The Alpha & Beta's Regret -
The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 152
Addison POV
The plan was made. Silla would be the last to sever herself from Victor tonight. He would feel that the most, she thought. Zoe was going to be the first one and Addison was hoping that even though those two were rejected mates. With Victor and his wolf’s obsession with her still, his need to never hurt her.
The pain he would feel upon Zoe severing from him and this pack, would cause him and his wolf a tremendous amount of pain, so much so that he would be up there inside his packhouse struggling to deal with it.
If, as she suspected, his wolf still loved Zoe’s wolf, which she thought was the truth of their situation due to his wolf not allowing Victor to harm her, then her severing from his beast would likely rip right through that man’s beast almost like a full rejection was being stated to him. Hed not recover quickly and any others he felt would compound on that.
Zoe herself had also devised a plan along side Addisons plan, something that she was hoping would aid in delaying Victor as well, from rushing down here to the cells. She was like all these women down here active pack members and could mind-link to anyone she so chose to.
Zoe used that connection to contact another inside this pack, the dead Beta’s Mate, who apparently was also a captive of this pack, but was more like Silla, who had freely run around the pack, and had learned long ago escape was impossible from her Mate. That creature, a half-breed herself, a wolf and cougar cross shed heard, was also not happy to be here.
Those two had spoken at length, didn’t, from what Addi understood, really get along, but had made the decision to work together, to help not only the both of them get out of this pack, but all the women down here as well. Used that woman, Rhyse was her name, to contact Zoe’s mother Lidia, to get around Victors order on her and tell her the full plan of escape.
Everyone was going at the same time, to have her mother be out on border patrol, her usual job in the pack, relay which border back to Rhyse, pass that to Zoe so that they knew where to head to, when leaving the pack. They needed a gap in the border to get out of this pack.
It seemed Zoe herself had thought about how to escape this pack many times, thought about who could be trusted to aid them and get a message to her mother even. Likely had nothing else to think about down here all day every day. She was also not leaving without her mother and Addison didn’t blame her, Victor was likely to kill the woman or torture her if Zoe escaped his clutches and her mother was still here.
Addi had let herself out of the cell at nearly midnight and walked down along the cells opening all the doors, told those women she was getting them all out tonight. She, Zoe and Silla had all stood together, relayed the plan to them, knew these women were going to want to get their children on the way out. Silla offered to help them with that, get them to their children. She knew where the house was. Would even escort them out of the pack, told them to go east and replace Sloan’s pack. Sloan would help them was a sweet and kind Kitsune, who lived east now near bear lake.
It had been clear at first that they didn’t want to trust Silla, being that they all saw her with Victor, she wasn’t like them, was friendly towards Victor and he her. But that offer to take them to their children, protect them till they were out of the pack and getting away safely, that helped a lot.
They’d still been weary but it came down to, that they had to trust in the three of them if they wanted out of this pack.
Trying to get out of this pack and away from Victor seemed to win out in them. They all understood if the plan failed they were all in for a world of hurt, but that was something they were all apparently used to anyway.
They just had to trust Silla wasn’t going to report their escape to Victor.
Riva had taken each one of them through her tank to the outside of the packhouse and their potential freedom.
Every one of them had severed ties with Victor right here in the cells, before getting into that tank. So that if Victor was tracking them, he’d still think they were all down here.
Wouldn’t go calling for help from his warriors right away, wouldn’t need to, could just come down here and resolve it himself at his leisure. Seeing as they were all down here in the cells where they always were.
Addi was the last to leave the cells, made Zoe be the first so she could get to the border where her mother was before Victor knew what was really going on down here, and wouldn’t be able to hunt her and bring her back right away.
She had told Zoe not to wait for her, just to grab her mother and go. She could handle herself and Victor’s men.
To go north and wait for her an hour or so away, to shift and run that hour in wolf form as fast as they could, she would catch up with them. Bring Silla with her and they would make their way to the Black Forest Pack. It was now her pack, and Victor’s enemy. They would all be safe there.
