from this pest.
"What is there to be afraid of?" Alex questioned ironically as he raised his eyebrow.
Zachariah was rather gleeful so he looked at Jessica once again. "Come on, Jessica. Even your boyfriend is coming along! Are you really gonna leave him with us?" Jessica bit her lip and glanced towards Alex worriedly. Alex just said, "Just take a day off. We shall around Airedale, it'll be fun.”

"Alright then," Jessica nodded her head obediently. She was willing to go along with whatever Alex said.
Seeing the two of them had agreed, Zachariah couldn't help but feel a little excited.
"Alright then! Let's meet tomorrow at the plaza at ten o'clock in the morning," Zachariah said as he was walking away from them.
He had to prepare himself for tomorrow. He would reveal to Jessica the true face of her hero and that he was nothing but a mongrel!
At night, just as Alex was about to start his one-hour journey back home, he was persuaded to stay the night by the Hudson Family. Hence, he messaged Heather to inform her he would not return home at night.
Despite his seemingly non-existent marriage with Heather, he would carry out his duty as a husband as long as they hadn't signed the divorce papers.
Frankly, he was willing to stay married to Heather for the sake of his son. However, he was well aware that divorce was the only logical solution, considering how estranged their relationship had become. Victoria pulled Jessica away to chat, leaving Alex and the rest by themselves to play chess.
A few hours went by in a blink of an eye.
Victoria went to bed soon enough, as she was no longer as robust as she was.
When everyone realized how late it was, they started going back to their respective bedrooms.
