Sour Souls The Morningstar Series Book 6 -
Sour Souls Chapter 11
"Do not say that to her you f*****g a*****e." A girl said.
She walked around Ares large body to smile at me. Wow, she's really pretty. She looks almost exactly like Ares. Same raven black hair, though hers is curly, and wild. Kind of like mine. They have very similar features. The only difference is this girl has green eyes that
glow.
Are they related?
"Hi, I'm Akeehla, you can call me Kee." She said.
"Hi." I said.
"Can I sit with you?" She asked.
"Uhh, one sec." I said.
I got up to walk to my bed. I grabbed the pillow I was finally given two years ago. It's a raggedy old thing, but a lot more comfortable to sit on then this dirty floor. I sat it down before sitting back where I was. Then I looked up at Kee.
"It's a lot more comfortable than the floor." I said.
Kee smiled at me, and took her seat.
"Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome." I replied.
Then I gave Ares a bored look.
"You can't sit down, so don't even ask." I said.
Ares raised a brow at me.
"I'll sit if I want to-"
"You can sit on the other side of the bars then." I interrupted. "This is my cell. My rules." I stated.
Both of Ares perfect dark eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"You are awfully cocky for a prisoner." He commented.
I shrugged.
"So," Kee said getting my attention. "Will you tell me your name?" She asked.
Should I? I've already talked a bit to Ares, but I haven't said anything useful. Does that mean that Noah is still safe though?
"Listen," Kee put her hand on mine. "We are here to help. We are going to get you out of here. I promise. But you need to tell us something."
I stared at her.
"Promises mean nothing." I stated.
Kee gave me a sad look. Her eyes glossed over for a second. Is she mind linking?
Ares let out a low growl.
"Control yourself." I scoffed at him.
Ares glared at me. Kee had to cover her mouth to hid her laughter. I... have no idea why I said that.
We like to tease our mate. Honi said amused.
"I think we need to tell her a bit of the truth if you want her to talk. I can't sift through her thoughts like others. Something in her is different." Kee said. I frowned.
Ares sighed. "We know that you are the sister of the young Beta. We are here to investigate your Alpha-"
My eyes snapped to his.
"Frederick is not my Alpha." I stated dangerously.
A look of.. pride (?) surfaced in Ares eyes.
"We came here to investigate the Alpha." Ares corrected himself. "There is word that he has been sex trafficking young wolves." He told me.
I chewed on my bottom lip.
Should I tell them what I know, and risk my family? They would be in danger. Alpha Frederick will kill them all. And this is his pack, he'd get away with it.
"He won't." Kee said.
"He will." I argued.
Wait.
"Did I say that out loud?" I asked her.
Kee shook her head. "I can read your mind." She told me.
"You can?" I asked shocked.
Kee nodded. "I don't like to, but you wouldn't tell us anything. The Alpha, along with his Gamma, and his closest warriors are all being held in a room. We also have Noah, Talia, her mate, and her grandmother safe somewhere else." She told me. "They're.. safe?" I asked.
Kee nodded. "The rest of our team is with them all to protect them. I promise that they will not get hurt." She said.
I shook my head. "Then why am I still down here?" I asked.
Ares huffed. "Because I told you that you are not leaving until you tell me everything." He said.
I frowned up at him. "And I told you to say please."
Kee snorted earning a glare from Ares.
"What's your name?" Kee asked.
"Emilia, but you can call me Emi." I said, and then looked up at Ares. "You can call me Emilia."
Kee snorted again, and Ares just glared at me.
"How long have you been down here?" Kee asked.
I looked back to her.
"Five years. I think." I said.
"You think?" Ares asked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Well, it's not too easy to keep track with no windows." I said.
"Do they feed you?" Kee asked.
I shrugged. "Sometimes." I said.
Ares growled, but Kee ignored him.
"When was the last time you ate?" She asked.
"Three days ago." I said.
Ares let out another growl.
"I told you to control yourself." I said annoyed.
"His wolf is having a hard time hearing how his mate has been treated for the last five years." Kee told me.
"Should have seen my life before that." I grumbled.
"What does that mean?" Kee asked. "What was it like?" She asked.
I looked at her.
"What does my life matter? I thought that you were here to ask about the trafficking." I said.
Kee smiled. "We already found all the evidence we need. Alpha Frederick is only waiting for his death. Not that he knows that." She said amused.
"Then why are you asking me this?" I asked honestly. "I don't matter, I'm a prisoner."
"You matter." Ares argued.
"Not enough to take me out of this f*****g dungeon." I retorted.
"Emi," Kee said getting my attention. "We want to know about your life. Ares is your mate, I am your new sister. Please, tell us."
I sighed. "I.. I came to this pack when I was six. My mom was mated to the Beta. Everyone.. was mean to me because I'm a bastard child."
Ares growled.
We ignored him.
"My mom died giving birth to Noah. Dave couldn't handle losing his mate. He forced me to raise Noah. So, I did. I raised my little brother when I was only 10. I recieved almost daily beatings from Dave." "Why didn't you tell anyone?" Kee asked interrupting me.
