Can you really haggle over cars?

From the get-go, Leo could tell Anya was a bit of a princess, completely clueless about the ways of the world. Jade, though also spoiled, had Chad by her side and wasn't entirely naive.

Mia... well, let's not even go there.

"Let me give it a shot, Chad~ I have no idea how," Anya said with an adorably clueless expression.

Leo couldn't help but chuckle. He was just teasing her, hoping she'd catch on and not be so naive.

With his smile, Leo looked like a dashing young nobleman, effortlessly charming.

Anya started thinking about how she was going to negotiate the price.

"Chad, you check out the cars. I'll be right back," she said before darting off.

Leo shook his head, amused. "No need to rush if you're just heading to the restroom."

He continued browsing cars while Anya retreated to the lounge, engrossed in her phone.

Before long, she saw a middle-aged woman haggling.

"400k is my final offer. This car is for my son's wedding. We could get a car for 200k, but he's set his heart on this one. Either accept 400k now, and we sign the deal today, or we'll take our business elsewhere. It's not like you're the only dealership in town," the woman was saying, trying to negotiate with a sharply dressed young salesman.

Anya took a sip of her water, silently absorbing the scene.

"Ma'am, I assure you, we've reduced our prices to the bone. 410k is really the lowest we can go," the salesman responded, trying to hold his ground.

The woman countered, "Look, my husband and I have worked hard all our lives. We've saved up a bit, but leaving us with some retirement money would be nice. 400k. I know you won't be making a loss."

Anya keenly observed the salesman's reaction.

"Alright, add 5k on top, and we have a deal. We can sign the contract now," the salesman conceded after a moment's hesitation.

Feeling somewhat prepared, Anya finished her water and went to replace Leo, who was inspecting a sleek car.

After a brief discussion, Leo asked the sales rep, "With taxes, registration, insurance, and all the other bits and pieces, what's the total?"

Sensing a sale, the sales rep led them to the lounge to work out the details, all smiles.

Back in her seat, Anya braced herself for the negotiation.

"Mr. Cedillo, the total for the sedan comes to 524k. This includes handling all the paperwork for you, and we'll throw in three maintenance services, a shatter-resistant film, and a dashcam. It's a popular model, so I wouldn't wait too long," the sales rep pitched. Leo cut to the chase, "What's the bottom line?"

The sales rep seemed uncomfortable. "Sir, our prices are non-negotiable."

"Let's not beat around the bush. Give me a fair number, and we can close this deal today," Leo pushed.

The rep, realizing Leo wasn't an easy mark, asked for his offer.

"400k," Anya interjected, stunning both Leo and the salesman.

Mimicking the earlier haggling scene, Anya said, "Chad's buying this as a wedding car. We could get by with a 200k car, but he likes this one, so we're considering it."

Leo was visibly shocked by Anya's boldness.

"400k, and we'll sign today. Otherwise, we're happy to look elsewhere. There are plenty of dealerships around," Anya added, playing the part of a tough negotiator.

The salesman, recovering from his surprise, firmly stated, "I'm sorry, but the lowest we can go is 510k."

Anya persisted, "400k. You've got to leave us some wedding money. We can't spend it all on the car."

Caught in the supposed wedding planning, Leo played along, "Yeah, we still have to buy our house."

Anya, doubling down, said, "Exactly. We haven't even bought the house yet. He's insisting on this car, and I wasn't even on board at first."

The salesman, now thoroughly confused, tried to replace common ground.

Leo, seeing an opportunity, offered, "470k, take it or leave it. If that works, we'll sign now; if not, we'll consider our options."

The salesman hesitated, "That's too low. We'd be making no profit at all."

Leo, bluffing, mentioned, "I could get it cheaper if I ordered directly from overseas. I'm just trying to save the hassle. Let's make this quick, or I'll use the down payment for our wedding house back in my hometown." Anya, thinking they were still paying too much, whispered to Leo, "You can only spend 410k on this car."

Leo, amused and slightly exasperated, told her to relax.

Anya, not giving up, reached out for help on her phone.

Switching tactics, she messaged her aunt, "Auntie, you there? Need some advice."

Molly, busy selecting wedding photos, saw the message. "Chad, pick the photos. I need to reply to this."

As Chad took over, browsing through their cherished memories, Molly responded, offering her niece some sage advice.

"Whoa, hold up, let me take the reins on this one." Molly immediately cut Chad off, then swiftly texted Anya back, "Auntie's got your back, what's up?"

Anya filled Molly in on the situation, "... Chad's still haggling over the price, they've gotten it down to $48,000, but I'm at a loss about how to help him out." Molly paused her photo selection, getting up to offer her niece some sage advice.
