DEXTER

After last night, I couldn’t get the thought of Amelia crying last night from my mind especially because I had left her,

The last thing I hated so much was the connection to her emotions because she was my mate,

Scarlet was having trouble sleeping last night and so I had to be with her because I knew what was wrong with her,

A knock was rasped on my door and through the mirror, I saw the door open Scarlett walked in,

"Hey." She uttered as she stepped in and while adjusting my tie, I turned around to face her,

"Hey, I thought you left already."

"I wouldn’t leave without you, Dexter." She responded as she came closer to me and began helping me with my tie instead,

"I can’t believe you’re getting married, Dexter." She uttered, but I didn’t respond. Instead, my gaze was fixated on her red plump lips and I couldn’t help but admire them. To me, Scarlett was the perfect lady, but maybe she was too good for me,

I never imagined her loving the person who had ruined her life completely when we were kids and right now, all I had was protecting her.

It was just me and my hidden feelings for her, and deep down, I knew she deserved better,

"How do you feel? Are you better?"

She gently nodded her head and the moment she raised her gaze at me, I tore my gaze away from her lips and brought it to her eyes,

With a smile, she uttered, "Are things going to be different now? I mean I would hardly see you after this."

I held her chin and smiled back,

"Nothing would be different, Scarlett. It’s all going to be the same no matter what. I have my reasons for doing all of this."

"Do you love her?" She questioned, but as I was about to respond, another knock was rasped on the door even though it wasn’t closed,

I cocked my head towards it to see Daniel standing at the entrance,

"Alpha, you’re 30 minutes late. The Alpha king is awaiting your presence." Daniel uttered and I heaved,

"Come on, let’s go," I uttered and took her hand as we both trailed behind Daniel,

As I got to the hall, I hated that it was so packed. I would have preferred something really small since this wasn’t a real marriage, but as the biggest pack in North America, I had to do it this way,

I stepped out of the car and began walking inside with Daniel behind me. I got in and my gaze immediately caught Amelia looking extremely beautiful in her simple wedding dress. For a second, just for a second, I had to admit in my mind that she was indeed beautiful with curves at the right places. No wonder she was able to win the hearts of my friends at the club,

I got to her and after saying my vow, it was time to kiss,

After a year, I knew exactly what to do to be free from this marriage,

I wrapped my arms around her waist as I drew her closer to myself and the moment she accepted my offer, I felt relief wash through me, but unexpectedly, she came up with something extremely shocking,

Even after this, I still went ahead to kiss her and seal the marriage completely because I was certain of one thing,

I wasn’t one to always stick to a deal because when I desperately want something, I do every damn thing to get it.
