Chapter 971 A Hefty Compensation

Over at the police station. Aiden was pleading with the police officers.

"Please, I've been wrongfully accused! It was all because Alex got someone to beat me up. I was furious, so..." As he spoke, his confidence evaporated, and his voice became smaller and smaller.

"So you found someone to wreck his office? Your retaliatory methods are very ruthless. You could've made a police report after you got beaten up and let the authorities deal with the culprits." The person who spoke was Logan Marsden, Elsa's subordinate. A police officer in his thirties, he was skilled at interrogating criminals. Whenever he came across people like Aiden, who had no respect for the law, he never went easy on them.

"Exactly! If someone beat you up, you should've reported it to the police! Why did you bring a bunch of people to my company and thrash the place? And how can you be certain it was me?" Alex, who sat next to Aiden, piped up indignantly.

Those words sent anger rushing through Aiden. He's utterly shameless! If the police hadn't arrived so soon, my security guards would've incapacitated this obnoxious jerk. He got lucky, though. The police showed up just then, and he managed to escape his fate.

"D"mn it. Although you covered my head at the time, I heard your voice," he snapped.

Even as he recalled what had happened in the narrow alley, he could feel a throbbing pain in his crotch. I don't even know whether that kick caused any damage down there.

The more he thought about it, the more furious he became. Had he not been at the police station, he would have attacked Alex.

"There are many people who have similar voices, so how are you so sure it was me? Officer, you heard him. The chairman of Regenerateur Enterprises acted indiscriminately and led a group of people to destroy my office. That has caused heavy losses to my company!" Alex looked at Logan with an aggrieved expression that made it seem as though he was merely an average person whom Aiden had bullied. The sight of that enraged Aiden even further. How I wish I could take off the socks I've worn for a week and stuff them into Alex's mouth! Let's see if he can still act aggrieved after that!

Livid, he snarled, "Shut the f*ck up! You're such a coward that it's no wonder your company's security guards don't respect you. If you're a real man, let's take this outside. I'll replace someone to bludgeon you to death!"

After his company swapped out Four Seas Corporation's document and he had made Alex wait an hour at Happy Living. Aiden had secretly exulted. However, not only did Alex taunt him about his health during the meal, but the former also had him beaten up. Then, he got beaten again at Four Seas Corporation!

Due to all the pent-up frustration Aiden had to endure in one day, he was so overwhelmed with hatred toward Alex that he could no longer think straight.

No sooner had he said that than someone smacked him in the head. He was about to fly into a rage and yell at the person that hit him, but when he turned and saw that it was Logan, he had no choice but to swallow the torrent of curses he had been ready to unleash.

"Where do you think you are? You're at a police station. How dare you still think of killing someone? Do you need to be locked up for a few years for you to reflect on your actions?" Logan asked impatiently.

Upon hearing the mention of prison time, Aiden instantly lost his bravado, and his face fell. He glowered at Alex, not daring to utter another careless remark.

After that, he became very cooperative. I've no wish to get imprisoned because of this matter. I still have a long life ahead of me that I want to enjoy! I don't want to spend it in a dark cell.

When negotiating how much Regenerateur Enterprises should compensate Four Seas Corporation, Aiden did not think it would be a big deal. In his eyes, he had only damaged Four Seas Corporation's office building, so the compensation amount should only come up to one or two hundred thousand at most. Since he had a net worth of tens of billions, such an amount was nothing to him.

"Considering the considerable losses Regenerateur Enterprises has caused Four Seas Corporation, I won't let this matter slide unless I receive at least five hundred million. Otherwise, I'll sue you for maliciously damaging someone else's property and have you imprisoned," Alex demanded, sounding firm and unforgiving.

Even after observing that Aiden was red with anger, he refused to let up. Instead, he turned to Logan indifferently and asked, "Officer, what's the prison sentence for someone who caused someone else. massive losses by intentionally destroying that person's property and is uncooperative during questioning?"