Addi believed that both Rafe and Jack would take Zoe and her mother in. Hell, they’d likely take in anyone fleeing from Victor and requesting sanctuary. Protect them from Victor himself without issue. Especially once they knew and understood who and what Zoe had been to Victor, what he had done to his own Mate.
Shed been the last one through the tank, had wanted to make sure that everyone was out and if Victor came down here in the middle of the plan she was going to hold him off, while the others escaped. Knew he’d be mad that Silla was helping them, was betting on him losing all control of himself when he realised Silla was now no longer his.
She had watched Silla climb up and out of the tank look around at the women all standing here waiting on her.
Then just state “I reject Alpha Victor and his Pack. I belong to Mother Addison now.” Found Riva on the surface, watched Riva take hold of her wrist and sink her teeth right into her own palm and then Addi’s as well, press their hands together “Mother, I am your daughter now.” She’d stated for all to hear a full claim to Addison was laid by the Siren.
“Yes, you are Riva.” Addi had smiled at her, felt that Siren bond and connected to Riva as she bled herself into Addisons line, wanted a mother with a connection to other Sirens and Addison had that. She reached both her arms out to the girl and hugged her for the first time. “My daughter.” She sighed softly, loved feeling that connection to her Siren side.
Victor had just lost his most valuable weapon in this
раск.
Watched as Riva turned and looked at the tank, then released her call at full force, it only took about a minute before the water was rushing away. Addi smiled and touched her. “So very strong. Now, daughter, you know where to meet me.”
“Yes, mother.” She nodded and turned and headed off with the other women who had not run away. They were all sticking together it seemed, understood they needed Silla’s protection and all of them were going to be needed to free those children as well. Were likely in for a good fight. Also looked like they knew Silla was going to protect them now she had severed from Victor.
Addison was on the move herself, heading north through the woods, needed to make sure Zoe and her mother were safe, in case Victor was hunting them, had no connection with anyone here bar Silla now. Didn’t know if Zoe had made it out or Rhyse for that matter. Those three might need her. Silla was strong and deadly and could handle anything that was likely thrown at her. If not, she knew Addison would come back for her, in a day or so. Was to sit tight and kill any and all that tried to hurt her regardless of who it was.
She was running through the woods when she heard many wolves coming this way and growling and snarling, and turned to see that she herself was now being hunted by many. Hadn’t been running at full speed, kind of wanted to let this pack have it. ‘Here we go. She told Fallon.
‘Time to be who were meant to be.’ Fallon agreed with her and they simply stopped running, turned and faced the oncoming wolves. Rolled her shoulders and cracked her shoulder blades, then just rolled their aura at them; all they had, and watched with satisfaction as those wolves, warriors only, stumbled and fell down as she pulled on that side of them that was cold and uncaring.
Shot forward and snapped all their necks while they were bowed to her aura, nothing was going to survive her tonight, killed them all without issue. She could see others already coming this way, watched them form up into those mini-units Victor had trained them to work in. She smiled at them as they looked about her and the dead wolves at her feet.
She was deadly and strong, trained long and hard, and now they knew it, she might only be five foot seven, but was not a weak, useless woman that hid inside a packhouse. She was a full warrior of a woman, and liked getting in amongst the fighting. Heard an Alpha roar in the distance, Victor finally knew everything and was coming.
What was more important to him, her escaping his clutches? That Silla was likely out there on the other side of his pack decimating many of his warriors, protecting his escaping women as they took his children from them.
Victor needed to get her to get to Luci, but his children? An Alpha could not abandon his children. He also had no idea where Zoe was right at that minute either. Likely knew from reports where she and Silla were but not Zoe and her mother.
Saw even more coming. Flicked her eyes over them, 4 full mini-units couldn’t take them all on as a she-wolf and knew it, to many now,
is time.’ She told Fallon and took a
breath in, that darkness within her, that shed kept at bay, was always clawing and screaming desperately inside her mind to get out of her. Just stopped fighting it and just let it out.
