Chapter 4

- Amelia -

Even after three days, the night of replaceing yet another fated mate of mine kept replaying over and over in my head and I kept staring at my reflection in the mirror

I certainly do not stand a chance, not with Alpha Dexter because he wasn’t just any Alpha an Omega like me could be mated to. He was the Alpha prince, and I was just me, a nobody, poor with no reasonable childhood experience or growth.

The only thing I was thankful about was that he had not seen my face and so there was no way he could replace me, that’s if he was going to.

I tucked the last set of my clothes inside the small leather bag and hung it on my shoulders,

It was time to leave home for good. My family wouldn’t care, not like I matter to them in any way. Fully getting ready, I walked over to my purse and opened it so I could take out my V card, but it was empty. My heart thumped hard, and as fast as I could I tore the purse wide open only to replace nothing but some debit receipts.

No! No way! This couldn’t be happening to me right now! I couldn’t lose this at this crucial point in my life,

I ran, heading downstairs, with tears pouring down uncontrollably and when I got to the living room, I found my step- mother sitting on one of the cushions while admiring the new wears my sisters were showing her,

"How’s this Mom? I love it because it’s pink with some shiny crystals and the gloves too. Do you think Alpha Liam would love this?" Sophie shrieked as she squeezed the gown so close to her chest, and I rolled my eyes at her words, recalling the bastard who had rejected me,

"Where’d you get the money to buy that?" My question suddenly made the excitement die down and my Stepmom cocked her head backwards to stare at me,

"Oh, Lia, you’re here? It’s just the right time to start preparing breakfast. Hurry up Lia, your sisters have somewhere urgent to be at. Alpha Liam invited..."

"Where did you get the money? Please tell me, Sophie, tell me it’s not what I’m thinking," I interjected Lydia before she could complete her statement,

Ava tucked her hand into her purse and brought out a card, one that I recognized to be mine, and my legs immediately weakened,

No! I had to be dreaming! This had to be some sort of bad dream and I had to wake up immediately else I might as well just kill myself before the day ran out completely, "No! Tell me you found this and you just wanted to return it." I stammered as I rushed towards her and grabbed my card from her,

"You’re just a wicked soul, Lia; you had more than 40,000 dollars sitting idle, and you always acted like a poor little bitch. Well, since you weren’t going to make use of it, Mother, Sophie, and I did. Don’t worry, we won’t bother asking where you got the money from, even if you sold your body for it" she giggled as she uttered,

I let out a scoff as another so painful tear dropped down from my eyes and just instantly, I felt this urge to gauge out her eyeballs. Listening to a part of my mind, I grabbed her hair and began pulling her, but Sophie pushed me aside and I found myself crashing to the table with my back hitting it so hard

"You have no idea how hard I worked to save up every penny there. You all have no idea." I yelled at them, feeling pains from every part of my body but Lydia pounced on me and began to hit me, pulling my hair while I cried to be left alone. I couldn’t be a match for all three of them,

"Daddy, Daddy, Lia’s gone crazy," Ava yelled and began to rush upstairs.

I knew this could be trouble seeing that my father was here already, and Lydia suddenly lifted me to face my father who was now standing in front of me with anger so evident in his eyes,

"Da...." Before I could complete my statement, I received a resounding slap that sent stars flying above my head as I struggled to breathe. I could taste blood from my busted lips and I could still feel my eyes spinning so badly,

"I should have just watched you die after your miserable mother abandoned you, Amelia. Is this how you repay me after I brought you home to my beautiful family and took care of you since you were a baby?" Father yelled at the top of his voice.

These people were all insane. Since I was a child, they never once treated me like family and even if I was alive today because of him, I preferred to be dead instead of this kind of life."

"You could have just left me to die," I responded, and I heard him growl at me. He raised his hand again to hit me when we suddenly heard the door burst open with so much force that it sent it crashing to the ground,

Everyone trembled in the room when he walked into the living room, and I found my father going on his knees immediately. The Alpha’s eyes were blazing Red with rage, and there was no way I could forget that fface, even in my dreams.

He sneered angrily at everybody and the moment our eyes locked, I felt the bond that could only be there because he was my fated mate, and a part of me felt safe. I could even feel the rage of his wolf and his Aura was so strong that the moment Lydia let go of me, I found myself taking my gaze away from him as I couldn’t stand how powerful he was.

Why was he here? To kill me?

"How the hell did he even replace me?" I questioned myself silently as I could hear his footsteps closer to me. With my gaze buried on the floor, the only thing I could see was his super expensive shoes, and then he spoke,

"Raise your head and look at me, Amelia."

How the hell did he know my name? I found myself complying and I had no idea what to blame. The mate bond, or his Alpha tone. The moment our eyes locked again, he took his gaze away from me, grabbed my father, and slammed his body so hard against the wall that we all heard father groan in pain with my mate’s fingers gripping his neck,

"I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill every one of you !”
