Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 760
At five o'clock, Henry was back in the cozy embrace of his family.
As Mia settled into the back seat with her little boy, she told her family, "Dad, Naomi, you don't need to see us off. We're just heading abroad for a few days and will be back soon." Henry, who had just learned to wave goodbye, started waving his tiny hand at his grandpa as his mom closed the car door.
Mia, looking at her son, said, "Ever since you came along, I haven't sat in the passenger seat of your dad's car."
Quick-witted Henry flashed his mom a sweet smile.
When they arrived at the airport, Henry's mouth hung open in awe as he took in the grandeur of the airport terminal, something he'd never seen before.
Andre, carrying Henry in one arm and dragging two suitcases with the other, was followed closely by his petite wife.
Mia rummaged through her bag for their passports and headed straight to the business class check-in.
Once inside, Henry, full of curiosity, wriggled around. "Dad-"
Every time Andre heard his son call him, he felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders grow and his love for Henry deepen. "Hey, what are you calling me for now?" "Daddy-"
Seeing the curiosity in his son's eyes, Andre's gaze softened. "Curious about the airport, huh? How about from now on, whenever Dad has a business trip, I'll bring you along to fly?" Mia then got a call from her mother, Madison, who was anxious about their trip.
"Mom, we're on the seven o'clock flight. My husband and I just got to the airport. Please remind Dad not to drink too much and accidentally spill the beans to Cooper."
Madison's husband chimed in, "Do you think I can't keep a secret?"
Mia laughed, "I'm just worried you might let something slip after a few drinks."
In the lounge, Mia immediately started hunting for snacks. She indulged in treats her husband usually didn't let her eat.
Mia, munching on cookies and holding an ice cream, couldn't resist heading over to the food court.
After sitting down, Henry looked around for his mom, pouting, until she reappeared with a bowl of pasta.
"Honey, I just ordered some pasta."
Henry leaned in, his little hands itching to grab some.
Mia mixed the pasta, "Honey, cover our son's eyes."
Andre's large hand covered Henry's face, blocking his view as his little hands flailed, trying to push his dad's hand away.
Mia quickly forked up a bite and fed it to her husband.
By the time Henry could see again, his dad had already taken a bite.
Mia, turning away from her son, took a bite herself.
At six, Leo called to ask, "What time is your flight? Send the flight info to our group chat."
Mia heard some noise in the background, "What are you up to?"
"I'm at the arcade," Leo replied.
Mia asked, "Why are you there?"
Leo: "Catching up on courting Anya, came here for a date."
Mia didn't know what to say, "Leo, you should thank your lucky stars that Anya overlooks your flaws, blinded by love." Although it was Leo's way of courting Anya, taking a girl to an arcade, if any guy tried to woo Mia this way, she'd be furious! Yet, Leo thought it was romantic.
After Anya arrived, she spent the whole time watching Leo play, occasionally getting more tokens. She couldn't grasp the games, replaceing the only entertainment in the claw machine nearby.
While other boyfriends might not win a toy, they still romantically accompanied their girlfriends.
After hanging up with Mia, Leo saw Anya looking at other couples and followed her gaze.
Soon, his phone buzzed with a reminder from 'Married Young Lady' and 'Young Mom': On a date, the focus isn't you playing, but letting the girl have fun! Clueless guy, go hit yourself with tofu.
Leo pocketed his phone, took Anya by the hand, and headed to the claw machine. Anya blinked, "Leo, what's up?"
Leo, holding tokens, "Why didn't you tell me you wanted to play?"
"I saw you were having fun."
"My fun comes from having you by my side. I usually don't care for these places." Leo confessed, adding a unique flavor to his words.
Not long after, Leo noticed other boys holding bubble teas for their girlfriends and carrying their bags, while he only had a sour plum drink for Anya.
"Anya, you play first. I'll be back in a moment to keep you company," Leo said, leaving before she could respond.
Anya, left alone, sulked at the game machine.
Outside, Leo called his second wingman, Molly.
"Hey, Auntie."
Jade, off work, doubted her ears, "What? Who is this?"
Leo: "Stop pretending, it's me."
Molly was shocked, "You're calling me auntie? Weren't you threatening me at noon?"
Leo massaged his temples, "You're more experienced than Mia, teach me how to date."
Molly glanced at her husband, "Call me auntie once, and I'll let my husband teach you."
Leo: "...I took Anya to the arcade, but I don't know what she likes. She just silently follows me around. She's going home soon and doesn't want to leave me. I'm planning to spend these few days with her, making up for lost time." Molly, touched by being called auntie and considering their longtime friendship, generously shared her dating wisdom with Leo.
Chad, always attentive to details, asked, "What did Leo threaten you with at noon?"
Soon, Leo returned, replaceing Anya hadn't played much and hadn't won any toys.
She continued to insert tokens, listlessly playing.
Leo stood behind Anya, recalling the advice, and slowly closed in. His left hand covered Anya's, and his right arm wrapped around her, his large palm resting on the back of her hand, enveloping her.
Anya tensed, her back stiffening as she looked up at Leo, softly calling, "Leo?"
Leo, taller, leaned down slightly, his voice cascading from above, "Don't look at me now. How many toys do you want today? I'll win them for you."
Feeling the warmth from Leo's chest on her back, Anya's cheeks flushed, puzzled at Leo's sudden insight.
"How many?"
"Mmm, five."
Leo, with a doting smile, chuckled, "You really think I'm some kind of wizard."
Later, after playing four or five times, Leo finally managed to grab two identical ones, but these two surpassed all the dolls in Anya's bedroom. "Leo, these two dolls are a couple."
