Chapter 868 Inferior To That Of A Beggar

"Are you out of your mind? Why did you break my phone? Do you know how expensive it is? You are not going anywhere today until you compensate me with a new phone!" Daphne grabbed Maggie on the sleeve and refused to let her leave.

Maggie frowned and glared at Daphne, losing any tolerance that she previously had. Impatiently, she said, "You're the one who didn't catch the phone in time. You're the one who allowed the phone to be broken. What does that have to do with me?"

She clearly saw Daphne reaching her hand out. As Maggie was concerned and worried about Alex's safety, it didn't occur to her that Daphne was intentionally making a false move and had no intention of catching the phone.

As a result, the phone fell onto the ground.

Daphne showed no trace of embarrassment even after her scheme was discovered by Maggie. After all, she had never harbored any favorable impressions toward women like Maggie, who outshone her muty. "Well, so what if I did it on purpose? A woman like you who sneaks out in the middle of th your boyfriend must be up to something shady. You are off to replace another guy because ye can't satisfy you, aren't you? I'm disgusted that such a dirty woman like you touched my pli

Daphne looked at Maggie disdainfully as if she were a prostitute.

As the daughter of the Grant family in Lumenopolis, Maggie had never been humiliated or la prostitute before.

Burning with anger, Maggie thought of the times that Daphne repeatedly mocked her in the past. N. that Daphne offended her again, Maggie could no longer let it slide easily.

However, her priority was to replace out what happened to Alex. Maggie gave Daphne a fierce glare but she had no intention of dealing with her any longer.

"If you dare to stop me again, I will make sure your family's little business won't survive!" Maggie warned coldly.

She wasn't making an empty threat. The Grant family was indeed powerful enough to deal with a small. local company. Crushing Daphne's family business would be as easy as flicking a finger. However, instead of being afraid, Daphne thought Maggie was fond of bragging like what she thought of Alex.

Smirking disdainfully. Daphne snorted, "Does a penniless guy's girlfriend like you even know what my family does? My father's company is the leading force in Yaleview! How dare you boast about destroying us? You are indeed like your penniless boyfriend. Both of you like to brag!"

"One more thing that I don't understand," Daphne continued, "He has a five or six-year-old child, and yet you still cling to him. How shameless can you be!"

Maggie could still tolerate what Daphne said earlier, but she just crossed the line.

In an attempt to make herself look good, Daphne repeatedly belittled Maggie and humiliated her. Her behavior was truly disgusting.

Maggie raised her hand and slapped Daphne without hesitation. Staring at her emotionlessly, Maggie spat.

Inferior To That Of A Beggar

"You can look forward to the downfall of your family's company!"

With that said, Maggie did not intend to waste any more time dealing with Daphne. She turned around and left the hotel.

Right after exiting the hotel, she saw a person dressed in rags and covered in dirt at the entrance of the hotel. Surrounding him were a number of onlookers.

When Maggie got a closer look at the person's face, her tears flowed down her cheeks uncontrollably. She quickly ran toward him and threw herself into his arms.

The onlookers were astonished. They had been observing this beggar, who was dressed in tattered clothes and walked unsteadily.

The reason they fixated on him was that he stood out from other beggars. Despite being severely injured, he did not seek immediate medical attention or ask for money. Instead, he headed straight for the entrance of the best hotel near Green Mountain Monastery.

Before the onlookers could figure out what the injured beggar was up to, they saw a stunningly beautiful woman throwing herself into his dirty arms.

At that instant, all the men who were watching wanted to be a beggar if it meant that they would be embraced by a beautiful woman.

It was at that moment that they realized that their lives were somehow worse than that of a beggar!
