Chapter 522 The Purple Mutant Is Finally Killed
"This is the true inheritance skill of the Dragon Blood Clan!"
The purple mutant's mouth fell open. His shock lasted all of a moment as he bared his fangs andsnarled in defiance.
With a resounding boom, Scott blasted forward.
In a wavy movement, his dragon body shot toward the purple mutant. Before the purple mutantcould move, Scott slammed into him.
The purple and cyan figures wrestled. Snarling and roaring, they snapped, clawed, spewed fire, andspiritual energy at each other. Winds whipped. Clouds swirled. Lightning crackled across the sky, theresounding boom of thunder joining it. The battle seemed as if it would tear the world apart.
Rays of brilliant light cascaded upon the area. The spectators threw up their hands to protect theireyes against the luminance. They cowered before the power on display.
The ocean beneath the battle churned and spun, forming a great maelstrom. The water boiled.Countless creatures died, their flesh melted by the vast energy.
"Can you believe it?" a person in the crowd exclaimed. "The Holy Lord of the Dragon Holy Land is sopowerful that his dragon incarnation can fight the purple mutant!”
"Yeah, it's reasonable to believe Holy Lord Scott could be the most powerful Holy Lord since thebeginning of the Holy Lands!" another person said.
The crowd watched the fight in awe. From one to another they voiced their amazement.
The light intensified until it completely obscured the battlefield. Not even spiritual sense couldpenetrate the area.
An explosion rocked the air.
Shock waves rippled across the area. The force of them felt as if they would wash away anything formiles.
Darren was the first one who flew towards the fighting area. He waited quietly for a while until thelight dissipated. Then, he saw a severely bruised cyan dragon standing proudly. The purple mutanthad exploded into seven or eight pieces.
"Scott, you won?"
Grinning, Darren rushed toward the dragon.
Scott threw back his head and roared. He glared in Darren's direction.
Undeterred, Darren continued forward. Scott whipped his tail toward Darren, causing him to leapback.
'What's going on?" Darren wondered. Then his brows rose as understanding dawned.
A wave of tremendous auras gushed from the bits of the mutant's body. The pieces shot into the air, gathered together, and began to reform.
In seconds, a perfect purple mutant was standing in front of the cyan dragon again.
"How is that possible?” exclaimed people in the crowd.
"Is he actually immortal?"
Clamoring and shouting, the people tried to make sense of the events.
"Hmm! You are very interesting. I never expected that you could break my body apart. But do youunderstand now that you can't kill me?" the purple mutant said in an indifferent tone.
"You are nothing but a spent arrow now." Scott's voice was hoarse and cold.
"Humph!" the mutant snarled. "Who the hell is the spent arrow? The power of my single finger isenough to kill you now!" Grimacing, the purple mutant regarded Scott with contempt in his eyes. His confidence seemed justified. Judging from Scott's appearance and labored breathing, Scott wasindeed extremely weak now. His combat power would be a mere fraction of what it had beenpreviously.
"Darren, I need your help.” Scott's voice echoed.
Such a request came as a shock to the crowd.
"Holy Lord Scott, we think it's better for us to retreat now. We doubt Darren's help will make adifference.”
Worry was written large across the faces of the three-star grand warriors. Darren could understandtheir reasons. They'd witnessed what should have been the death of the purple mutant. And yet, themutant was whole again, seemingly better than before. What difference could Darren make in this?"He will die for sure,” Scott said coldly in response to the warriors’ deep concern.
That reassurance was all Darren needed. With a sudden explosion of power, he shot toward Scott."Darren, according to my judgment, although the mutant has reassembled his body, he has alreadylost his vitality. At best, he can exert the power of a five-star grand warrior at the beginning level. We will definitely kill him if we unite.” Scott's words echoed in secret through Darren's spiritualsense.
"No problem." Darren nodded.
Roaring, Scott dashed toward the purple mutant in an undulating wave of flesh and scales.
Sweat beaded the skin of the purple mutant when he realized that Scott had ignored his threats.Using his demonic internal force, he evaporated the sweat before Scott could see. He thought tohimself, “Damn it! I used our King's life-saving method. Although I saved myself, my power isn'twhat it was before.’ The mutant searched within himself for a solution to the fight. A skill or strategyhe could call upon to ensure victory.
He thought back to when Darren had slain the four black mutants earlier. Darren's real combatpower had shown Darren was nothing more than a nuisance, an ant, even at Darren's peak. If Darrenwere alone, the purple mutant was convinced he could easily defeat Darren despite his reducedstrength. But the situation was different now. The problem was Scott, the nasty, powerful cyandragon. Combined with Darren they would prove to be a threat. Defeating them both was not asure thing.