I gave her a strange look.
"Not one person in this pack was not aware of the abuse." I told her.
Kee's jaw tightened. "They didn't help you?" She asked.
"Not after what the Alpha did to Dr. Stevens." I mumbled. "I'd rather it be that way. I don't need anyone getting hurt over me." I said.
"That's bullshit." Kee said.
I shrugged.
"Is that why you killed him?" She asked.
I shook my head.
"He went after Noah. I couldn't let it happen. I just... I couldn't. Noah was always such a sweet boy.. He didn't deserve this life." I said. "How did you do it?" Kee asked.
My eyes flickered up to Ares. He still has the same menacing expression on his face. Hopefully the believes what I'm about to tell them.
"I don't know. I just.. screamed." I said.
Kee gave me a nod.
"What's it been like for you since you've been down here?" She asked.
I turned my head. "Nothing I can't handle." I said.
"Do they let you shower somewhere? You don't look as dirty as I would expect from someone who has been locked up for five years." Kee said.
"They hose me down once a month with wolfsbane mixed in the water. That was last week." I said.
The two of them were quiet for a moment. I'm too ashamed to look up at them. Does Ares regret coming down here to replace me now?
A loud growl sounded in the room. My eyes snapped up in time to see Ares turn on his heal to leave. My heart rate spiked as I watched him walk away. "Relax." Kee told me. "He'll be right back."
I looked at her, and frowned.
"Where did he go?" I asked.
"He finally got permission to kill Alpha Frederick."

Kee looked into my mates mind the entire time she talked. She kept the link open, and relayed images of what she saw. I'm having hard time keeping Rex back.
Rex wants blood. Hell, I want blood. And we will have it. All I'm waiting for is Ryce to tell me I can kill this bastard, and all of his minons.
We found the information we needed right where that Omega told me. It gave us all the evidence we needed. Ryce said he had to handle a few things, and then was going to pop right over.
Then I found my mate down here. I mind linked Kee to call Ryce. Then I told her to come down here since my mate is a stubborn little thing.
I inspected her as she spoke with Kee. She's so scrawny. Nothing but skin, and bone. There is dirt covering her beautiful face. Her clothes are tattered rags. The more I look at her, the angier I get.
You need to calm down. Kee told me.
Am I scaring her? I asked.
No, but you have to wait until Ryce tells us it's okay. She said.
My mate continued to answer questions for Kee. I'm even more thankful that I asked for Kee to come on this mission now. I wouldn't be able to help as well without her.
After Emilia started to talk about her life before getting locked up, Kee sent all the images that flashed through my mates head. That was the last straw for me. Permission or not, I am slaughtering that f*****g bastard. You're lucky. Kee said as I walked away. Ryce just texted Karla back. Go kill them all brother.
I stomped my way back to the pack house. We kept the Alpha locked in his conference room. He's in there along with his Gamma, and twenty five of his closest warriors. Derek and Talia are sure that the others don't know much. If it weren't for the two of them, I would have slaughtered every single member of this pack.
"Mr. Morningstar, did you replace her?" Talia asked once I reached the room.
Talia, and Derek kept watch along with Karla. They have proven to be very useful, and loyal. At least my mate had a few people willing to fight for her in this hell hole.
I ignored Talia's question, and looked at Karla.
"Don't let them in." I ordered.
"But.." Talia trailed off.
Karla nodded. "Come, let's go check on Granny. I bet her apple pie is done." She said.
I opened the doors to the room.
"Trust me, you don't want to be here." Karla said as she ushered the two warriors out.
I walked into the room, and closed the doors behind me.
"What is the meaning of this?! You cannot keep me locked away in my own pack!" Frederick roared.
I pushed my aura through the room. The smell of fear is thick in the air. I used my magic to seal the doors, and windows. No one will me escaping me.
"We found all the evidence we needed when it came to the trrafficking Frederick." I stated.
Frederick gulped.
"I don't know what you-"
"Cut the bullshit Frederick. We found your hidden room in your office. We found all the files. We already sent them to the Lycan King. You're finished Alpha." I seethed. Frederick laughed. "Well, I guess we will just be waiting for King Ryce then."
I shook my head. "No. I will be handling this." I stated.
Frederick scoffed. "You can't do that. We have rules set in place. You don't even belong to a pack. You're just a filthy Morningstar." He laughed.
The room grew cold. The scent of fear grew thicker. I chuckled darkly.
"I went into your dungeon Frederick, and you'll never guess what I found down there." I said.
"That stupid bitch isn't important now. What do I care if you found her?" He sneered.
"You should." I said.
"And whys that? Because she knows about what I've been doing? Please." Frederick said.
"Because she's my mate." I stated.
The room froze. Frederick's eyes went wide as they stared at me. Every single person in this room has fear in their eyes. Everyone, but me.
I took a step towards the Alpha.
"I have permission from the Lycan King already. You tortured my mate-"
"She killed my Beta." Frederick interrupted me.
I scoffed. "I don't give a fuck who she killed. She is my mate." I said. "Now, you all will pay."
