Molly stared at Chad, totally confused. "Seriously, which one of us is the slacker here? I was just chillin' inside, didn't even step out to the backyard.'

Chad, with a hint of a serious vibe, replied, "Remember our sister, the forensic pathologist? She just cracked a case involving someone who spent every night glued to their phone..." "Alright, alright, bro. Enough with the lecture. I'm putting the phone down and heading to bed."

Molly plugged in her phone and had barely gotten comfortable in bed when Chad walked over, unplugged her charger with a stern look, and plugged it in near her vanity. "Bro, you really that overprotective?"

Chad shot back, "Whose life do you think I'm protecting?"

Molly bit her lip. Hers.

The care and love Chad had for her were clear as day, yet Molly could never quite get her feelings across to him.

Before they got married, she would loudly proclaim her love for him to anyone listening. But since then, Chad hadn't heard a single confession from her.

He was never sure where he stood with Molly.

Did she love him? Maybe. But what kind of love did she have for him?

Sometimes, as Chad watched her, exhausted and dozing off beneath him, he wondered. Did she marry him for the stability he offered, or because she had no other way to face her parents?

To him, it seemed the only time he felt she truly belonged to him was in those moments of passion. Her heart might be a mystery, but her body never lied.

Feeling uneasy under Chad's intense gaze, Molly blurted, "Chad, quit staring at me like that. It's freaking me out."

Chad's hand gently found its way to the top of Molly's head. "Molly, do you love me?"

Molly was taken aback. Love? This again?

Chad persisted, "Do you love me or not?"

Molly was wary. Had she fallen into another one of Chad's traps? She hedged, "What are you getting at?"

But as Chad drew closer, Molly blurted out in a panic, "Love, yeah, love you."

Still, Chad wasn't satisfied. "Who do you love? Your brother or Chad?"

Molly was utterly confused. "Aren't you the same person?"

Moments like these proved just how complicated men could be, with Chad standing as a prime example.

Chad gave Molly one more chance, "Am I your brother, or am I your husband?"

Molly, puzzled by his strange demeanor, wondered if he was coming down with something. She reached out to check his forehead for fever. "Bro, what's up with you?"

The warmth in Chad's eyes turned chilly, a touch of indignation surfacing as he kissed Molly.

"No, wait, it's that time of the month. Really, not a good time," Molly pushed Chad away, her heart racing.

Chad's patience had worn thin. "Molly, who am I to you?"

"To me? You're my brother, of course."

A frustrated Officer Chad was left speechless.

He pressed on, "And what do I do?"

Molly was at a loss for words.

Chad continued, "I'm a cop. I follow the evidence, never just taking someone's word for it. You think I don't see through your lies?" Molly's heart skipped a beat.

"Bro, I..."

Molly, in trouble.

The lie, exposed.

No matter how fiercely the storm raged outside, nothing could scare Molly now.

In a tender moment, Chad asked once more, "Molly, in your heart, am I your brother or your husband?"

Molly, her voice weak, retorted, "We're married, got the license, and have been together. What do you think you are to me?

Do I need to have your child for you to finally feel secure?"

Chad's response was a soft peck on her lips, "If you can say all that, why can't you just give me a straight answer?"

"I won't say it, just to spite you... ouch, Chad, that hurts."

Chad insisted, "Tell me what I want to hear."

Molly, stubborn as ever, refused to give in.

But as her temper neared its breaking point, Chad finally let her be.

The consequence of pushing too far was, the next day when Officer Chad came home, his wife was nowhere to be found. "Mom, where's Molly?"

Coleen replied, "Out of the blue, she decided she'd start working with me at the office from next week. She's staying with the Cedillos for now, won't be coming home." Chad, barely off duty, drove straight to the Cedillos'.

Unexpectedly, Hansen didn't call him to pick her up this time.

"Sweetie, what brought you back all of a sudden?"

Molly, ever the charmer, said, "Missed my dad."

When Chad arrived at his in-laws', Hansen, easily swayed by his daughter, insisted she stay to keep him company.

That evening, Mia also showed up, carrying a doll.

Naomi immediately doted on the little one, "Henry, why are your eyelashes wet with tears again? Tell your great aunt, why have you been crying?"

Mia explained, "Just got back from the hospital. There's been a chill, and somehow he caught a cold. We took him for a check-up, and he hasn't stopped crying since."

The room's attention shifted to the little one.

Bruce, filled with concern, took his nephew into his arms, "What did the doctor say?"

Mia reassured, "Nothing serious, just needs to stay warm and drink plenty of water. So, we're back."

"Naomi, could you look after him for a few days? My mom's abroad visiting Cooper, and with my husband busy, I don't trust the help with our son."

Naomi was more than willing, "Don't worry, with me here, he'll be in good hands. You focus on your studies."

Andre, having prepared a bottle of warm water, took his son from Bruce, feeding him gently.

Earlier today at the hospital, the little guy stretched out his chubby little arm, and when the doctor pricked his finger for the blood test, his finger turned a deep shade of purple from the tight grip. Seeing that, my heart just sank.

The moment he flung himself into my arms, crying his heart out, my usual stoic and tough persona just melted away. There I was, pacing up and down the hospital corridor, holding my precious boy close, my heart breaking into pieces as I watched him cry his eyes out. I wished more than anything that I could take the pain away for him.

As he took sips of water, I gently held his tiny hand, checking the spot where he'd been pricked to see if it was still red.
