Chapter 24

Vance's POV

"Oh my darling Skylar not to much longer now and you will be mine” Isay to myself as I was sitting at my desk looking at a picture of her. Ihave been sending notes at random. I have also been sending rogueswho have allied with me to their territory to camp there and watchthem until it is time for me to go and claim what is rightfully mine.Some of my pack members think I'm crazy going after someone whothey believe doesn't belong to me but she does.

My parents died when I was young and so I was raised by my unclewho was the alpha of the our pack which is the Midnight Pack. He was acruel man and he taught me everything I know and and made me theman I am today and I am grateful for him. He used to tell me a story ofa very rare wolves called Hell Hounds, they were the strongest, fiercesttypes of wolves that ever lived. Until one day when an Alpha wentcompletely power hungry and crazy and sought them out to take oneas his mate but he was so crazed and everyone refused him heslaughter nearly every single one of them almost making them extinct.A few got away and hid themselves away from the world so that theywouldn't be hunted and killed because of what they were. After hearingso many stories about them I knew I wanted to have one as my mate tohave her bear my children and adding the Hell Hound bloodline to myown to strengthen it and make future generations better and stronger.Skylar's POV

We have been receiving threat after threat and the rogues have beenattacking more and more lately as well over these past 3 months. Mybelly has been growing at a steady rate, I am now 8 and a half monthspregnant and the doctor says that I am due any day now seeing as mybaby girl is healthy now it's just a waiting game. We still don't knowwho this Vance person is but he is determined to get me and claim meas his own no matter what. I am scared for what is to come once I havemy baby girl, I don't want anything bad to happen to her or to mymate. No one knows that I am thinking about handing myself over afterI have my baby so that no one gets hurts but I know Jace will try tostop me and our daughter needs at least one of us.

Everyone has been on edge lately with everything that is going on. Jaceand I are sitting in the kitchen having dinner talking and just enjoyingour time together. I stand up and put my dishes in the dishwasherwhen I suddenly feel liquid running down my legs. I look up at Jacewith fear and excitement in my eyes.

"I think my water just broke" I say to Jace

"Really are you sure?” Jace asks me looking concerned. As I'm standingthere about to say something when I feel a slightly painful pressure gothrough my abdomen and I realize it's a contraction.

"Yes I'm sure seeing as I just had a contraction. I'm in labor our babygirl is finally going to be here" I say holding the counter.

"Baby get our stuff and get the car ready we need to go to the packhospital” I say looking at him as another contraction goes through mybody making me slightly clench my jaw. Jace runs out of the room andgrabs mine and the baby's bag that we had prepared before hand forthis kind of situation,

Once the car was ready Jace came back to the kitchen to help to the carseeing as I didn't trust myself to walk without some support. Once wegot in the car Jace sped to the pack hospital which only took us 10minutes even though to me it felt like forever.

He parks and grabs our bags before helping me inside and into awheelchair so I didn't have to walk anymore. A nurse comes over to usand brings us to a room and helps make sure I'm as comfortable as Ican get before she leaves to go and get the doctor. About 10 minutesof laying there sweating and gritting my teeth through everycontraction while I hold onto Jace's hand making him wince every nowand then from the amount I'm squeezing it.

"It's okay baby girl I'm right here. Everything is going to be alright” Jacesays to me as he strokes my hair trying to help me through this the bestthat he can.

"I love you so much Sky" he says in my ear as another contractioncomes and goes.

"I love you too baby" I say back to him through shallow breaths. Thenthe doctor finally comes in to see how everything was progressing andit was finally time for me to start pushing. After another 20 minutes ofcontractions and pushing my baby girl was finally here and she wasperfect. I layed there with her in my arms staring down at our perfectlittle girl. She had my facial features and her fathers beautiful light blueeyes and she had a mix of blonde and black hair making her veryunique like her parents.

I hand her to Jace and watch as he holds her cooing and bouncing heras he walked around the room. As I watched Jace holding our babyexhaustion from being in labor for so long had finally consumed meand dragged me down into the darkness. I awoke a couple hours laterto people talking in the room. I wake up and see a bunch of people inmy room all talking and arguing about who gets to hold our little girlnext. I lay there watching the spectacle before I laugh making everyoneshift their attention to me.

"You're finally awake" I hear Jace say from the doorway. When I lookover to him I see him holding some to go bags of food and my mouthstarts to water as my stomach growls at the smell. Jace laughs andwalks over to me and gives me my food before turning to the giveeveryone else their food and grabbing our baby while everyone eatsand chitchats.

"So have you guys thought of a name for the little one?" Lucy asks"Yeah we would love to know it or are we supposed to call her the babyor little one forever?” Jasper asks with a smirk making everyone laugh."She has a name we decided it a couple weeks ago we just never toldanyone” I say to them between bites.

"So are you guys going to tell us or not?" Alex asks impatiently. I smileand look at Jace and nod my head to him to tell them.

"Okay everyone we would like to introduce you to Lilith Ophelia Miller.You can call her Lilith or Lily for short.” Jace tells them. They all look ather with adoration and love in their eyes.

"It's perfect and suits her well" Lucas says taking her from Jace so hecould eat.

I had to stay at the hospital for a few days to make sure everything wasokay with Lilith and I. We finally get discharged and on our way back tothe pack house so I can relax and put Lily to bed in her crib. When wefinally pull up to the house the air is stiff and there seems to be an oddelectricity in it putting me on edge. We get our things and head insideas a warrior puts our stuff into my room and I go and put Lilith in hercrib before I go to Jace's office and see what the hell is going on. Assoon as I walked in it went eerily quiet, as I walk over and sit on Jace'slap and place the monitor on his desk I look at Lucas his beta and hehas a grim expression on his face. The look he had on his face made acold chill run down my spine and an uneasy feeling in the pit of mystomach telling me I was not going to like what they had to tell me.
