Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 796
Henry lay there, his little mouth forming sweet, clear words, "Mommy~"
Mia, with her soft heart, couldn't resist: "..
She looked down at her husband. "Honey, let's just go with this for now. I'll play the doting mother for a bit."
With that, she happily clambered over to her husband and embraced their little bundle of joy, "Oh, my son, Mommy loves you."
Andre, watching the joyful mother and son, shook his head in happiness.
The phone on the nightstand rang. He answered, "Hello? No, we haven't slept yet. Our son just had a little cry."
Andre said, "Alright, I'll ask for you tomorrow."
After hanging up, Mia asked, "Who was that so late at night?"
"Conner. He needed help with something," Andre glanced at the time. "Enough fun, it's time to sleep. Mia, you're on my left, and Henry, you're on my right."
The mother and son were "forcefully" separated by Andre.
As Mia cuddled up to her husband, she reached out and gently pinched Henry's little hand, which then clutched onto hers, "Ah~"
Andre, playing the bad guy, intervened, "If Henry won't sleep, I'll have to send you both to your grandfather."
Both mother and son were at his mercy. "Honey, shall we go back to Maplewood Estates tomorrow?"
"Sure."
The next day, the family of three left, just as another couple returned.
Molly lamented, "How coincidental. Lately, I seem out of luck not only with Chad but also with my sister and my nephew."
They had stayed with the Cedillo family for two days, hoping to see their nephew before leaving. But as soon as they returned to the Byrne family, the trio was already heading back. Hansen sighed for his daughter, "It's really a case of missed connections."
Later, knowing how much her aunt missed him, Mia, during the day, pushed the stroller past Chade Inc. and called from downstairs, "Bringing your nephew over, at your company's entrance." Molly, in her high heels, ran out within five minutes, "Henry, my precious nephew."
The enthusiastic aunt nearly dropped the rice cake in Henry's hand from the surprise.
In a company where outsiders were usually not allowed, but in Jade's territory, no one dared to say a word.
So, Henry was taken to his aunt's workstation.
Mia, looking at her desk, envied, "Ah, if I hadn't had a child so early, I'd be working at my dad's company too." Molly suggested, "How about we switch? I stay home and take care of the baby, and you take over my job?" "Sure, no problem."
Molly remarked, "Looks like your son really keeps you on your toes."
Soon, many colleagues gathered around, "Wow, Molly, whose adorable baby is this? So chubby and cute." Someone asked about the cute panda outfit Henry was wearing, hoping to buy one for their nephew.
Mia replied, "Try a baby store; you should replace it. I usually shop in person for my son's clothes." Molly asked, "Coming home tonight?"
"Yes."
"That's good. Chad misses him too much. We'll both go back tonight."
Mia stayed a while longer before saying, "You get back to work. I'll take him and head home. See you tonight." Putting Henry back in the stroller, the little one, now used to being held, refused to sit.
Mia, not wanting to disturb others at the company, decided to carry him outside.
Molly, noticing Mia's struggle, offered, "Let me help you guys downstairs." She took her nephew in her arms. Reaching the car, Henry still wouldn't settle.
Mia managed to get her son into the car and buckled up, listening to his cries. "You should head back, Molly." Molly, concerned, asked, "How will you get back?"
"I'll walk a bit; if we get tired, we'll take a cab back. You better go back to work."
Mia said her goodbyes, pushing the stroller away under the umbrella.
After about five minutes, Mia and Henry found a shaded spot to rest, "Don't cry, my arms hurt, I can't hold you. How about a rice cake?"
She opened a pack and offered one to her son, fanning him, "Isn't it sad, Mommy feeling a bit heartbroken right now?"
Just then, Andre's call came through.
Seeing her husband's number, Mia felt a surge of emotions, quickly fanning her son while answering, "Hello, honey?" "Where are you, Mia?" Andre's voice was gentle.
"Just taking the little one for a walk," she looked at a street sign, "on the middle of Construction Road."
"Stay there, I'll be there in ten minutes."
After hanging up, Mia wiped Henry's sweaty face and elbows with a wet wipe as they waited.
When Andre arrived, he saw his wife and son from afar, Mia fanning their child, occasionally switching arms.
Andre parked by the roadside.
Mother and son looked up to see him approaching.
Mia couldn't understand why, but seeing the compassion in her husband's eyes made her lips quiver uncontrollably, tears falling despite herself.
Andre approached, embracing his wife, wiping away her tears. "It's alright, I'm here now. No more tears."
He kissed her forehead.
"Let's get in the car."
When Mia went to pick up Henry, Andre was already holding their little bundle, placing the stroller in the trunk with one hand and securing his son in the car seat with the other.
He opened the car door for his wife, "Mia, I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where to?"
Back in the car, Andre drove straight to the hospital.
"Honey, why are we here?"
Andre looked at her arm, "How long has your arm been hurting?" His wife often mixed truth with coquetry, and the occasional complaint of pain Andre took as mere affection, never taking it seriously.
He would kiss her, thinking it was all it took.
Today, his sister suddenly called, "Andre, is something wrong with Mia's arm? Her way of holding Henry seemed awkward, and even when Henry cried his heart out, Mia still heartlessly put him in the car. That doesn't seem like our Mia at all." Andre belatedly realized, despite her numerous complaints of pain, he had not noticed.
Taking her to the doctor, Mia was reluctant to seek medical treatment, "Honey, my arm just needs a bit of rest, it's nothing."
Yet, Andre led her straight in, "Doctor, my wife's arm has been hurting for a while now. Could you check if she's injured her ligament?"
The doctor immediately noticed the little chubby baby in Andre's arms, "Madam must have been holding the child quite a lot at home, hasn't she?"
