Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 640
On the couch, the bride-to-be was absolutely smitten with her chubby little nephew, tirelessly caring for him every day.
All kinds of festive decorations, tiny red lanterns, and long red carpets were delivered to the Cedillo household.
During this time, Chad swung by too. He had submitted his wedding leave application, which got approved quickly. When he arrived at the Cedillos', he said with a grin, "I'm here to help out."
Everyone knew the score. With so many servants and family members around, what help was really needed? It was all about seeing certain people.
Holding the child, someone remarked, "Chad, look at Henry. Isn't he just like a little fish, blowing bubbles with his mouth?"
Henry let out an indignant "Ah!"
His aunt chimed in, "See, he admits it."
The air was festive, everything bathed in red.
On the branches, tender buds were adorned with tiny red lanterns. At the sight, the little guy immediately abandoned his toys-his drum, rattle, and rubber ducky. None of them seemed appealing anymore. His eyes were fixed on the strings of red lanterns, reaching out to grab them.
Mia and Anya shared meals every day, not letting it interfere with their classes.
Videos of Henry occasionally popped up in the family chat group, and Mia would immediately share them with her own family, the Irvins.
Cooper Irvin was probably the most excited, exclaiming, "Oh my, how can my little nephew be so adorable, totally skipping over his mom's looks."
Cooper was also the most surprised, "Sis, is your father-in-law turning seventy? Why all the red decor, making it look like something else?"
Since Andre was also in the group, Madison Irvin immediately made an international call to her son, giving him a piece of her mind about the recent happenings at home. Soon after, Cooper was shocked again, "What? Jade's getting married? To Chad?" That's when Mia chimed in, "Yep, come back for the wedding."
Sometimes, Mia, a novice, wasn't sure about wedding gifts.
At night, kneeling on the bed with her son slowly becoming more agile at rolling over and then smiling at her for praise, Mia gently stroked her son's back. Then, looking at her husband drying his hair after a bath, she asked, "Honey, how much should we give for Molly's wedding?"
Andre, sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling their son into his lap, replied, "Just match what big brother Naomi is giving; don't exceed what Dad's giving. That should be fine."
"Naomi asked me today how much would be appropriate. I told him I'd ask you tonight."
That evening, Anya also went to knock on Leo's door.
"Who is it?" Leo, busy at his computer desk, answered gruffly.
Anya said, "Chad, it's me."
"Oh, come in," Leo's tone softened as he hung up the call to open the door for Anya. "What's up?"
Anya shared her dilemma, "Aunt's getting married. Should I give money? I read online that even bridesmaids give money."
Attending a wedding as an adult for the first time, Anya was a bit lost.
"You're not grown up yet, not married, no job, not graduated, you don't need to. They might even end up giving you money," Leo reassured her.
"So, I just show up to eat?" That seemed awkward to her.
Leo advised, "Your parents will definitely bring a gift. If you feel awkward going empty-handed, just buy a small gift to show your affection."
Anya seemed to understand what she needed to do, nodding, "Okay."
"Anything else?"
Anya shook her head at Leo's doorway.
"Then off to bed with you. I don't need a guardian deity at my door," the straightforward man said, shooing Anya away.
During her visit, Molly, holding Andre's son, returned to the Byrne family for a while. Henry instantly became the center of attention, surrounded by the festive joy of the Byrnes. Grandma Aubree and Grandpa Elmer hugged him, while Mr. & Mrs. Byrne took turns holding him. The little one, unfamiliar with the setting, began to cry, but even his cries were adored by the Byrnes. "Just listen, such a strong little cry."
Leo, who drove Molly, despite being unreliable at home, was praised by everyone outside.
Seeing his brother, Henry, with teary eyes and a pout, wanted a hug.
Like a gentleman, Leo approached with a smile, taking the little one in his arms. "Henry still recognizes his brother."
He sat on the couch with Henry, chatting with Grandma Aubrey and Grandpa Elmer, while Molly and Coleen discussed the arrangements.
"Mum, the crew will be here the day after tomorrow. Let them handle the rest. I'll check out the wedding venue in a bit," Molly said as they were leaving.
After about two hours at the Byrnes, they left in Leo's car, which was back in action.
In the back seat, Molly, holding Henry, suggested, "Jade, let's swing by the school. Anya should be out. You wanted to check the wedding venue, right? We can all go and give you our opinions."
Naturally, Molly agreed, pinching Henry's chubby cheeks, "We'll see Mia soon. Excited?"
"Yay!" the little one expressed his joy.
Mia, finishing her classes, saw her nephew's eager face through the car window, calling out to her. Instantly recognizing the voice, she rushed over.
"There you are, my baby," Mia exclaimed, scooping her son into her arms. His delight at seeing his mother was unmistakable.
"Mama's here. Did you come to pick me up from school again?"
"Mmhmm~"
Molly scooted over, making room for Mia to sit down. Mia reached out, gently touching her son's tiny hands and squeezing his little feet. "Hey buddy, how come you're not wearing shoes?" Molly shrugged, "The moment I try to put them on, he throws a fit. So, socks it was."
Around five, Leo drove the three adults and one little munchkin to Molly's wedding venue.
The crystal chandeliers were already up, sparkling elegantly. The head of the decorating team approached Molly, "We're holding off on hanging the flowers until the day of the wedding to keep them fresh, but everything else is set." The little guy craned his neck, his eyes wide with wonder at the shimmering lights around him, making the crystals look like characters out of a cartoon - utterly adorable.
Anya, ever the explorer, left Leo's side and scampered off to a corner to play, taking the little munchkin with her.
With her arms finally free, Mia delved into a serious discussion about the wedding venue with Molly.
Meanwhile, Leo was on a mission, searching every nook and cranny for the missing Anya.
