During the wait, an employee handed her a cup of coffee.

Molly

accepted it with a smile, "Thanks a bunch."

She then glanced over at the young woman trying on the outfit, feeling it just wasn't right.

"Let's pass on this one." After the woman changed back, it was clear she wasn't interested either.

The salesperson quickly asked, "Could you share why it didn't appeal to you?"

"Hmm... just not quite satisfied."

The salesperson shot Molly a glance, and she nodded slightly, prompting the salesperson to show other options.

That afternoon, Molly spent about two hours in the store. As foot traffic picked up, only four items were sold, despite more than ten people trying them on.

After work, Chad called Molly, "Need a lift home?"

Molly replied, "I'm still out. You go pick up Mom. I took the car, and she doesn't have a ride."

"Mom's got a lift."

They chatted briefly before Chad reminded her, "Come home early."

After hanging up, Molly continued to monitor the store until closing, watching the crowd ebb and flow.

As the store emptied out, Molly told the manager, "Pack one of each size of the new blouses for me. Everyone can head home; it's getting late. Be safe on your way back."

Coleen had called her daughter several times, but in the end, it was her husband who picked her up. "Our son said you took the car, so I finally got a chance to pick you up from work. It's been ages." Coleen smiled happily, "Then you should thank our daughter for giving you this chance."

By the time Molly got home, dinner was over, and she wasn't there.

It wasn't until ten at night that Molly finally walked through the door.

The streets were quiet, and she drove home slowly.

Chad asked, "Why so late?"

Molly asked, "How's Mom?"

"She's already in bed."

Molly nodded, realizing it was too late to disturb her mother. Nothing she needed to report tonight or tomorrow would change anything, so there was no point worrying her mom before bed. Grandma Aubree handed her granddaughter a glass of warm milk, "Did you have dinner?"

"I did, thanks, Grandma. I'm skipping our TV session tonight. You should get to bed early," Molly said playfully.

Grandma Aubree waved her off, "No way, I was exhausted because you insisted we binge-watch last night. I nearly overslept today."

Chad gave his wife a knowing look, pulling her back to their bedroom. "Staying up past midnight to avoid me?"

"Playing dumb, huh?" Molly said, setting her clothes on the sofa. "I was just bridging the date gap, shifting from an even to an odd date. I picked that up from you."

Chad was surprised at how well she'd mastered a tactic he hadn't taught her.

Noticing her shopping bags, Officer Chad asked, "Went shopping for clothes?"

"I don't shop." Molly said, then started unzipping her dress in front of him, "Go lock the front door."

Officer Chad: "..."

Soon, he locked the door.

Turning back, he saw his wife's familiar form as she took out clothes in her size, then went to the closet for pants and skirts - black ones, denim... She tried them on in front of the mirror. "Chad, how do these look?" Chad nodded, "Great."

"You need to be honest. These are new arrivals, and sales are slow. Even our online sales are below expectations." Molly inspected herself in the mirror, "I don't see any issues. I've tested the quality and comfort myself." Molly tried on several more outfits, all of which looked beautiful to Chad.

Molly rolled her eyes, "Useless."

She continued trying different sizes and combinations without replaceing a clear issue.

Chad, who had been watching her change, was asked to tidy up the clothes as Molly headed for a shower.

Leaving a pile of clothes on the sofa, Molly ran naked to the bathroom.

Thanks to Officer Chad's patient guidance, Molly had become less shy about being naked in the bedroom.

Sometimes, after intimate moments, Molly was too tired to dress and would go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without covering up. Now, indoor glimpses of her were common for Officer Chad.

Soon, the sound of running water filled the bathroom, while Chad organized the clothes, hanging them in the closet.

They finished their tasks at the same time.

"Tomorrow's a night shift; remember to use the herbal pillow I got you for better sleep. And use the thin blanket; don't just cover yourself with a piece of clothing," Molly, wrapped in a towel, said as she went to the vanity to start her skincare routine. Her collection of skincare products outnumbered her husband's by tenfold!

Chad stripped and sat on the bed, watching his wife. "There are meetings at the precinct with officers from various places for training. As a representative, I have to attend."

Molly turned, "For how long?"

"A week."

"That long, and it's here in our city?"

Chad nodded, "The visitors will stay in a hotel, but I can come home every day."

Molly was relieved as long as he didn't leave home. She turned back to the mirror, applying lotion, "Will your brother and our dad be there?"

"Brother will be there on the first day. Dad's not involved in this part, so he won't be there."

The couple chatted a bit before Molly climbed into bed, immediately turning her back to Chad.

Chad chuckled softly, not disturbing her, and laid down to sleep.

At the Cedillo house, it was nearly eleven when Mia gently removed the bottle from her son's hand, careful not to wake him, and softly patted him to sleep.

Andre asked, "What did you do today?"

"Just missed my mom and went to see her."

Seeing she didn't want to elaborate, Andre didn't press further. The couple lay down, and Andre glanced at Henry beside them, "Let's move him over; he shouldn't sleep in the middle."

Mia: "If you want to move him, go ahead. If he wakes up and cries, it's on you to soothe him."

During the day, Andre could be the doting father, but at night, he had no desire to see his son.

When Anya returned home, she thought she would miss Leo terribly. Yet, after the initial pain of parting, she found herself quite happy with her parents.

Ironically, it was Leo who struggled with her absence. He had thought he wouldn't miss her, but after sending her away, he found himself frequently thinking of Anya. The realization that she wasn't by his side left a void in Leo's heart. It turned out, he was the one who missed her the most.
