The Alpha Mafia King -
Chapter 53
After Alyona had left him in Russia, Alonzo felt this aching within him. He had waited to make sure Mariyanna made good on her words before leaving. Things had started to pan out smoothly after Mariyanna had gotten her people to stand down. Daily News reported scandalously different leaked classified information of things that had gone wrong in the president’s administration. Not long after, the King started to gain more popularity. He had won over fifty-eight percent of a general opinion poll held for the most suitable candidate for the coming election.
It baffled Alonzo how quick it was to sway the people’s minds when it came to politics. Being the president was the most challenging job in the world. It was uncharacteristically human how people could easily vote you out of that job due to little errors. Everyone wants the president to be perfect, undermining the fact that the president is still a human like everyone else. Although, in this case, maybe the Russian citizens will get the ideal president since the incoming president was more than a human being.
More excellent news awaited them as the current president announced sadly his inability to rerun for a second term because he was terminally ill. In contrast, the real reason for not running for a second term was because the Makarov family had threatened to expose more indicting evidence that would undoubtedly tarnish his image, mark his administration as one of the worst in history, and have him looking at a lifetime in prison.
Satisfied that he had played his part out just fine, Alonzo set out to go to Italy. Vincenzo reminded him that he had to be back in Russia in a fortnight for the King’s daughter’s coronation. Every werewolf had to be in attendance. Alonzo thanked him and got into the jet.
—
It was late on a sunny afternoon when Alonso got to Italy, his home. He missed the atmosphere, and the air was not usually as tense as Russia was.
Most of all, he had missed his mate.
“You’ve arrived so soon?”
Alyona’s familiar voice shrieked in excitement. She hugged him, sniffing the scent that she had missed so much. He leaned on the door of the car.
“Ah, yes. I could not wait any longer to be close to you,” Alonzo confessed truthfully to her.
“Are you still up for the–”
“Date? Yes!” said Alonzo sharply. “I know. I made a promise, and I always keep my promises. It’s a surprise, though; I’ll have my driver pick you up at eight p.m., okay?”
” Umm, are you going somewhere?” Alyona asked, surprised at how he sounded.
“Yes, we have a big game coming up next tomorrow.”
“What game?”
“Horse racing,” Alonzo replied.
“I never knew you enjoyed horse racing,” Alyona said, truly awed.
“You’d be surprised about the tons of things you don’t know about me.”
“You’ll amaze me a lot if you tell me you’re the jockey!”
“I have a passion for riding horses but not professionally, so no, I’m not the jockey!” Alonzo said, wondering if she would be disappointed.
“Alright,” she said sweetly, “So why do you need to be there? You should rest; you just got back!”
“I need to be there at the stables when they go in and treat the horse to keep a closer watch on the veterinarians. Those mother fuckers could get paid to poison my horse to rig the race. Many people are betting on my horse to win, but they stand to gain more if my horse loses.”
“Sure, do what you have to!” Alyona said in a sing-song voice and added, “See you later then.”
Immediately after she bade him farewell, he turned to his driver with a raised brow.
“Is everything ready?” Alonzo asked, and the man nodded briefly. “Good, it must go according to plan. I want this date to be perfect.”
“Yes, sir!” replied the man. “We are going to the stables, correct?”
“Yeah, yeah, take me there.”
“Okay,” responded the driver. He expertly reversed the car before getting it to head out of the compound.
…..
It was a few minutes until eight p.m., and Lady Tanya was assisting Alyona in getting dressed. She wore a killer embroidery gown that would make people’s necks turn.
“You look perfect,” said Lady Tanya earnestly.
“Thanks, I didn’t realize I was this beautiful!” Alyona said.
“And to add to that beauty, I got you something!” Alonzo said, starting her.
“Baby! You’ve got a knack for showing up on time!” Alyona said, kissing him, and Lady Tanya lowered her gaze, excusing them.
“Turn around,” Alonzo said, almost as if he were commanding Alyona, and she obeyed. She watched him through the mirror as he helped her put on the necklace he had gotten for her. She smiled at how beautiful it was on her.
“You didn’t have to get this, you know,” Alyona said, placing her fingers on the necklace as she admired it.
