Spoiled by Eight Uncles (Lily) -
Chapter 1532 Youth
From that day on, the tattletale had set his sights on Lilly. He was determined to replace even the slightest inconsistency in her story. He didn't believe for a second that her perfect scores were due to her hard work. He certainly didn't believe that her absence from school in the first two years was due to her receiving treatment abroad. He was convinced that she had to have had prior knowledge of the exam papers. Perhaps her family had secretly hired a private tutor to give her extra lessons at home!
As Lilly and Hannah walked around the campus, Hannah took her by the arm and said, "Come on. Let me introduce you to the empire I have built!"
Lilly swept her gaze across the buildings before her. She could tell that the two buildings were the junior and high school, respectively. However, there were a few that she couldn't identify.
"What are those tall buildings over there?" Lilly asked curiously.
Hannah covered her eyes and replied, "Don't bother with those. I haven't conquered that particular area just yet."
Lilly tilted her head in confusion.
Hannah explained, "That building across the street is Naurity University. I haven't started college yet, have I? You can come once I've established my status as someone at the top of the food chain!" Lilly chuckled and said, "Hannah, are you sure you can get in?"
The self-dictation pen wasn't omnipotent. Instead, the knowledge it possessed was tied to its master.
Lilly was worried that Hannah might get carried away and neglect her studies, which would make it impossible for her to get into Naurity University.
This area was an education hub. There were numerous middle and high schools peppered around the area. Hence, it was natural that two of the top universities in the country were also here.
Naurity University was one of the top 10 universities in the country. Hannah should have no problem getting into college. Nonetheless, it was a completely different thing if she was aiming to get into such a prestigious institution.
"What are you talking about?!" Hannah retorted, "I can definitely do it!"
The more Hannah thought about it, the more confident she felt. She had never been particularly enthusiastic about Naurity University. Still, she was feeling very differently about it now.
Yes, she would go there to pave the way for Lilly. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to develop her empire.
"Over here!" Hannah led Lilly on a tour of the middle school section.
Wherever they went, people would shout, "Hey, Hannah!"
"Hello, Hannah!"
Some would approach her and hand her drinks. Others would come over with blushing cheeks and hand her... Are those love letters?!
Lilly's eyes widened in shock. Wait, what did she just see? Someone was actually giving Hannah a love letter?!
The boy who had delivered the love letter fled the scene with a bashful look on his face.
Lilly was so astonished she didn't even know what to say. All she could do was stare at the scented letter.
Hannah, who was oblivious to the situation, didn't think it was a big deal. She simply handed the pink, heart-decorated letter to Lilly and said, "See? This is proof of my charisma and status in this world! I have minions constantly expressing their loyalty and admiration to me!"
Lilly could feel the corner of her lips twitching at Hannah's blase attitude.
She only took a quick glance at the letter and saw the words, 'You are like the bright moon in the sky. I gaze at you every day."
Although she hadn't read through the entire thing, that didn't sound like a letter from someone proclaiming his loyalty to her.
Hannah rested her arm around Lilly's shoulder as she waved her hand in a diva-like manner and said, "Everyone! Let me introduce you to my sister! I'm sure all of you know what you need to do!"
They started chattering, "If she's Hannah's sister, then she's our sister, too!"
"Don't worry, little sister! We've got your back now that you're in junior high!"
"Hannah, you introduce her at least 800 times a day. Aren't you tired of it? Well, if you aren't, we are!"
Of course, there wasn't any heat behind those teasing words. Everyone laughed and joked around. Someone even brought some water for Lilly. Soon, they made themselves comfortable under the trees. They weren't talking about anything serious since it was their break. So, they were simply fooling around as they gossiped about their teachers and classmates.
Of course, the most discussed topic was about the level they had reached in their games. How they had unleashed a great move just in the nick of time. Then, it would devolve into how awesome that move was back then.
A breeze blew by. Lilly tilted her face up to feel the sunshine as she watched a group of young boys and girls brimming with youth.
Each face was filled with vigor. Lilly really liked this atmosphere.
She had thought that Hannah was a school bully. To be fair, Hannah did act as though she would beat people up at the drop of the hat.
Fortunately, she was sorely mistaken, as it turned out that she had made a bunch of friends. Hannah had never bullied anyone. Rather, she had become the leader of this group based on her own abilities. Lilly smiled as she listened to their bragging. Then, she followed Hannah to the high school section.
She rarely bothered venturing past the junior high area. Although they were next to each other, everyone was always in a hurry to get to their own classrooms. So, most people were inclined to stay in their own
areas.
"Guys, get your *ss over here! My sister's here!" Hannah was acting like a proud parent, showing off her child as she announced smugly, "This is my baby sister. You guys had better keep an eye on her!" In her eyes, Lilly was perfect in every way. Of course, it didn't hurt that Lilly was gorgeous with her beautiful face and eyes.
Goodness, her features were exquisite. They were all human. Yet, Lilly had managed to surpass them all in terms of looks. Sometimes, Hannah would wonder just how she lucked out in the gene pool department.
The boys, who were playing basketball, immediately came over, pushing Hannah to the side.
"Oh, you're here, Lilly? Are you thirsty? Here you go. I've prepared water for you."
"What's so good about boring water?! Take mine, Lilly. I've gotten you orange juice."
"The orange juice you bought is just orange, no juice! Here, Lilly. This is a juice that I brought from home. My mom made it herself!"
Hannah was hopping around on the outskirts, saying, "You guys!"
She was fuming.
I've miscalculated badly.
She suddenly realized something was off!
She wasn't protecting her little sister. Alas, it seemed that she had somehow pushed her darling Lilly into a wolf's den!
"Get out of my way!" Hannah yanked Lilly behind her and said, "You idiots dare to covet my sister, huh? Are you guys asking for a beating? My sister is mine! You got that? Whoever dares to compete with me for my sister and dreams of becoming my brother-in-law... I swear eternal enmity for the crime of stealing Lilly from me!"
Everyone burst into laughter as they started yanking Hannah's chain.
Nevertheless, Hannah did have a certain reputation. So, even though they were joking around, they understood that she was serious. Therefore, they respected her and didn't dare to harbor any questionable thoughts about Lilly, at least not to Hannah's face.
Lilly was enjoying the 'campus darling' life under her sister's protection. She couldn't help but feel gratified that she didn't have to bother about school hierarchy. She was definitely delighted that she wouldn't have to worry about her duties. All she needed to do was be a good student.
Man, I wish this life could go on forever.
Regrettably, there was an individual hiding in the darkness, observing Lilly with a contemptuous expression on his face.
"That girl is associating with a group of troublemakers. Lilly Crawford is not as commendable as the teacher claims!" The informant hurriedly departed, exclaiming, "I am going to inform the teacher about this!"