Booms rang out.
Scott's dragon tail turned into numerous phantoms. They swept out. Power from them bombardedthe purple mutant.
"It's my turn now," Darren murmured after Scott launched his powerful attacks. Calling upon theHurricane Teleportation Skill, he teleported in front of the mutant.
"Blood Dragon Phantom—Unite!" Darren yelled to activate his most powerful skill. Darren split intoeight avatars in the blink of an eye. The avatars reunited a moment later, reforming a single entity."What? Another warrior from the Dragon Blood Clan!" the purple mutant yelled, thunderstruck. He'donly felt Darren's combat power before and hadn't seen his fighting abilities. Shocked by the factthat he was facing another enemy with the inheritance skill of the Dragon Blood Clan, the mutantknew he could not surrender or retreat. All that was left was to fight to the best of his ability. He hadto end their lives here and now.
Enraged, the purple mutant bellowed, "You go to hell!"
Using his body to absorb Scott's attack, the mutant dashed toward Darren, intent on killing thelesser opponent first.
'Very well, * Darren thought to himself. He had anticipated this maneuver. It was what he would havedone himself if faced by the combined might of Dragon Blood Clan members and their inheritanceskill. It was a strategy born out of panic.
Darren unleashed his abilities.
"Air-integrated True Rule,” he bellowed.
Overwhelmed by his murderous intent and panic, the purple mutant initiated his strikes, his armsglowing red as he darted toward Darren. The space between them closed. The red arms would strikeDarren, killing him. In the moment before the red arms hit him, Darren disappeared.
Stunned, the purple mutant spun to attack Scott who he knew had been chasing him. But themutant was a second late. Scott's dragon claws and tails sliced into the mutant. The attacksshredded most of the scales on the mutant’s body.
"Argh!"
the purple mutant yowled at the pain. Full of rage and hate, he tried to counter Scott.
In that same moment, he had the sense that an extremely powerful presence was behind him. Apresence that screamed of danger. Of impending attack.
Rather than turn, the purple mutant poured all his power into charging Scott. Even as he did so, heshot a glance over his shoulder.
An ocean of olive-black force poured toward him.
That force carried the repressive aura of dragon blood. A chill shot down the spine of the purplemutant. Heart hammering in his chest, fear choking him, he cried out, "No!"
A dragon tail struck him and flung him back into the onrushing olive-black force.
"Aaaargh!”
the purple mutant howled. And then blue-black blood covered his entire body.
Darren knew that his olive-black force was not enough to kill the purple mutant. He rushed intoclose quarters with his Hurricane Teleportation Skill. Meanwhile, he also launched his other twopowerful skills, the dark gold internal force and the Blade and Sword Domain. The attacksbombarded the purple mutant in a flurry of strikes and spiritual energy, exploding in a torrent, lighting up the air.
"Damn you! Go to hell!"
the purple mutant yelled. In a last desperate effort he struck out at Darren. His rotten palms closedin for the kill. If he was to die, he would take one of them with him.
"Roar!"
Before the palms touched Darren, the dragon shot past the giant palms, and placed himself beforethe attack.
"Scott!" Darren cried out in fear.
The power of the palms had cracked open Scott's dragon head.
"I'll kill you!" Darren roared. His eyes grew blood-shot.
Taking advantage of Scott's sacrifice, Darren launched countless sword and blade attacksstrengthened by the olive-black force. The attacks rippled out and into the purple mutant.
"Kill, kill, kill" came the furious roars from the three-star grand warriors who had been watchingfrom far away. They knew they couldn't just stand by anymore.
As one, they launched themselves into the fray. They besieged the purple mutant and released themaximum power of their domains against him.
Struggling against death, the purple mutant tried to counter. He frantically launched attacks againstthe three-star grand warriors, and even the three strong rule cultivators, including Horace, werealmost hit by him and dropped.
But as he was now struggling with his last gasp of breath, he could not avoid Darren's formidableattacks.
Swoosh!
Darren's Unbeatable Sword Skill finally stabbed into the heart of the purple mutant. Not willing torisk the purple mutant again returning to life, Darren used his sword and blade ability. He smashedthe mutant's head into hundreds of pieces
"Assimilate!” Darren snapped at once.
The next second, he assimilated the talent of the purple mutant. His own ability increased greatly.Without a thought to his current power, Darren zipped down toward Scott, whose dragon body wasplummeting from the sky.
"We won!
We finally won the battle!" the rest of the human grand warriors yelled.
They cried out in disbelief as the four-star and five-star mutants all had been killed.
But even as they celebrated, they also knew none of it would be possible without Scott. He was theirbackbone. Without him, they would be dead. Concerned for him, they hurried toward Darren andScott.
