Chapter 60. War of the Bitches
Briana POV
Not long after I got back from the bathroom and settled back behind my table.! heard three knocks on the door. I got up from my seat and opened the door to Britney White
I was surprised when I saw her. She looked like she came in for war
She was clad in a red halter top that accentuated the size of her breast, the smaliness of her waist, and the contours of her hips. The hem fails just below her
She wore black stilettos.
And her face was glammed up. Britney White looked every inch the model she is. Her beauty jabbed me senseless.
I looked at my own formal office suit and frowned.
For the first time after those countless make–over sessions my brothers forced me to take, I felt an incredible wave of insecurity.
Britney White is beautiful. Compared to her, I was just so–so.
Even so, I don’t let it get to me. I squared my shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
I am not a Ford for nothing.
“What can I do for you, Miss White?”
The formality in my tone must have surprised her. Britney’s eyes widened in surprise. “Sheath your claws, Briana. I did not come here to fight.” She told me haughtily.
I left the door open and walked back to my desk. “What can I do for you, then?” I asked, showing her I was bored with this conversation, hoping it would hurry up her business.
But Britney must be thick–skinned or dense. She sashayed to my office like it was her catwalk. She stopped in the middle and looked around.
“Are you done snooping?” I asked a bit waspishly because Britney’s presence was slowly getting on my nerves.

I don’t like her anywhere in my territory.
She laughed daintily, but it sure sounded sarcastic in my ears.
“Am I taking too much of your time?” She asked coquettishly.
The simpering tone grated on my nerves.
I bet she usually does this to get her way.
How does Noah tolerate her?
I shook my head, reminding myself it was none of my business.
“I have a business to run. I don’t have all the time to listen to your nonsense.”
Britney laughed once more before she shed the act and showed me her claws. “If all
I came here for is nonsense, then why bother listening?” She lashed out.
Now, she’s baring her claws.
“Then get right on to business and stop wasting both our time. You asked for an audience, and I gave you one. Talk.” I snapped back.
“Noah told me you are the sweetest thing. But it appears he did not know this side of yours.” Britney arched her brow as if to taunt me.
I had enough.
1 marched up to the door to flung it wide open.
“You may go. I have had enough of your games, Ms. White.”
Whitney’s expression sharpened.
She nodded in agreement.
“I will go. But before that, I wanted to warn you off, Noah. Stay away from him.” She enuncated each word as if she were talking to an i*iot.
I put my arms across my chest and eyed her with narrowed slits.
“Why not tell Noah to back off? Why knock on my door instead? Are you afraid he would leave you for me?” I asked with so much bravado.
My chest heaved as blood surged in my brain. I am being catty, but what can I do?

Jealousy could really make us do foolish things.
“I am not afraid for myself. I can take care of myself,” Briney jabbed to her chest for emphasis.
“But I was concerned about my child.” She mumbled like she was having a hard time confiding in me.
“What do you mean?” I gulped.
This time, this growing animosity toward her has slackened its hold on my heart.
Britney blew air, making the tendrils of hair that clung to her forehead sway.
“I am pregnant with Noah’s child.” She dropped the bomb that had me reeling from standing.
I grappled for support and found the wall, pressing my palm on to keep my wobbly legs from giving way.
“You are pregnant?” I asked, though my insides were churning.
I thank years of training because my voice remained calm despite the fact that my knees were ready to collapse anytime.
This complication did not occur to me. Of course, I already prepared for Britney to become a re
fixture in my sons‘ life, but not a half–sibling.
Silly me!
“For the sake of my baby, please, let Noah go so he can concentrate on our budding family.”
This time, Britney has cast aside her pride and is now looking beseechingly at me.
I hated looking at her, so I turned my head to the other side.
I nodded b respond.
use I could not open my mouth to speak. I was too shocked to
I don’t know how long I stood there. I saw Britney leave, but I remained glued to where I was.
“Briana, what happened?” Martina came in, took in my appearance, and asked in shock.

She helped me to the couch, and when I got seated, she went out. When she came back, she was holding a glass of water.
“Drink this. You look so pale.” Her voice sounded worried.
I took the glass of water with trembling hands. The water sloshed, wetting my hand.
The glass slipped from my hold.
The sound of the broken glass penetrated our ears.
1 peered at the broken shards and realized it was like my relationship with Noah. It was broken and can never be fixed.
