Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1513 A Mysterious Man

The pyramid of faith, made up of the highest level of Order Law in the Primitive Wilderness, toweredover Darren. Its scale was astonishing.

Darren thought that in this world, only the stronger version of the Rule Soul Avatar could createsuch a massive thing. Of course, there was an exception: the chief gods.

Darren's mind raced. Suddenly, he realized that a huge amount of Power of Belief was beingtransmitted to the pyramid through the iron chains.

"Eh?" he muttered.

An idea suddenly came to Darren. His eyes lit up with excitement.

“Could I intercept the Power of Belief?" he thought.

As a Defiant Master, Darren was equal to the chief gods in name. He had the qualifications toabsorb the Power of Belief on his own.

Given this steady stream of energy, what would happen if Darren destroyed one of the links andchanneled the Power of Belief into his own body?

The two Bloodsucker Princes were the strongest among all the believers that Darren now had. Buteven they were only the equivalent of warriors at the upper-level of the Deputy God Realm.

In the abyss, the creatures enslaved by the projection of the chief god were far stronger than thetwo Bloodsucker Princes. And countless numbers of these creatures were here.

The more Darren thought about it, the more his excitement grew. For a moment, he forgot all aboutthe mangy hen and the belief crystal. All his attention was focused on devising a way to obtain thePower of Belief.

If he succeeded, the black god's power that was transmitted out from the dark void in his mindwould increase by leaps and bounds.

Darren still didn't completely understand the black god's power. He only knew that there was stillplenty of room for improvement.

He approached one huge black iron chain carefully.

Stretching out a hand, he laid his palm on a link of the chain.

Immediately, there was a buzzing sound.

It echoed through the dark space. Darren kept his hand on the chain. After several seconds, thechain started to shake, sending tremors along all the other chains on the pyramid.

The buzzing grew louder and louder, filling the dark space completely.

Darren was stunned by the force of the sound waves. He felt as though waves of energy werecrashing into his body, pummeling him constantly.

"No," he gasped. His face was pale. He felt as though his body was about to explode.

He forced himself to stay still and try to control the trembling of his body. Every molecule of hisbody shook as he fought to adapt to the vigorous reverberations. He was on the verge of collapsingwhen he finally managed to merge the sound waves harmoniously with his body. Instantly, theheavy pressure that threatened to tear his body apart was lifted.

He breathed heavily, feeling a rising sense of fear. He had almost died just by touching the ironchain.

"Don't even think about it. That thing is not something you should touch,” said a cold voice. Darrenglanced around him, but couldn't identify the source of the voice.

It seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Darren spread out his god'ssense, but he couldn't replace anything. His heartbeat speeded up, and he felt trickles of cold sweatdown his neck. He felt tense and uncertain.

The iron chains clattered against each other.

The noise rushed into Darren's ears, and he braced himself. However, this time, the sound did notcause him any pain.

His god's sense remained alert, and gradually, he began to distinguish the blurred edges of a figure.'What is it?" he thought. He felt a moment of astonishment, wondering if the projection of the chiefgod had sensed him. But on second thought, Darren decided that it was impossible. The aura of thechief god's projection was different from that of the one he had just sensed.

Moreover, if the chief god's projection had truly found him, he would have attacked Darrenimmediately. There was no doubt he'd have tried to kill Darren without hesitation. There was noneed to talk to him.

The iron chains continued to clatter against each other.

The rattling of the chains was moving closer and closer to Darren. He could sense the figurebecoming clearer.

Finally, Darren saw the figure clearly. It was shaped like a human, but its body was shrouded by amysterious mist. The face was completely covered.

'How strange,’ Darren thought. 'He didn't speak human language just now..." He was confused, buthe had no time to consider the matter. He had to engage with the figure now. Cupping his hands ingreeting, he said cautiously, "Sir, are you a human?"

The man stopped. He was still several hundred feet away from Darren.

The man did not answer Darren's question, but Darren could see him more clearly now. This human-shaped creature was bound by many black iron chains, which fluttered like strings, the metal linksrattling noisily against each other.

"You are the descendant of the Chu Clan,” the man said. He sounded very old.

The unexpected words made Darren feel as if he had been struck by lightning.

"Ah!" Darren exclaimed. "Are you really a human elder? Are you also from the Chu Clan, sir?" Darrencouldn't contain his enthusiasm. He had never expected to encounter humans in the Space of Beliefestablished by the chief god's projection.

His emotions were stirred by the fact that this man knew him as a descendant of the Chu Clan.

'ls this man an elder from the Chu Clan? Is he one of my uncles? Or maybe this man is actually... myfather," he thought.

Darren waited for the man to say more, so excited that he couldn't say a word.

"You are wrong," said the figure. "I am not a member of the Chu Clan.”

The calm answer dampened Darren's exhilaration. Darren sighed and asked, "Then may I ask whoyou are, sir?"

"You don't need to know who I am right now," the figure answered. "One day in the future, you willhave the right to know.

Now, I will give you a piece of advice. Leave immediately and don't try to steal any Power of Belief."The figure spoke slowly, but deliberately.

Hearing this, Darren smiled bitterly.

"Sir, to be honest, I came here because I was forced to, by an abyss creature called Corissa. Sheasked me to come and bring back her belief crystal,” Darren replied, deciding to be honest."Corissa..." the mysterious man murmured. He fell silent, seemingly lost in thought.

After a long period of silence, the man finally spoke. "It's her,” he said simply. Darren could tell fromhis tone that the mysterious figure was a little surprised.

"Sir, do you know her? She is very little now. She looks like a mangy hen," he said.

"She used to be one of the rulers of this abyss," the man answered.

"What?" blurted Darren. He was stunned. He couldn't reconcile the image of the mangy hen withthe description of the mysterious man.

Could she have been so powerful once? To be one of the rulers of this abyss? He felt a stab ofterror. This was the hometown of a chief god!

Briskly, the figure said, "Well, we have no more time for you to ask any more questions. Get out ofhere, quickly. You are very talented and very likely to become a supreme god. But unfortunately, asa Defiant Master cultivating conflicting martial arts skills, your time of tribulation will eventuallycome.

Alas! I really don't know what Braxton and Alfredo were thinking,"

the mysterious man sighed, his tone heavy with foreboding.

"Sir..." Darren trailed off. He suddenly felt that this mysterious man might be a kind of existence thathe had never before imagined

"No more words. Just go. Go!" urged the man.

Without warning, Darren felt a huge force enfolding him. A crack appeared in the dark space, andDarren sank into it, until he was completely submerged in the empty space.

As he crossed the space crack in the abyss, Darren felt a great weight pressing down on him. Soon, everything went black and he lost consciousness.

He awoke to replace that he was no longer in the dark space. The mangy hen was staring directly intohis face. She looked furious.

"Master Corissa, please let me explain,” Darren said hurriedly.

He jumped up and looked warily at her, knowing that if he failed to complete the task she had set,the mangy hen would not let him go.
