Chapter 829 Shameless

"I've already thought it through. Let's get a divorce!" Heather said without a second thought, handing Alex the divorce papers. There was no love left between them. The only thing that bound them together was the fact that Alex was the father to her child.

Now, her heart was set on the Four Seas Corporation chairman, whom she regarded as the ideal husband. and superior to Alex in every way.

Once she divorced Alex, she could pursue her love without any hindrance. I don't have to spend a lifetime with a loser anymore!

At that moment, Carmen walked up to Heather and reminded her, "Heather, how can you ask him for a divorce just like that? He promised you ten billion, you remember?"

She would not want her daughter to divorce Alex so easily. Heather was a renowned beauty in Nebula City and had given birth to a son with him. To Carmen, ten billion was not an unreasonable demand.

Lucas, who was sitting on the couch, also voiced his opinion. "Sis, you've been with this loser for years, so asking ten billion in alimony is not unreasonable at all. Besides, it's what he promised us. Don't tell me he's trying to back out now?"

Maggie could not bear it any longer as she watched this unfold. It was the first time she had witnessed how utterly shameless the Jenningses were, and it completely altered her perception of human nature. That woman fell in love with another man and wanted to file a divorce against her husband. Not only does she not want her child, but she even demanded ten billion from Alex. It's as if they see themselves as the victims being exploited

Maggie was appalled by the shamelessness of that family. Heather is nothing more than a fool. I can't she's willing to leave such an amazing husband.

After witnessing the true nature of Heather's family. Maggie could not help but empathize with Alex wondered how he had endured so much mistreatment and injustice in that family for such a long timTI Alex massaged his temple, took in a deep breath, and asked Flynn, "Earlier, I told you to prepare ten billion. Did you bring the money?"

"Yes, I have it with me." Flynn took out a card and handed it over to Alex.

Before heading to the Grant family's birthday banquet, Alex had instructed Flynn to prepare ten billion. Little did he know that it would come in handy so soon.

"Here. The ten billion you wanted. I'll sign the divorce papers now," Alex said, holding the card Flynn handed him and presenting it to Heather.

Heather did not take the card right away. It was her mother, Carmen, who snatched it from Alex. With an excited look on her face, she examined it carefully before casting him a suspicious look. "Does this card really contain ten billion? I'll check it first before we proceed with the divorce."

"Mom, I'll with you." Lucas hopped up from the couch. It's ten billion! It's our money now, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Filled with exhilaration, Lucas felt as if he could soar through the skies. However, just as they were about to head to the bank, they suddenly stopped in their tracks.

Carmen asked, "What's the password to this card? You haven't told us yet."

Alex answered without hesitation, "100425"

Heather's eyes narrowed instantly when she heard the string of numbers. She could not help but shudder.

Ten years ago, she had met Alex on the twenty-fifth of April. At the time, she had started pursuing her studies at the university. While exploring, she had nearly fallen victim to a group of delinquents.

At that moment, Alex had bravely stood up against a group of hooligans who had harassed her.

Back then, Alex had been like a hero whose presence instilled a profound sense of safety within her. She would have no fear whenever he was by her side.

But when did that perception of her hero begin to wane?

After their marriage, Alex became the embodiment of a useless freeloader in the eyes of those around them. It felt as though everyone around her echoed the sentiment that Alex was nothing more than a worthless burden.

Hearing these comments repeatedly, Heather, too, came to believe that Alex had indeed changed. In her mind, he had become someone unworthy of her companionship.
