"His Majesty... You mean Xanthakos, right?" James asked in a cold, raised voice, "I have a question, Mr. Hosentia."

Dorvus was drenched in cold sweat.

James continued, "Which of US is the commander-in-chief here?"

Dorvus flinched and bowed his head. "You're the commander-in-chief, of course. We..."

"There lies the problem, right?" James cut him off again. "In your opinion, how should I punish a subordinate who disobeyed my orders?"

Dorvus bowed deeper. He hurriedly explained, "It was a misunderstanding, Commander! I had no idea His Majesty had planted his men in the Terythor Universe.

"I only had our men attack this place since the Supreme War Saint and Maria contacted me. They helped US conquer the Terythor Universe."

"Ha!" James said monotonously, "Are you saying not only have you not done anything wrong, but you've also made a huge contribution to our mission?"

"No! Of course not!" Dorvus was flustered. "It was all thanks to your idea to lure Xalvador away that we succeeded, Commander! Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to conquer the Terythor Universe so quickly."

Dorvus racked his brain trying to butter James up. "I'd say the same thing if His Majesty was here too. Sir Caden contributed the most to conquering the north of the Goyo Daonus Realm! Don't you all agree too?"

As if they had rehearsed it, the gods of Four Seasons straightened up and chanted in unison. "The mighty Sir Caden contributed the most to conquering the north!"

Lazaro and Emperor Kristopher followed suit.

'The mighty Sir Caden contributed the most to conquering the north!"

Then, the divine beings and Alcide beings called out the same phrase as well.

Their voices reverberated through the space.

Dorvus grinned at James. "Commander, look at the respect these men have for you. It's because of what you've accomplished..."

Slap!

James slapped Dorvus hard across the face and sent him flying away. There was a moment of stunned silence. The divine beings and Alcide beings were all left absolutely dumbfounded by what just happened. They could not understand why James had hit Dorvus when the latter was singing James' praises. It even made them wonder if James was not completely sane. Unlike the others, Harper chuckled with delight. Her mesmerizing smile could enchant just about any man.

Meanwhile, James signaled to Dorvus, who had steadied himself in the distance, to come back.

Dorvus was seething with rage, still, he put his palm against his swollen cheek and suppressed his anger. Then, he moved back to where James was.

"Mr. Hosentia, you seem adept at using that silver tongue of yours to persuade others with flattery." James leaned forward and narrowed his eyes. "Do you think that'll make you look like a virtuous and respectable person?"

"What do you mean?" Dorvus knitted his brows. "I was only stating the facts "It is also a fact that you've tried to kill my friend, Harper!" James raged," Are you going to claim that you did it for me instead?"

Dorvus was shocked out of his wits. He dropped to his knees and shook his head quickly.

"No... No! I had no idea you sent her here. I sincerely thought she betrayed w Slap!

James gave Dorvus another slap across his cheek and conjured a purplish- gold light sword.

As Dorvus straightened himself, James pointed the tip of the light sword at his throat.

Dorvus' eyes bulged with fear.

"Mr. Hosentia, you may be one of Xanthakos' closest aides. However, if you can't give me a good explanation for what's happened, I'll exterminate you this instant."