I let out a ferice growl that shook the whole room. My claws extended. I licked my lips as a sinister smile spread across my face.
"I'm going to enjoy this." I said.
Then I started slicing. I started with the warriors. They desperately tried to attack, but it's no use.
Not only am I much stronger, but they have not been training well lately. They came at me, but all were too slow, too weak. I took hits that felt like air. I felt claws that healed instantly.
I kept slicing at every person that came at me. The ones that were too scared to attack me, I went after next. I snapped necks, slit throats, anything I could to feed my blood [**t. Once all the warriors were dead I looked to the Gamma.
"I sure hope you are more of a challenge than your warriors." I teased.
The Gamma ran for me. I side stepped him, and he went flying into a wall. How disappointing.
I grabbed him by the back of his neck, and slammed his face into the wall. Over, and over. I let out a loud roar as I continued to smash the Gamma's head.
Finally, I stopped. I dropped the Gamma. His head is completely smashed in. Good.
Then I looked at the Alpha.
Frederick shrinked back as he fell to the floor. I stalked towards him slowly. The smell of urine filled the room.
"Pathetic." I said.
I snatched Frederick up by his throat, and lifted him into the air.
"P-p-please.." He choked out.
"You are lucky that my mate is waiting for me. Otherwise, I would drag this out. I would t*****e you the same way you tortured her." I seethed.
"P-please... I-I'm so..rr-" He choked out while grasping for air.
"Good for me that I'll be able to torture you in Hell." I chuckled darkly. "Until we meet again, Alpha."
Then I snapped his neck.
I dropped Frederick, and he fell to the ground in a heap. My breathing is still coming out harsh. It wasn't enough. I should have made him pay more for what he did to Emilia.
Let's go replace him in Hell right now. Rex said.
I thought about it for a second, but then shook my head.
Emilia needs us. I said.
Rex growled in agreement.
I walked out of the room, and was met with many Omega's. The all tried to stare past me, but I closed the doors. Before I could say anything the front doors to the pack house burst open.
"Ah, there you are Ares." Ryce said.
"Alpha Ryce." I greeted.
"Did you handle it?" He asked once he got closer to me.
I nodded.
Ryce looked me up and down.
"I see you've made quite the mess." He said.
I looked down at my body. I'm covered in blood. I probably look terrifying.
"How is your mate?" Ryce asked.
"I'm about to go get her." I said as I tried to walk past him.
Ryce put his hand on my shoulder.
"Like this? You'll scare her." He said.
I shook my head. "She doesn't scare easy." I said.
"You tried already?" Ryce asked amused.
I turned a blank expression to him.
"I was just being myself." I stated.
"Which is totally scary."
A little mini version of Ryce walked around him. I looked down at Wren, and back up to Ryce.
"You brought your nine year old daughter?" I asked.
Ryce shrugged. "I want to prepare her more than my father did for me. She'll have to learn eventually. Plus, Wrenly is powerful, she can handle it." He said.
"Hi Uncle Ares." Wrenly said. "I'd hug ya, but..." She trailed off as she looked me up and down.
"Well, Wrenly and I will take care of things from here. You go get your mate." Ryce told me.
I nodded, then looked at the Omega's that are still around watching the interaction.
"I want one of you to bring food to my room. Lots of it. And water. And I want the pack doctor there right away." I ordered.
Then I stormed out of the pack house. I practically ran my way back to the dungeon. I stomped all the way back to the last cell on the left.
Kee is still here talking with Emilia. The cell door is still open. I stood there for a moment before their eyes finally fell onto me.
Kee frowned as she took in my bloody attire. Emilia gasped softly, but didn't take her eyes from me. I'm not sure what that means.
Is she afraid of me?
I walked into the cell, and up to Emilia. She immideately got to her feet, and backed away from me. I backed her into the wall. "Ares, maybe you should give her some space." Kee said.
Emilia's heart rate sky rocketed. Her breathing became harsher, but she isn't afraid. I don't smell fear coming from her.
"Why are you covered in blood? You smell disgusting." Emilia said.
I had to fight back my laughter. No one has ever talked to me the way she does. I like it a lot more than I will ever admit.
"Is it taken care of?" Kee asked.
I nodded.
"Is what taken care of?" Emilia asked.
I stared into her hazel eyes.
"The Alpha is dead." I stated.
Emilia's eyes went wide.
"What?" She breathed out.
"He was going to die anyways. I was just lucky enough to be able to do it." I said. "He tortured my mate. I slaughtered his warriors, and his Gamma. Before finally ending his pathetic life." I said.
Emiliar stared up at me in awe.
That's not the reaction I was expecting to see in her eyes.
"Why? I.. I'm nobody." She whispered.
I reached up to touch her cheek. Sparks erupted through my fingers, and up my arm. This is the first time I've touched her. It feels so good.
"You are not a nobody." I said danergously. "You are Emilia Every Moore." I stated.
Emilia's eyes went wide.
I smirked. "Well, I guess you have a different last name now that you're mine." I said.
"W-w-what is it?" Emilia asked breathlessly.
"Now you are Emilia Every Morningstar."
