Chapter 45: Truth Or Dare 

Alvin's POV:

I finally got to ask Tessa out for dinner and she agreed to let me pick her up.I was already at her doorearlier than expected.

But I waited until the clock struck six exactly to knock.Patricia was with Tessa inside.

Before she left, she tapped me and said, "Enjoy your dinner, Beta!"

That was weird.But that was Patricia.She was always strange and unpredictable.

Tessa was wearing a black dress that fit her perfectly.

I also happened to be wearing an all-black outfit.I asked her to take a picture with me.

We looked so good together in the picture! When Tessa accepted me as her mate, I would post this onFacebook for sure.

I wanted to let the whole world know about her.

However, Tessa was still acting so cold and even went against me when ordering food.Her harsh tonemade me uncomfortable at times.

When she talked about ice cream, my heart started to beat faster.

I didn't know whether I should tell her about Nancy.

Maybe I just didn't have enough courage to tell her everything.

"Well, I'm really sorry for causing trouble to you and your friend.Tell Nancy thank you for me, will you?"

When Tessa said Nancy's name, I thought I was hearing things.

It turned out that Tessa already knew about Nancy before I could even tell her.I should have just toldher.

The truth was that nothing happened between Nancy and me this morning.

My decision to hide it was a mistake and would now cause Tessa to misunderstand me.

"Wait, you...How do you know about Nancy? Tessa, I...Let me explain, please."

I stammered through my words from being nervous.

Tessa stared at me and didn't reply.I took the opportunity to tell her everything that happened thismorning.

To help prove the truth to my story, I showed her the call history on my phone.

"Wow! I'm sure you must have enjoyed those thrilling games of sex very much, right?"

"Tessa, I swear to you.Ever since I knew you are my mate, I have committed to giving up my oldlifestyle.I have never slept with another woman since I saw you."

"Okay, Beta Alvin, how about playing a game?"

When Tessa called me Beta Alvin, I knew she wasn't happy with me.I didn't want to play games.Iwanted to prove to her my innocence, but I had no choice.

"Fine, sounds good.What game do you want to play?"

"Truth or Dare!"

I wanted to refuse.

I used to fool around with women using those games.

Now I was the one who was being played by Tessa.

"You don't dare to play this game, do you?" Tessa raised a taunting eyebrow.

"Well, let's see! Bring it on, Tessa.You ask first." I was risking everything now.

"Okay.Truth or Dare?"

"Truth,"

"Tell me about your relationship with Dora and Doreen.Fuck, how did Tessa know about the twins? “

"I...dated them both before, but it was a misunderstanding.I was just going out with Dora at first.Shedidn't tell me that she had a twin sister.When I first met Doreen, I didn't realize that she wasn'tDora.Doreen didn't refuse my advances, either.Later on, the relationship got too complicated."

"Have you even been in a threesome with them?"

"This round is over, baby.Your turn now.Truth or Dare?"

"Sorry, Alvin.This round is over and it's your turn.Truth or Dare?"

"Dare this time!"

If I chose truth again, Tessa would definitely ask more about the twins.

I knew I wouldn't be able to keep these things from Tessa forever, but I should at least use somedelaying tactics.

"Okay.Call Doreen and ask her out now!"

"What?! Can I change to truth instead?"

"Fine, but this is your only chance.Have you been in a threesome with the twins?"

"I...Yes."

Tessa's face darkened immediately.She clenched her fists, obviously disgusted by this information.

"Tessa, are you...Shall we continue on?"

"Fine, go on!"

"Okay...I...I have no question for you now.You can just ask me any question."

"Don't you want to know if I had sex with my ex- boyfriend?"

"I do, but I decided that it doesn't matter to me anymore, Tessa.No matter what happened between youand other men in the past, it will not affect the way I feel about you."

Tessa stared at me, speechless.

After moments of silence, she finally spoke up again.

She brought up the news article that she read earlier.

"What? How can I suffer from premature ejaculation? That's simply impossible and slanderous!" Tessaburst out laughing.

"Of everything that was in the article, that's what you care about?"

"You're right.Well, forget what it says.The whole world can misunderstand me and gossip about me, butnothing matters as long as you believe me.Okay? Let's keep playing."

"No, I think the game's over now.We should head home, Alvin." Tessa's tone was gentle now.

It was the first time she had let go of her harsh tones.Tessa stayed silent the whole ride back.

When I walked her back to her room, I saw that she wanted to say something but hesitated, so I askedher directly instead.

"Is there something else you want to ask about me, Tessa?"

"Yes, actually.It's about you and Kate.What happened between the two of you?"

"Nothing.Nothing happened.She only tried to seduce me the night before the Luna Ceremony."

~Flashback~

The Luna Ceremony was hours away.I was working very late since I was tasked to be the head ofsecurity.I had to make sure that everything was ready for tomorrow.

As a Beta, it was my duty to protect the whole pack alongside the Alpha.I was running through myplans of security once again.

Once I was about to finish, I suddenly received a call from Kate.

She was threatening that if I wouldn't agree to meet her, something was going to go wrong withtomorrow's ceremony.

My instincts told me that she was just a troublemaking bitch who was all bark and no bite.So, I didn'ttake her seriously.

But then she said that she knew about Serena's identity.

Only then did I consider her an actual threat and asked her to come to my office.

"Hello, Beta Alvin.Long time no see."

Kate walked into my office, swaying her hips side to side in perfect rhythm.

"How do you know about Serena's identity? What do you know about it?"

I wasn't planning to waste time, so I was being straightforward.

"Oh, it doesn't matter, I guess."

"Why did you want to meet up with me?"

"I just miss you, that's all.My friends at the bar say that the Beta hasn't been having fun there recently."

She then snaked her hands around my neck.

"What do you think you're doing? Get out of my office if you have nothing to say to me!" I pushed herhands off of me.

"Don't you want to know how I got my knowledge on Serena's identity? Be nice to me, then."

"Don't play tricks on me, Kate.Get out."

In order to make sure that she wouldn't cause any more trouble inside the Maple House, I dragged herout of my office and escorted her downstairs myself.

I explained everything to Tessa.

"How do you know about all these women, Tessa?"

"I...have a list of all the women you've been spotted with.It has the names of the twins, Nancy, Kate,and others.I was even sent photos of you and the women."

"Was Patricia the one who gave it to you? Ugh, no wonder she was being strangely nice to me beforeleaving.I'll teach her a lesson when I see her."

"No, no.Don't do that.It's not Patricia's fault.I was the one who asked for it."

"Hmm, I get it.You need to understand a man's past before accepting him.That's what you wanted todo, right?"

Tessa pursed her lips and didn't answer.

I stepped forward and she leaned back against her door.

I was going to kiss her.

Slowly, I approached closer and closer, and she wasn't dodging me this time.