Felt that heat behind her eyes and in her hands, pulled it all to the surface, actively helped it and then she was all glowing, saw many wolves take a step back and laughed a little on the menacing side. Then just let Fallon roar with not just their wolfen Alpha strength but her Alpha witch’s power as well. She felt it be released and saw the trees and shrubs around them start to shake, as her hair stood on end.
Snapped her hands out at those wolves before her, and screamed at them to die, felt the power within be released in a massive wave of bright white light, saw those wolves go flying backwards, turned to the others that were now coming her way and let them have it, ran towards them releasing all her powers at them, it was white hot and she could smell the burnt fur and chard wood of the trees, saw several shrubs burst into flames.
Everything her magic was touching was being burned by the heat of it. Her hands were glowing so brightly that it hurt even for her to look at them, they were glowing like white hot fire.
They took down a half dozen more before nothing would come at her anymore. They were all just backing away from her “Retreat or die.” She yelled at them all, flooding her aura out at them, saw them turn and flee.
Looked around at the destruction she had wrought.
Everything was smouldering hot or on fire itself. “Let it burn.” She murmured and snapped her arms out one more time, aimed it at the forest and watched as white fire licked the trees in an arc around her. Then she just turned and headed for the border.
She stood and waited on her new daughter. It took almost 2 hours before Silla turned up, and she was skipping along wearing a simple yellow dress, smiling to herself, swinging in one hand what Addison could only think of as a tranquilliser handgun. They used riffles in Nightfall.
Smiled right at Silla “What have you got yourself to play with daughter?”
“Mother.” She chuckled “Vic Vic, tried to sedate me.”
“Oh, did he now?” Addison laughed, couldn’t help herself.
Silla looked so happy right that minute.
She nodded “He’s sleeping now mother.” She chuckled right back “I’m much faster than he was.”
Addi hugged the girl. “I’m so proud of you, let’s go home, hey.”
“Let’s mother.” Silla hugged her right back, then linked her arm with Addi and they walked off together away from that pack. She allowed Addi to take that gun from her. She didn’t need it and it might come in handy on the trip back
Checked it and saw it had five more darts in it.
Addison felt Silla still and a hand landed right on her stomach and pushed her backwards behind her all of a sudden and Riva was on the surface, hissing a full Siren warning to their left. She moved her eyes to where she was looking and there was a tall thin man with long hair tied back, wearing grey pants and a grey tunic. He stood looking right at her.
She stared at him, felt that family bond with him instantly, knew who he was, the evil bastard that was her biological father. Shed never had the displeasure of ever laying eyes on him before. Knew why he was here even. She had never not once let her powers out. Had not wanted to draw this man’s attention to her.
On some level she knew it would, that he would feel her the minute she released the powers she had inherited from him. Now here he was just hours later, had tracked her with his own magic, it seemed, taken him a while to get here, she supposed, but here he was none the less.
“Name?” he demanded of her, kind of sounded like an order.
“f*k you.” she stated right back, would not be giving him power over her by stating her name for him to use “You’ll not know my name, Hendrick.” She stated his name, just so he understood she knew who he was.
“I’ll have what is mine,” he commented.
“Do you want to die today?” she tilted her head and smiled a little.
Saw him blink at her words, frown deeply, and as he raised a hand, she put a hand on Riva “You may kill him at will.” She told her new daughter, and heard Riva start to suck in a deep breath like all Sirens did before unleashing that call of theirs.
Saw his hand still, seemed to think better of whatever he was about to do. Look to the creature and his eyes went white for a moment, then he blipped himself out of the way as Riva let out her call. She was tracking that man herself, even with Riva on the move, turning and shooting her call out at him every time he appeared.
Addison shot darts at him from that gun, in an attempt to sedate the warlock with one hand, and was trying to set fire to him with her own magic. Nothing around them was being spared. The area was on fire and there were trees all moving about being hit by the force of Riva’s call. She was using all she had to try and get that man. Short sharp bursts in quick succession.
Heard his frustrated yell a few minutes later, as he realised he wasn’t going to be able to get to her and then he was just gone, blipped himself back to where he had come from, she supposed.
