Chapter 1529 The Ascetic Cultivators Of The Human Race
Hope had now risen anew for everyone.
It turned out there was not only a supreme god in the human race, there was also a super masterwho was about to be the seventh supreme god—Heath, as well as a lot of tomb keeping asceticcultivators. With this in mind, it didn't seem impossible for the human race to survive the challengesthey were about to face.
But this was all reliant on Supreme God Shipley returning.
Heath fell silent after hearing the calls for Shipley.
The ancestor raised his old eyes and looked out at the crowd. He then shook his head solemnly."Heath and I don't know where Shipley is either.”
From the moment Shipley became a supreme god, he was made a firm target of the nine chief godsand faced an unending pursuit. If he hadn't hidden and escaped, he would definitely have beensuppressed and killed. He most certainly could not disclose his whereabouts to any creature, or hisplace of refuge would be compromised. After all, the chief gods’ tracking ability could not beunderestimated.
It then seemed that the unknown supreme god would not be able to take a leading role in thecharge through the human race's crisis.
The human race had to depend on Heath and the tomb keeping ascetic cultivators. They were theirlast hope.
"Let's talk about Darren." Heath spoke up. He made no mention of anything else. Darren's problemwas of utmost importance at present.
Truthfully, Heath had always thought the human race should give Darren up. It was only since theancestor said he was willing to give Darren a chance and would not make a decision concerning hislife until he was about to rise to the Superior God Realm that Heath was left with no choice but tokeep him alive.
However, the ancestor had not expected Darren to one day enter the abyss and have his life be outof the control of the human race.
Things were now somewhat problematic. Even the senior leaders of the witcher race were onDarren's side, trying to help him break through the tribulations he would face.
Darren breaking through would mean the crisis for the human race was imminent and they had nochoice but to help him resist it.
"Hmmm, that guy is a troublemaker for sure. Does he not have a brain or a conscience? How couldhe be unwilling to sacrifice his own life for the sake of the human race? How can he force the entirehuman race to go down with him? Why did we even spare the life of such a selfish thing like him?We should have let him die when we had the chance,” someone shouted angrily. He was clearlyupset by having to assist Darren.
"You're wrong about him. You've not thought this all the way through,"
a powerful tomb keeping ascetic cultivator with an iron chain stood out and said.
"Yes, Darren caused this disaster. But don't forget that this disaster would befall the human racesooner or later. It was only a matter of time. Delaying it over and over again means nothing, andeventually it will come for us. Darren was a mere catalyst,” explained the tomb keeper.
"That's right. We need someone stronger than a supreme god. It seems that Darren and his avatarare likely to be our best candidates. I think it's worth a try,” added another tomb keeper.
"That all sounds reasonable enough, but the price is too high. Think about it. If the human race wasgiven more time, perhaps Heath would become a supreme god and we won't have to be so passiveanymore. At least then we'd have some sort of defensive power,” someone responded in objection."Hmm."
Many ascetic cultivators who kept the tombs shook their heads in silence.
They felt these people were thinking too narrowly. The human race wasn't something that just onesupreme god could protect and support. Even two or three wouldn't be able to carry or bring itback to power. They could at most fight for a sliver of a chance at survival for the human race andmaybe allow for the bloodline to pass down.
"You know nothing. I will say that being detected by the chief gods does not mean the end for us.We will still have a chance to fight back.
They might not necessarily be able to kill all the powerful warriors of the human race, unless thechief gods make our world their primary target and their real bodies descend,” said a tomb keeper."Heath, we have no other option available to us. Should we take this opportunity to confront thechief gods head on?"
"No matter what decision you come to, Heath, I will go to help Darren," said one of the black-robedascetic cultivators straightforwardly, not hiding any intentions. He stretched out his strong right arm, slapped his palm to his collarbone and forcibly removed the iron chain inserted into it.
This caused the space to shudder and made all the powerful warriors tremble from the intense forcehe had created. This was only an indication of the true strength of the tomb keeping asceticcultivators.
"Huh!" Lord Feng felt the tremendous aura of god's power and his eyes widened in excitement. Hehad never felt such a powerful aura in the Primitive Wilderness.
'Is he a half-step supreme god as well?"
Lord Feng and Lord Starry Sword then flew over side by side. Lord Feng was the first to speak. "Sir,would you grant me the privilege of learning from you by fighting me with a few moves?"
Lord Feng did not mean to challenge him in any sort of threatening way. He simply wanted to feelthe strength of the ascetic cultivator. Lord Starry Sword stood beside him, the same thought quiteobviously going through his own mind.
The ascetic cultivator shook his head only slightly, not putting any more effort than necessary, refusing the request. "You two have great potential, but your cultivation level is not yet highenough. You're not even qualified to fight me until you've reached the top level of the Deputy GodRealm."
"That's not necessarily true. Please enlighten me how this is so." Lord Starry Sword's tone was muchless respectful. He was not challenging either; he was just naturally cold.
Lord Starry Sword, just as Lord Feng had done, also took the initiative to upgrade to the low-level ofthe Deputy God Realm, not long ago. His strength was not at the level it was before.
Based on their performances in battles against those at higher realms than they were, both of themhad the combat power to contend with someone close to a half-step supreme god.
"This is not an illusion world. Our real strength is much greater than you think,” said another of theblack-robed ascetic cultivators.
"Sir, please, could you just give me a chance?” Lord Feng pleaded. Neither of them was willing togive up on this.
"Sir, please give the two of them an opportunity to experience real strength!" someone yelled out ina clamor. They were dying to see Lord Feng and Lord Starry Sword suffer a crushing defeat.
"Starry Sword, Finley Feng, you do not need to try your strength against his. This is Stern Mu. If I'mcorrect, he already had the power to take both of you on alone seven million and three hundredthousand years ago.
Mr. Stern Mu has by now been cultivating in the Cliff of Cultivation for more than seven millionyears. His strength has far exceeded even what it was then. Even if I were to fight him, I would notdare think I can defeat him with less than a thousand moves," Heath interjected.
Everyone gasped when they heard this. Even Heath, who was about to become the seventh supremegod wasn't sure if he could defeat the ascetic cultivator named Stern Mu with less than a thousandmoves? This was insane. Were the tomb keeping ascetic cultivators of the human race all aspowerful as this?
Lord Feng turned helplessly to Lord Starry Sword. Now that Heath had said his piece, there was nochance they'd get to fight Stern Mu.
"Who else would like to join me in helping Darren?" Stern Mu asked, looking to the other tombkeeping ascetic cultivators beside him.
“I will."
"I too want to feel the pressure of the chief gods!"
"To hell with them!"
"Roar! Roar! Roar!"
More than twenty tomb keepers pulled out the iron chains from their bodies. Their tremendousgod's power burst and flowed out like a vast ocean, almost causing the sky to collapse.
These tomb keeping ascetic cultivators removing their chains of vows was a signal of theirdetermination to achieve their goal at all costs.
"Are you all sure you want to help Darren break through the heavenly tribulations?" Heath was stillhesitant. Was it wise to help Darren at the critical moment before he was about to become asupreme god? It was too risky and he did not think it was worth it.
"Heath, you do not have to go with us, and we don't want you to either, if you don't want to. Thereis no difference between life and death for us. We have to do this,"
a tomb keeping ascetic cultivator said, sighing in despair.
