Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 373 Don't Wake A Sleeping Dog

Bobby wore a somber look all morning. He spoke less and ate his noodles with a bowed head.

"Bobby, what's wrong with you?" Nadia asked curiously.

Bobby ignored Nadia's question and looked at Charles. "Daddy, I want to catch the bad guys that hit Uncle Edward."

His words surprised Edward.

Was that why Bobby had been unhappy?

"I've told you, my dear Bobby. No one hit me. My wounds were caused by my carelessness," Edward comforted him softly.

"You're lying to me! It wasn't your doing. The bad guys wounded you. I want to replace them and take them to the police!" Bobby insisted.

Edward was about to speak again, but Charles waved a finger and stopped him. "My son, you'll get your chance to be a hero. But not now. When you're older, I'll teach you and let you catch bad guys. As for your Uncle Edward's wound... Your daddy will catch the bad guys and then let you deal with them. Okay?"

"Okay, I'd like that." Bobby nodded.

Edward turned and said aside to Charles in a low voice, "You have to think this through. They're your family, after all. Even if you catch them, I don't think it'll be easy to prove it to your grandfather."

Charles sneered, "And I don't want such family members around me. To me, you're more family than

them. You're far more important." "Are you calling me your brother?" Edward smiled and raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Is that so surprising?" asked Charles.

Edward picked up his glass of water. "It's shocking to hear you say that. But it's a great honor. I feel elated. Let's drink to this! Cheers!"

"Cheers!" Charles also raised his glass.

Bobby and Nadia quickly raised their glasses of milk too. "Cheers!"

Nancy was the happiest to see Edward and Charles getting along well.

After breakfast, Charles drove to the company. It was a weekend. If not for Derrick and his son's trouble, he'd have loved to go to the library with Edward and the children.

But Derrick and his son were too cunning, and Charles couldn't afford to let his guard down.

Besides, he had to uphold justice for Edward.

Edward took the kids to the library after breakfast.

Charles left for the company on time.

Nancy was considering going to the hospital when she got a call from Doris.

"Nancy, are you free today? Come shopping with me.

Will you?" As far as Nancy could remember, Doris hated shopping.

So she asked, "Is Jay going out to play again?"

"Don't talk about Jay. Tell me, will you go or not?"

"Of course. It's not often I hear you want to go shopping. How can I pass this up?"

Since it was weekend, Nancy was getting bored being home alone. So, she agreed.

"Good. Give me Edward's house address, and I'll pick you up right away."

Nancy told her the address.

Doris soon arrived. Both of them went downtown together.

They happily strolled around all morning. By noon, Doris found a Chinese restaurant. "I got the bill. It's my treat."

"Wow! It's so unusual to see you like this!" Since Doris didn't have problems with money anymore, it was fine that she handled the bill.

They walked in and chose a table.

A waiter soon brought them the menu. Doris pushed it forward on the table and looked at Nancy. "Order anything you want."

"You sure look like a rich woman now!" Nancy teased.

"Ah! Not as rich as you. Hey, didn't you say you and Charles were getting married? Why haven't we heard anything about that?" Doris leaned over and asked in a low voice.

Nancy shook her head. "There's a lot of drama in the Fu's family right now. As for the wedding, I can't say!"

"You know, I asked you out to discuss what happened between you and Edward. Look at the news all over the internet." She took out her phone and clicked to view the news about Nancy and Edward. "Take a look at this.

Nancy was not surprised. She was aware of everything and had gotten scared of going online these days. She even feared to go to the hospital.

"I don't have anything to say. We'll have to let Edward clarify it himself." Nancy sounded annoyed as she took a sip from her coffee. "This is a big deal. And the Fu's family is still silent about it. How do they plan to handle it?" Doris stretched her words in concern.

"It's the Fu's family that started it in the first place. It was Derrick. What can the family do?

If Derrick keeps making trouble, it will cause a big problem in the TS Group."

The mere thoughts made Nancy shudder.

"You and Edward... What happened to you?" Doris asked weakly. She had known Nancy for a pretty long time, and she never caught a whiff of the idea that she had been married before. She asked her, "All that is nonsense, isn't it? How could you have been married?"

"Well, how could I? The media is full of rubbish!" Nancy was confused. She did not understand where Derrick got the false tales.

Moreover, Edward hadn't told her anything. She didn't understand what was going on.

Doris was relieved. She sighed and wiped the sweat off her forehead. "I was really worried about you. I didn't know how I could help." "None of what you heard is true," said Nancy, confidently.

"Well, whether it's true or not, this is not good for you and Charles's future if it continues like this," Doris answered worriedly. Nancy sighed, "We'll just see how it goes."

It was not she or Charles that she was worried about. How all of these would affect the children was more important to her. Over at the company, in the CEO's office,

Charles's eyes became colder the longer he looked at the evidence that Hiram brought.

"Where are these people now?" he asked stiffly.

"I've handed them over to the police. They won't tell me who's behind it no matter how much I questioned them. I'm thinking... Maybe it has something to do with Derrick!" Hiram said, applying caution. "Derrick? He doesn't deserve to be part of this family!" Charles replied disdainfully. "Continue your search for evidence. We must stop Derrick and make him pay for this. Otherwise, he'll cause even more trouble."

"Yes, sir!" Hiram replied respectfully.

Charles's mobile phone buzzed just then to show the latest news online. He clicked on it leisurely.

The news read: Charles Fu and his fiancee live in Edward's house despite the rumor that Nancy was married to Edward. It is true, that the rich and powerful family is in a terrible mess! Charles's eyes narrowed dangerously. 'Was it Derrick?' Charles set his jaw and thought about it. 'Was it Derrick doing these things?'

It didn't matter so much now whether he caused trouble or not. Such news was no good thing to have in circulation. It would affect Nancy and Edward terribly if it continued to spread. "Hiram!" Charles called sharply.

"Yes, sir! What's wrong, sir?"

"Derrick and Joseph have a secret link to the shareholders. I need the evidence for that. Get it for me. Remember, be careful. Don't let them suspect anything," Charles warned. He knew Derrick too well. If he could spread the news, he would also take action.

However, Charles was on his guard. Even if Derrick wanted to get the TS Group, he would have to go through him no matter what he did.
