He leaned in close to her, saying, “This isn’t a discussion. Get on board with the baby-making plan, andyou can head back to the company. Otherwise, you can play the little lady of leisure at home-I canafford to keep you.”

Classic Elgin. Always forcing her to do things she hates, using every trick in the book!

Letitia, grinding her teeth retorted, “Elgin, I despise you. Aren’t you afraid that if I do get pregnant withyour child, I might intentionally miscarry just to get back at you, just to hurt you?*

After hearing her, he cracked a smirk, “No, you wouldn’t.”

“Yes, I would! Because I hate you!”

“What do you mean, ‘get pregnant with my child?” Elgin shot back, his voice deepening, “That childwould also be yours-carrying half of your blood. Letitia, you couldn’t be that cruel.”

Right, even if Letitia hated Elgin to the core, she couldn’t bring herself to hate the child.

Crap! The wireless headsets she used to eavesdrop on Shela’s secrets was hidden in a pillowcase!

Would it be lost? What if it was? Or… did the servants replace it while tidying up and give it to Elgin?

Either possibility sent a shiver down Letitia’s spine!

She still needed to listen in on what Shela and her mother had discussed at the sanatorium!

She needed to know the content of that conversation! But without the wireless headsets… what wasshe to do?

Letitia turned back, only to replace Elgin still standing there. She confronted him directly. “Did you instructthe servants to move my stuff?*

“Yes.”

“Where to?”

The master bedroom,” Elgin replied. “You’ll be sleeping with me from now on.”

Letitia couldn’t care less about where to sleep, her mind was fixated on her wireless headsets!

She hurried to the master bedroom.

It had been a while since she’d been to the second floor, and she noticed it had been redecorated. Newcarpets, new curtains…Stepping into the master bedroom, she spotted even more changes.

Gone were the masculine black, white, and gray lanes, replaced by touches of femininity. The walk-incloset was filled with brand-new women’s clothing in her size.

Even the bathroom was stocked with her personal toiletries…

Leia cealized that when Elgin wanted to treat someone well, that person truly became the luckiestwoman in the world. Too bad.. what he offered her was a slap first, then a candy

Fantically, Letitia scoured for the missing wireless headsets

She turned every comer she could think of, yet there was no trace of the wireless headsets.

What was she going to do?

“What are you looking for? Elgin suddenly spoke from the doorway.

Startled, she quickly got up, “Nothing, just some personal stuff”

1 had all the things from your room in the servants’ quarters thrown away.”

Letitia’s eyes widened. “Thrown away?

Just some old stuff. I had the butler get new ones, Elgin said, “You’ll like them.”

Like hell!

He actually threw them away! No wonder she couldn’t replace her wireless headsets!

Letitia was boiling inside but could only glare at him “Please, in the future, don’t mess with my stuffwithout asking!”

“Those trinkets of yours, what’s there to fuss about?

In Elgin’s eyes, everything Letitia wore and used was too cheap and lacked quality.

He wanted to give her expensive, high quality things But once again, she was ungrateful!

“Even if it’s just trinkets you should’ve at least told me before tossing my stuff!”

Elgin’s face darkened

It was a thankless task for him! She was the only one who didn’t appreciate it.

“Enough,” Letitia fumed. “I’m heading to the company!”

Once at the company, Letitia made a beeline for Vidonia’s office.

“What do I do, Vidonia, I came back from the hospital to replace my wireless headsets gone…” Letitiaasked anxiously. “Is there anything we can do?”

“Yes! Elgin threw away all my stuff and bought new things! Even speaking of it got Letitia heated.