“You are most welcome,” Alonzo said, smiling as his eyes continued to trail the curve of her body on the dress.
“Thank you, Alonzo,” she gave him a childish look as she leaned in to place a k**s on his cheek.
“Are you ready to go?” he turned his eyes away from her body and pointed them towards the door.
“Fancy,” she commented as she moved with his hands on her waist.
“So tell me, how was Italy while I was gone?” Alonzo asked, trying to start up a conversation between them.
“I won’t lie,” she said, shrugging. “It was great, but it’s nothing compared to when you’re around. Lady Tanya kept me company the most. Alonzo, can I ask you for a favor?”
“Hmm, what is it?”
“I’d appreciate it if Lady Tanya stuck to just making meals. Could you hire someone else to take care of the cleaning?”
“Of course, Lady Tanya would stick to the kitchen. Coincidentally, I was thinking about hiring more staff at the office, and my consigliere feels I should promote my secretary. Maybe you should work for me. What do you say?”
“You’re joking!” Alyona said as they took the last flight of stairs.
“I’m not-“
“Wow, the both of you look nice!” Mazza said as he entered the living room. He had seen Alonzo earlier at the stables, and he was returning now. Alonzo hadn’t mentioned that he was going on a date.
“Thank you,” they chorused.
Mazza was the jockey, but Alonzo didn’t want to tell Alyona yet; he had wanted to use that to surprise her.

The waiter walked up to them and asked for their orders. They named what they would like, and he immediately left them to get their meals brought to them.
“Russia was all work and no play,” Alonzo sighed, slouching lowly on the chair and keeping his eyes on his date.
“Hmm, tell me about it! I heard that your candidate won the election.”
“Yes, we did win the election,” said Alonzo. He remembered his date with Mariyanna.
“How did that even happen?”
“We got lucky, that’s all!” Alonzo said.
A few minutes later, they abandoned all talk about work. Alonzo told her about his upbringing as an only child in Switzerland. He mentioned that what he wanted most, a brother, he had later found in Piccolo. She regrettably recalled visiting Switzerland with her father on a few occasions, and Alonzo apologized for killing her father again. She interrupted him and said she had forgiven him. They talked about how easy it was to spot wolves in Switzerland. Alyona almost gave him a brief account of when she saw a wolf in Switzerland, but it got away before she could show it to her father. However, she refrained from telling him the story because she didn’t want to bring up the subject of her father during their date again so as not to make the moment awkward.
Their food arrived, and they started to eat, enjoying the silence between them. Alonzo loved what she was wearing, but he hated that he had to be so patient with her. All he wanted to do was call off the date and take her home, only to rip the dress off her body.
“I’m glad you’re back, Alonzo,” the way she called his name made him release a low growl.
“I’m glad I can have you close to me too,” he smirked. His breathing paused when she brought out her tongue to lick her bottom l*p.
“What?” Alyona asked, dumbfounded.
“Nothing! Why?” Alonzo brought back his eyes to meet with her.
“You are staring at me like you want to devour me,” although she meant it innocently, he found it the most naughty thing he had heard all day.
He was quiet, clenching hard on his teeth and listening to her heartbeat quicken as she became cautious of how he was staring at her.
“Maybe that’s what I want; I want to devour you till you cry,” he said in a slurry whisper, but she could hear him.
Alyona choked on her drink at his comment, coughing to clear her throat and not embarrass herself.
His eyes had darkened, and she could almost feel the tension coming from him.
“How about we call this date a night then,” she whispered back, dropping her eyes to pick her fingers nervously.
“Waiter!” Alonzo yelled.
…..
The bedroom door shut quickly behind her, and soon Alyona was slammed against it. Not giving her a moment to catch her breath, Alonzo pressed his lips harshly against her, taking them in like he had been yearning for them for far too long–which he had.
“Alonzo,” his name fell right out of her mouth.
“Say it one more time like that, and you won’t walk straight tomorrow,” he growled, gripping her thighs and raising her legs to wrap around his waist.
She returned every k**s with equal demand from him, digging her fingers into his hair as his lips moved down to her neck.
