Chapter 819 Rejuvenation Pill

"Happy birthday, Old Mr. Grant! May you stay forever young," said Lydia.

Sitting in the main seat, Richard nodded with satisfaction and turned to another elderly man who was around his age. "This granddaughter of yours is sweet with her words, not to mention she's getting prettier every day. What on earth did you do to deserve such a wonderful granddaughter?"

Lydia blushed and approached her grandfather shyly when she heard Richard's praise.

Giles Siddall's heart swelled with pride as he glanced at Lydia, who hid behind him. The latter was his dearest granddaughter. Hence, he was delighted to hear his old friend praise her.

"That's because she inherited the Siddall family's wonderful genes," said Giles with a grin.

Just then, Alex and Maggie walked over to congratulate Richard.

Richard was delighted to see his granddaughter holding Alex's arm. Looks like I can let Alex marry her soon.

Alex, on the other hand, was startled to see Lydia standing behind Giles. He never expected to see her again.

Regardless, Alex did not dwell too much on it. Putting on a smile, he walked over and politely wished. Richard a happy birthday.

After all, the elderly man was not only Maggie's grandpa but also Alex's elder. It was only right for Alex to be respectful.

"Old Mr. Grant, I didn't prepare any expensive calligraphy for you since I figured you have a lot of them." As he was saying that, Alex took out an emerald box.

Maggie was puzzled by the sight of the emerald box, for she knew Alex did not prepare anything for Richard.

In fact, they went shopping two days ago and found nothing suitable. Back then, Maggie thought not care about her grandfather, but it turned out that Alex had already prepared the gift. What's in that ordinary-looking emerald box, though?

Maggie was not the only person curious about it. Everyone at the scene was also intrigued. Even Lydia staring unblinkingly at the emerald box in Alex's hand.

Without keeping everyone in suspense, Alex opened the emerald box to reveal five black beads that looked like cocoa beans.

The moment Lydia got a clearer look at the contents, she burst out laughing and said to Alex. "You ingrate. Are you actually giving cocoa beans as a birthday gift? What a joke."

-"Lydia!" Giles shouted. Hearing that, Lydia had no choice but to keep quiet and made a face at Alex.

Even so, everyone at the scene covered their mouths to laugh when they saw the things that looked like cocoa beans in the emerald box.

After all, it was Richard's birthday banquet. Everyone who attended it presented the former with valuable gifts such as famous paintings, antique tea sets, cash, and sports cars. Seeing someone present cocoa beans as a birthday gift was a first for them, and they could not wait for Richard to lose his temper and scold the

person who presented him with the gift.

Confusion was written all over Maggie's face as she stared at Alex. What's he up to? Don't tell me those are actually cocoa beans like what Lydia said. Here I was, thinking Aler was a reliable person. I can't believe he's actually giving cocoa beans to Grandpa for his birthday. This is ridiculous.

When her train of thought ended there, she leaned closer to him and asked, "Alex, what are you doing?"

However, Alex ignored her, for he knew Lydia's words had made everyone misunderstand. Even Richard's expression was turning into a scowl..

Then again, they could not be blamed for that. Smiling. Alex explained, "These aren't cocoa beans. They're Rejuvenation Pills I created myself."
