Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 1440 The Source Of Laws
As the mine pit shook more and more violently, Leland's face turned paler and paler.
Merle narrowed his eyes and looked around, but he didn't feel as anxious, perhaps because hedidn't use his brain as much as Leland did.
"Is it going to collapse? That'd be great! I'd finally be able to get out!” On the contrary, Merle wasvery excited. He had felt trapped and had wanted to leave this damned place a long time ago.
He longed for strength, but he never cultivated by himself, because he felt that the process was tooslow.
"No! Something is wrong!"
Leland screeched anxiously.
He could feel that the force that was causing the quakes spread from the inside to the outside, rather than from the outside to the inside.
That was to say, this mine pit was not being attacked by any powerful fiend god from the outside. If that was the case, where was the force coming from?
To Leland, the answer was obvious.
He lowered his head and looked at the Rule Soul Avatar, who was sitting on the ground, covered ina fine layer of dust.
Invisible law ripples spread out, striking the mine pit, yet he and Merle remained unaffected.
Leland frowned in confusion. He had never felt such a law before.
"How strange..."
Now that he knew there was no danger awaiting them outside, he heaved a sigh of relief. He thenconcentrated on observing the Rule Soul Avatar.
After a while, he felt as though something was swaying in front of him, which made him dizzy. Then, a strong tearing force suddenly pulled him towards a black vortex.
The feeling could only be likened to that of a small boat being sucked into the vast sea, wavescrashing all over it, as though he was about to be smashed into smithereens at any given moment.Once more, fear seized Leland's heart.
Meanwhile, Merle seemed to not have encountered anything out of the ordinary. He was stillcuriously looking around, trying to figure out why the mine pit was shaking.
After what felt like a lifetime, Leland finally felt the uncomfortable pulling force die down.
He felt as though he had set foot on a soft grassland. Slowly, he opened his purple eyes, only to replacethat there was nothing around him.
Leland was surrounded by an empty space, completely devoid of light.
Crack!
Streaks of thunder and lightning suddenly passed through the void.
Soon after, countless flames roared to life and danced in front of him. However, majestic wavescame out of nowhere and extinguished the flames. In the distance, Leland saw bloody red cloudsrolling and abysses suddenly appearing then vanishing just as quickly.
Leland was stunned.
What the hell was going on?
In the span of a mere second, he saw nearly a thousand laws appear, riot, vanish.
“Laws... This must be the Source of Laws!"
Leland shouted in disbelief. His body stiffened and he felt as though he was about to explode fromexcitement.
There was really a Source of Laws, and he had seen it with his own eyes!
Whoosh!
A gust of breeze swept over, carrying with it a familiar aura. All of a sudden, a person emerged andstood by his side.
The man was dressed in white and transparent runes flashed along his cold face. However, what wasmost striking was his piercing, silvery eyes.
"It's really you..."
Leland whispered. He suddenly felt calm, knowing that one didn't come by happiness so easily. TheSource of Laws was already discovered by this peerless human, just like he had expected.
"I must admit that you are the greatest creature I have ever seen in my entire life,”
Leland declared, sighing deeply.
The stories about the Source of Laws were widespread knowledge among every race. However, onlythe transcendent existences who had disappeared in history had really seen the Source of Laws withtheir own eyes.
"You have two hours, but how much you will be able to comprehend in the meantime will dependon your ability.” A thunderous voice roared from within Leland's mind while the Rule Soul Avatarfloated in front of him without ever opening his mouth.
Leland was at a loss for words, too dazed to reply.
He smiled bitterly. The talent of the human in front of him was completely beyond his imagination. What the human had said just now made him sound like he was the master. What did it all mean?It meant that this human had entered and hosted the Source of Laws.
It also meant that from now on, the Rule Soul Avatar was like the master of the Source of Laws, coming and going as he pleased.
'Oh my God!" Leland silently exclaimed. He couldn't even feel jealous. All he could feel wasexcitement and admiration
"We are not friends. Why do you help me?"
Leland finally asked when he calmed down a little.
He and this human were from different races. They were naturally enemies. Why would he sharesuch a precious thing with him? Leland frowned slightly, unable to wrap his head around it.
"If you become stronger, we will be able to fight our way out together,”
the Rule Soul Avatar said bluntly. His train of thought was very simple.
After more than one hundred years of cultivation, the Rule Soul Avatar was only at the middle-levelof the Celestial God Realm. Even if he had entered the Source of Laws, growing in strength still tooktime. It was absolutely impossible for him to improve his cultivation base by several levels in a shorttime.
This meant that he would not be able to defeat the fiend god, the leader of guards responsible forguarding the mining area, in the near future.
But Leland was different.
He was very strong, since his fighting power had reached the low-level of the Superior God RealmMoreover, there was still some sealing power left in his body. If the seal in his body was completelyeradicated, it would be definitely possible for him to contend with the fiend god.
If Leland cultivated here for two hours, he would obtain stronger laws, and ultimately, display evenstronger fighting power.
This was the real reason why the Rule Soul Avatar had brought him here.
"Ha-ha, aren't you afraid that I will kill you two after I kill the fiend god outside? Don't forget thatwe are natural enemies,” Leland sneered.
The Rule Soul Avatar shot him a cold glance
Then he waved his bare hand and grabbed at a purple silk thread from the void. Holding one end ofthe silk thread, the Rule Soul Avatar handed it over to Leland.
"This is the strongest Oath Law. You just need to promise that you will never be my enemy," theRule Soul Avatar said calmly.
The truth of the matter was, he had already planned this all out. Only by using the strongest OathLaw could he rest assured that Leland would not attack him and Merle after becoming stronger. And after careful analysis, he had come to the conclusion that Leland would not refuse this offer. After all, the chance of cultivation in the Source of Laws for two hours was even more precious thanbeing directed by the Fiend Ancestor. Who in their right mind would turn away from that?
"It seems that you have foreseen everything, including my decision,"
Leland said with a slight nod as he took the silk thread. "I hereby swear that I will never have anykilling intent towards this human in front of me, as well as his real body and the second avatar. If Ibreak this oath, may I be smashed to pieces..."
Leland made the oath without any hesitation.
The Rule Soul Avatar didn't say anything more. His figure then faded away from Leland's sight.
Not wanting to waste any precious time, Leland immediately sat down cross-legged. He thenactivated his unique talent and began to obtain the laws that were most suitable for him in theSource of Laws.
Meanwhile, in the mine pit, the Rule Soul Avatar opened his silvery eyes and shook off the dust thathad accumulated on his body.
"Oh my God! You're finally back!" Merle jumped up excitedly.
The Rule Soul Avatar didn't respond to him.
"Have you made any progress, Xavier? Are you confident you can deal with that fiend god?” Merleasked anxiously.
"No,"
the Rule Soul Avatar said indifferently.
"Why are you so useless?" Merle threw his hands up exasperatedly. "You have been pretending tocultivate for so many years, yet you can't even deal with a fiend god! You make my blood boil! Youare humiliating our real body and me, do you understand?" Merle couldn't hold his tongue anylonger.
Before he could say anything more, a ray of purple light pierced the sky. Then, a powerful fiendishaura shook the mine pit, threatening its collapse.
