Mia immediately dropped her gaze when her husband started scolding her. This time, Andre was ticked off not just because his young wife had kept things from him, but also because she took their kid out without a heads-up!

"Who brought you back?" he asked.

"It was, um, Leo," she replied hesitantly.

Andre's eyes narrowed. "So, you'd rather call him than me, huh?"

Mia scrunched up her face, "Well, if I call him and he gives me grief, I can give it right back. If it's you, I wouldn't dare talk back."

"Is that what you call not talking back?" Andre shot back, raising an eyebrow.

Mia felt timid inside, but her mouth had a mind of its own, always ready with a comeback.

"And here I thought I was the clueless one," Andre sighed. "Do you really think I just jump to conclusions and punish you without knowing the full story?"

Mia nodded instinctively, then quickly shook her head when she realized what she'd done, her eyes wide in the quiet living room.

Andre sighed, looking away towards the dining room, wondering if he was really as clueless as she made him out to be.

Mia broke the silence. "Well... not really."

Andre kept his eyes on her, and Mia continued, "Sometimes, when I'm in the right, you just give me a little grief to keep Dad happy, and then it's all good." "Then why didn't you tell me this time?" he asked, genuinely curious.

Mia frowned. "It's embarrassing... getting caught with our kid at the police station. You're busy with important stuff, can't have you running to the station for us all the time." She figured big issues needed his help, but small ones were on her to handle.

"So you do feel embarrassed," Andre replied, his voice softer. "But in front of Leo, not me? Your husband, your rock? You think it's okay to be embarrassed in front of me but not strangers? What haven't I seen of you? You think Leo is closer to you than I am?" Andre's frustration was palpable, his heart pounding with irritation.

Mia tried to explain, "I am closer to you, but="

Andre slammed his hand on the table, his patience wearing thin. "You dare pull a 'but' on me!" he exclaimed, feeling his blood pressure rise.

Mia flinched, her shoulders trembling. Seeing he had startled her, Andre tried to dial back his temper.

Mia whispered, "Honey, let me finish. It wasn't me who called Leo today; it was Molly. And even if Leo knew, I wouldn't hurt you, but Leo... he'd be a different story."

The words "wouldn't hurt" were like a calming breeze over Andre's fiery mood.

Andre shifted the topic, "What was Henry up to today?"

Mia chuckled, "Oh, you know your son. He was the life of the party at the accident scene and charmed everyone at the station. They thought he was adorable and kept giving him snacks and toys."

"Were you holding him the whole time?" Andre asked, eyeing her previously injured arm.

Mia shook her head, "Not really. I couldn't keep up with Annie. She spoiled him rotten with a lollipop, and in the end, didn't even want to give him back to me."

Their cute little guy, now in the bathroom, was having a meltdown, crying and flailing his arms, refusing to let the unfamiliar maids touch him. His cries echoed through the dining room.

Andre was the first to cave. He walked to the bathroom, seeing the maids struggling with their stubborn son.

Henry, spotting his dad, immediately pouted and acted all pitiful, as if he was abandoned because his parents weren't there to bathe him.

With tiny hands outstretched, he called out, "Dada~"

Seeing his little guy looking so sad melted Andre's heart. He rolled up his sleeves, stepped into the bathroom, and picked up his naked little rascal. Henry was drenched, and a maid said, "Sir, the young master has been crying non-stop." "I'll take it from here," Andre replied.

As soon as Andre spoke, Henry clung to his father's neck, his feet slipping on the edge of the sink. The slippery sink made him slide, but he quickly scrambled back into his dad's arms, now splashing water everywhere out of sheer delight. A little while later, Mia appeared at the bathroom door, peeking in on the father-son duo. "Need some help, hon?"

"Mmm~ Mommy~" Henry cooed.

Seeing her son respond, Mia stepped in, letting her husband hold the little one while she ran the water, making sure Henry was squeaky clean.

For some reason, with his parents around, nothing hurt, and everything felt fun.

Mia had once joked she was the one to test her husband's patience. And here she was, doing it again.

"Honey, are you still mad?" she asked sweetly.

Andre, still a bit impatient, replied, "Just get to the point."

"You really scared me when you slammed the table," Mia admitted.

Andre didn't say anything.

"Can we make a deal, honey? Even if you're mad, can you try not to blow up?" she suggested.

Andre just sighed, "......"

Unable to continue, he left Henry to Mia, saying, "You finish up."

With the slippery tub and bubbles, Henry slipped again.

"Ah~ Dad-" he cried out.

Mia quickly helped her son up, "Where are you going?"

"I need some air," Andre muttered, heading outside.

Mia exchanged a puzzled look with her son, "Did Mommy mess up again?"

Henry, gripping the edge, babbled away.

Mia thought hard; she didn't think she said anything wrong. Her tone was gentle, her approach kind.

Andre stepped into the yard, letting the breeze cool him down. Sometimes, a cute wife could be a handful.

He called Chad, "I heard Molly had a fender bender. How's she doing?"

His wife and son were fine, but he'd heard his sister had gone to the hospital.

"Molly didn't mention anything?" Chad asked.

Andre was puzzled, "About what?"

Meanwhile, Molly was having her own revelation, "Mom, did I forget to tell Mia something when I called?"

Coleen reminded her, "Yes, you forgot to tell Mia you're pregnant."

Molly smacked her forehead, "Right!"

Her memory was slipping; just pregnant and already forgetful. By the time the baby arrived, she might forget her own name and address.

Back with Chad, he adjusted his tone, "Andre, Molly's pregnant."

Andre's grip on his phone tightened. "When did she replace out?"

"She had the accident today, went for a check-up, and that's when they found out."

After chatting a bit more, Andre hung up and headed back inside to replace his wife and son.
