Summoned and Unwanted
Chapter 284

284 A new day dawns

[The more time passes, the more I doubt you are Vincent.]

*Step, step*

Maid Xu and Sofy entered the hall. “One bedroom is prepared. Please go and rest while we keep an eye on the situation and wake you up if a situation arises.” Maid Xu offered.

“Leave the children in our care and go to rest. ” Sofy added.

Sofy wasn’t wearing a tattered piece of clothing anymore. Instead, she was wearing a summer maid outfit, and it looked great on her. Regrettably, the black collar tattoo became easier to see because of the white shirt’s collar.

Plow raised her ears when she heard about going to sleep. She got up from Olive’s lap and ran towards Vincent. The days of sleeping with Tula were over, the small blue fox thought.

“Vincent Vincent. Take Plow to sleep with you.” *Pho, pho* Plow wasn’t going to let her bed go away again. Not after missing to sleep on her favorite place, she likes to sleep on.

Vincent chuckled and lifted Plow. He gave the cute little fox a peck on her forehead.

“Let’s go to sleep then.” He said.

.....

Vincent and Ester walked beside each other, but Iris and Sakura didn’t follow them. Both felt it was going to be too embarrassing to sleep with Vincent in the same bedroom.

[These girls are cute, hehe. They looked shy whenever they heard about sleeping in one room. But that begs the question. What are they thinking about, hehe.]

Kazumi couldn’t help but tease Vincent.

“Iris, Sakura, what are you waiting for? Let’s go to check up on Lilith and Lupa. Then we’ll sleep to end this long and tiring day.” Vincent said.

*Pho* “Come come. I need a warm bed to sleep on. Plow is tired.” She added cheekily.

Iris and Sakura looked at each other.

Iris tried to think what the tall and strong demon would do in her situation, while Sakura tried to think what the small petite demigoblin would do in her situation.

“I can join instead, hehe. I only need to take the sleeping kids to their beds and join Master Vincent.” Sofy suggested.

However, Sofy’s suggestion was short-lived after Iris and Sakura made up their minds. The two of them approached Vincent with blush and averted their gaze.

Later, Vincent went upstairs and knocked on the door before entering. Inside he found Lilith sleeping beside her mother and the old maid sleeping on a chair. Only Leonis was awake.

“We are on our way to sleep. Call for us if something happens. And as for the flowers, we can turn them into seeds tomorrow.” Vincent said with a low voice.

Leonis nodded. “Thank you for what you did.” He didn’t express any negative feelings or wariness when he spoke.

Leonis felt grateful towards Vincent for saving their lives. He also felt slightly intimidated after he saw the destruction his attack left behind. The mysterious green fire burning the grass, flowers, and trees burned fiercely but extinguished quickly. It didn’t give enough time to spread.

Furthermore, hearing how one of Vincent’s women contributed to the pile of corpses caused Leonis to worry if his daughter would live a happy life or if she was going to start killing people.

“Hmm, the old maid needs more rest while mother-in-law looks better. ” Vincent informed after he checked their conditions.

“We are going to rest. Maid Xu and Sofy are taking care of the matters downstairs for the night. You should rest as well, father-in-law. I gave them a few instructions on when to wake us up.” Vincent said.

Vincent gave Maid Xu a few orders. He also asked not to wake Iris up when the Nine-Headed Hydra Flowers arrived. He also asked Sofy to let the flowers feed on her large mana pool and wake them up if the flowers show signs of dying.

“Thank you.” He once again told Vincent. “See you later.”

Leonis spoke warmly, and his demeanor showed great appreciation. His wife would have died regardless of whether Vincent was the one who caused the situation to happen or not. The assassins gave the impression of wanting to silence everyone involved.

Vincent looked at Lilith one more time and left the bedroom. He later entered Demel Blackheart’s bedroom and checked how Lupa was.

Vincent quietly left after she was doing fine. He didn’t want to wake her up.

Vincent and three women followed him. He found the arranged bedroom and entered inside. There wasn’t much prepared.

In the room was an open window without a curtain and a chandler without any light-producing gemstones. The room looked abandoned and quickly cleaned to allow someone to stay for the night. Ironically, the room gave the same impression of what actually happened.

