Stop It, She’s Remarrying (Fia and Conrad) -
Chapter 1102
Chapter 1102
"Yes. I was afraid that I would not make it back. I was afraid that my children would lose their mother."
She turned to look at the man. "However, I owe you my thanks."
The man looked at her deeply.
"When I was in training, you brought Adrian and Irene up very well." During those days, she would be fearful while she was training, worried that this madman would hurt her two children.
In the beginning, after the training was done each day, he would carry the two children over to see her.
Her body was covered in wounds, and she wished for nothing more than to lie down and never get back up.
However, every time she saw him carrying her children over, no matter how tired she was or how much she suffered, she would struggle to get back
1.
Carrying her son and daughter in their swaddles with trembling hands, she would not feel she suffered.
"Am I amazing?" the man asked.
Fia smiled, her smile cool and indifferent.
"If you aren't amazing, how would I be here today?"
She spread her hands, looking at the scars left on her palms.
"It's a radical change. I no longer have to worry about being unable to protect the children." Under the moonlight, when she was not paying attention, a hint of worry flashed in the man's blue eyes. Those days and nights, he had been cold and cruel, watching her be so devastated that there were many times she was almost unable to make it through the extremely difficult training. The only thing he could do was carry the pair of children to meet her.
He was also afraid, afraid that she did not have enough hatred in her bones, fearful that she could not hold on.
"Fia, do you want to know my name?"
"No." Fia lowered her head and smiled, really uninterested to know.
"You have already seen my face. Don't you want to know my name?" the man asked dubiously.
Fia turned to look at him. "You have already left a handle with me by exposing yourself before me."
The man's eyes blinked lightly. "I could blind your eyes."
"Forget it. You're so serious even when joking." Fia felt that this person was no fun, but still added on, "In Adrian and Irene's eyes, you are their father." She hesitated for a moment. "I won't beg you to treat them as your own flesh and blood, but I hope that you can maintain the way you are before them." The man asked, "What am I like before them?"
Fia thought about how he hugged the kids each time they met and how he would let the two children kiss him.
When he looked at the children, those blue eyes were like the quiet ocean, very clean.
"Peaceful, no blood lust."
However, she had seen his cruelty. No matter how gentle he was to Adrian and Irene, there was something in her heart that put her on her guard.
"Haha." The man gave a low laugh, not promising anything, not retorting.
Actions spoke louder than words. They'd see what would happen in the future.
Fia did not wish for him to promise anything and changed the topic. "Any missions as of late?" "Yes." The man dug out an exquisite black card from his pocket. Fia accepted it and frowned.
The man looked at her changing expression. "The signatory on it is my name. Lucifer."
Fia frowned, a fragment seemed to flit across the depths of her memory, but she did not think too deeply, nor did she pursue the question.
The situation today was quite good.
No asking about the past, no thinking about the future.
"How many days is the deadline?" she asked faintly.
"This time, the mission is a little ginormous. I permit you to bring Adrian and Irene out of the island," Lucifer said.
Fia looked at Lucifer in astonishment. "Aren't you afraid that I'll bring them away and never come back?"
"Haha!" Lucifer's laugh was arrogant. "You forget that you have a chaser on you. The chaser integrates into the bones. Without my antidote, no matter where you are for the rest of your life, I would be able to replace you."
Fia gave a self-deprecating smile. "Indeed, five years almost made me think you were my friend."
"Don't think that, Fia." Lucifer lowered his head as his hand drew casually in the sand. "Even friends would betray you one day. Don't ever have any hope toward other people. Only then. will you not self- destruct."
"I have friends." Fia spoke. "I do not have any anticipation toward friends, only
companionship. Only hoping that she would live well."
Lucifer subconsciously looked toward a direction in the darkness.
"Between true friends, there is no using each other or betrayal." Fia thought back on the night when the black villa exploded five years ago and Sophia went to search for her.
