Hannah!

She’s in the cellar!

I’ll be right behind you!

I hear Stiles and my brother upstairs but I don’t move. Tracy’s dead. An innocent. I couldn’t save her and she lost her life.

Stiles: Oh my God! Hannah!

Two arms around me. Stiles’. Him, Deaton, and my brother came.

Me: I didn’t mean for this to happen! They came and killed her!

Scott: Who?

Me: I don’t know! They just… They were masked. I… Tracy’s dead. I swear I didn’t do anything…

I’m crying harder and holding myself against Stiles. I’m so exhausted. I feel like this day will never end.

Scott: We believe you, Hannah, don’t worry.

I nod and Stiles and I get up.

Deaton: She’s not returning to human form, I need to get her to the clinic.

Noah: No! This is a crime scene, I need to call the coroner.

Deaton: Then the coroner will be very surprised to see that this girl has scaly skin and a severed tail.

Noah: Nothing doing!

Stiles: Then start preparing your speech to explain to everyone that supernatural creatures live in Beaconhills.

Noah sighs

Noah: All right, make it quick!

We nod and all four of us grab Tracy and pull her towards the exit.

Later on

The boys went to the clinic but I preferred to accompany Lydia to the hospital with her mother.

Me: Natalie?

Natalie: Yes?

Me: Please don’t tell anyone what you saw tonight, please.

Natalie: All I saw was a crazy girl attacking everyone.

I breathe a sigh of relief and smile

Me: Thank you

She only answers me with a nod.

Liam, Stiles and Scott come and join us.

Me: Liam, where have you been?

Liam: With Masson, we found another hole than the one I fell into the other day, it looks like someone is having fun burying people.

Me: And do you know who was inside?

Liam: Tracy.

He shows me a photo of Tracy and then a necklace. The same necklace she has around her neck.

Liam: I found it in one of the holes.

Me: It looks like something out of a horror movie!

I laugh in spite of myself. I’m really exhausted. We’re going to join the others around Mum.

Me: How’s Lydia?

Mum: It could have been worse, by the way Théo, well done for the tourniquet, you probably saved her life.

He nods proudly but I’m not really paying attention.

Mum: Lydia’s about to go into surgery, is there anything you need to know before she goes?

Kira: It was Tracy’s c**k that did her in.

She nods.

Mum: OK, thanks, I’ve got to go now.

Me: Good luck Mum

I hold her close to me

Mum : Thanks, go to sleep now

She goes into the operating theatre and I sit down on one of the chairs.

Stiles: What are you doing?

Me : Well, I’m waiting, like you

Scott: Hannah, you need to go to sleep, you can barely stand up.

Me: No, come on, I’m fine.

Allison: How long has it been since you had a good night’s sleep?

I’m thinking

Stiles: If you’re thinking, it’s been too long. Come on.

Allison: I’ll walk you to the door.

Scott: Thanks, Allison.

They smile at each other and we go to the door.

Me: Are you coming with me, Stiles?

Stiles: Of course.

I smile at him and we wave to Allison before getting into the jeep

Stiles’ house

Stiles writes down everything he’s seen today, Tracy, Kanima etc… I get up from his bed and write down “masked man”. He looks at me and smiles

Me: What?

Stiles: I love you

I smile back and put my lips on his.

Teacher: The transmission of DNA to the cell. If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is identical to that of other humans, how do you explain that 0.1% difference, Theo?

Theo : Er… Nucleotides

Prof : Right, bravo

I look at Scott’s paper. At first it’s all notes from class, then it talks about Tracy. I have to help him

I nod and turn to my brother. Looks like we’re going to have to do some research!

Later on

We’re in the library. We only have a few books about chimeras, but it’s enough. Stiles arrives and seems a bit discouraged.

Me: Did you get through to Lydia?

Stiles: No, they say only her family are allowed to see her.

Me: Great.

Allison: But we’ve got news!

She’s taking out a book that says “bestiary”.

Me: Is there something about the chimera?

Stiles: The what?

Scott: A chimera. A being composed of multiple DNA. Like Tracy, half wolf half Kanima.

Stiles: Ah…

Me: But if Liam found two holes, that means someone’s become… Something.

Liam: Super accurate!

Me: Thanks a lot!

The evening

I’m still flipping through the pages of the bestiary. Everyone’s gone except Stiles and me, but Stiles is asleep on the books. I stop when I see that I have a message from my father

[Dad: Did you forget our dinner?]

Crap. Yeah, I forgot.

[Me: I’ll be there in two minutes ]

I put some books in my bag and get up.

Me: Stiles, wake up and go home. I’m having dinner with my dad so I’ll meet you after.

I start to leave but he doesn’t move. I sigh and come back

Me: Stilinskie wake up

He mumbles something but I manage to hear “Yes” Great! I put my lips against his cheek and walk out of the school to the side and teleport home.