Inside the room were two mattresses on the floor and one old bed frame on the side. The mattresses were placed beside each other, and a small nightstand with a whip and a candle were on it. Additionally, there were six pillowcases on the mattresses and a thin bedsheet.

[Hmm, this isn’t what I expected to see in a mansion of this caliber, but the only rooms near Lilith’s bedroom were taken care of to a certain degree.]

Vincent entered and lowered Plow on the mattress.

-You can’t smell the difference between here and that scam of a bedroom we rented. It’s like night and day, really.-

“Shall we sleep?” Vincent went to lay on the middle of the mattress without looking nervous nor embarrassed.

Plow cutely skipped over to Vincent with her eight tails happily wagging. She climbed on Vincent’s stomach, took a quick whiff, and happily lowered to sleep.

“Let’s sleep. He isn’t going to eat you, hehe.” Ester joked. She went to his right side to figure out why Lupa found to be the best side.

‘It’s the same.’ She thought.

Iris and Sakura looked at each other. Iris got used to sleeping not far from Vincent, but sleeping in a closed and private room gave a different vibe. It promoted multiple thoughts.

Sakura was of similar thoughts. She always slept by herself. Sleeping in the same room as a human who not only was a man, but he was the man with whom she decided to try a second chance in life with.

Both Iris and Sakura gulped.

Sakura walked first and slowly rested on the mattress. She gulped once more when there was less than half of a meter distance between them.

Sakura noticed Vincent remained with his eyes closed. He didn’t try to take advantage of her... if he could without using an ability. Sakura looked at his face until her eyes gradually closed.

Iris felt like she was the odd one out. She was only courageous when it involved danger. Iris was a shy and socially inexperienced woman. She could muster her courage in this harmless predicament.

The more Iris waited to muster her courage, the more embarrassed she felt for not trusting Vincent’s words to be an ordinary rest. Iris slowly went beside Sakura and rested on the mattress beside her.

Vincent opened his eyes and looked at the ceiling. He couldn’t sleep because Kazumi teased and giggled at what Iris and Sakura were doing.

The drama lover Kazumi was having fun and made it impossible to sleep. It took a while until he could sleep in peace.

*Day 69*

Vincent opened his eyes, but it was pitch black. His head lay on the softest pillow he experienced in his life, and another soft pillow was pressing against half his face.

“Huh?” Vincent raised his hands, and he understood immediately it wasn’t a pillow.

*Bam!*

“What are you doing to my little angel in broad daylight!” Leonis entered the room to replace Lilith alone with Vincent doing something indecent.

[Hahaha. You got caught lifting Lilith’s jugs in front of her father. I can see veins appearing on his forehead from anger. You are screwed big time.]

Vincent got up and quickly made some distance before Leonis snapped, and his temper got the best of him. However, Lilith didn’t help to change the situation.

Lilith smiled with a blush on her face and her glasses getting a bit steamy. Then she raised her hand to hide her face when she noticed her father staring at her. Furthermore, Vincent, Lilith, and Leonis were the only ones in the room. The others left.

“Father-in-law... good morning.” Vincent didn’t know what else to say other than it was a misunderstanding. So, he put on a friendly poker face. His heart, however, was racing like a roaring engine.

Maid Xu entered the room a moment later.

“My lord, lady Teresa is awake. Furthermore, Lady Teresa is requesting an audience with Vincent and lady Lilith. No one else is to disrupt them.” She informed.

[Nice save there. You got to live for a little bit more, hehe.]

“...” Leonis tried to calm his anger and turned around.

“Don’t make me see an indecent sight again. My little angel is still a widow.” Leonis looked defeated. He acted as if he couldn’t go against his wife’s wishes.

Leonis left. Vincent went to Lilith and extended his hand to help her stand up as it seemed her legs went numb from being a soft lap pillow. Later, the two of them followed Maid Xu holding hands.

‘Does Lilith know where the others went? Kazumi said nothing, so it should be safe. But I am still curious as to where they went.’ He thought.

Vincent curiously asked Lilith if she knew where the others sleeping with him went. Lilith started with what she heard from Ester, and he soon learned why she was giving him a lap pillow.
