Parrish was about to open the door but a man came and blocked our way.

Man: Oh, there’s my dear friend Stilinski! Is your father going to pay me?

Stiles says nothing and bows his head. Who is this man?

Man: It hurts when your father can’t pay the bills, doesn’t it? Looks like being a cop isn’t exactly a great way to make a living!

Who the hell is he to talk to her like that?! I was going to give him a dressing down but Parrish intervenes first.

Parrish: Brunski, we really need to talk to Meredith. She’s a major player in a police case.

Brunski: What if I say I don’t want to? Come back with a warrant. Your police business is none of my business!

Parrish: You were very happy when a police officer came to take you home the night you were walking drunk and completely naked in your neighbourhood!

Brunski says nothing more and I burst out laughing.

Stiles: No! But that’s funny!

I laugh even more and Brunski gives us the key ring before disappearing into a corridor.

Stiles: Parrish, I love you! You’re my idol!

Parrish laughs and we go into the bedroom. Meredith is sitting on her bed as if waiting for us. She kindly motions for us to sit down and we obey.

Lydia: Meredith, you know why we’re here, don’t you?

Meredith: Yes…

Lydia: Can you give us the third key please?

Meredith: No… Things have changed, I can’t help you anymore…

Lydia: Meredith… People are going to die if you don’t help us.

Meredith: I can’t help you anymore… He doesn’t want…

Parrish: Who are you talking about?

Meredith: The Benefactor… He doesn’t want to…

The poor thing. She seems so lost and so sensitive… I feel so bad she’s here. She must not have been mad when she was interned… She wasn’t lucky enough to run into a pack and thought she was mad… I look at Lydia and she looks really angry.

Lydia: Meredith! Give us the third key!

Meredith: I can’t… I’m sorry, I just… He doesn’t want it!

Lydia: Meredith/

Parrish: Lydia, she can’t help us, we have to leave.

She understands her mistake and stays put. Meredith is curled up in the corner of her bed and talking so fast that I can’t understand a word she’s saying. I slowly get up from the bed and approach her.

Me: Calm down, Meredith… We’re sorry.

Meredith: I CAN’T HELP YOU!

She had screamed so loudly that I recoiled. I can’t see clearly but I catch myself on something. Or rather someone. Stiles. He grabs me by the waist so I don’t fall and I smile at him.

  • What have you done? Get out of here now!

Stiles leads me out of the room with everyone else on our heels and Brunski slams the door behind us.

Stiles: Oh my God Hannah! You’re bleeding!

Me: What?

He takes my head in his hands and runs his finger over my ear to show me a trace of b***d. I look at Lydia and I can see so much sadness in her face. I pull away from Stiles and walk over to her side.

Me: Lydia it’s okay, Meredith’s going to be fine come on!

Lydia: But… You! I… I… Because of me, you’re hurt…

Me: I’m not in pain and you didn’t do it on purpose! You wanted to replace the third key and save us all.

I take her in my arms to calm her down and we leave this madhouse to get back to the car, where Parrish says he’s going to drive given Lydia’s condition. I sit in the back with Stiles. It’s already dark outside and I rest my head on his shoulder to fall asleep and he takes my hand. I hug it before falling asleep.
