Chapter 54

Jace's POV

I was on my way back from the Mystic Pack knowing that we are officialallies now and since it didn't take as long as I thought it was going to Iwas able to leave earlier then I thought and head back home. I was halfway home when I stopped for the night so that I didn't fall asleepbehind the wheel. I woke up early the next morning and got on theroad to finish my journey home since I was very eager to get back tomy family.

I sped the entire way back making it back in half the time it would'vetaken me. I parked in front of the house and got out it was lateafternoon early evening when I walked into the house but somethingwas off.

"Skylar, Lilith I'm home" I called out but no one answered back. Anxietycoursed through my veins as I ran throughout the house to look forthem thinking maybe they were sleeping but no, no one was in thehouse and their scents weren't as strong. Panic surged through me asmy mind starting to wonder and throw scenarios around at why theyweren't here so I decided to try and link my mate and see if I couldreach her and replace out where she was.

“Skylar baby I'm home early and at the house where are you? Pleasebaby let me know where you are I'm starting to worry that somethinghappened please answer me baby girl’ I link her panicked

I'm glad your back early but we need to talk and it's important. Jasperand I are at the pack hospital with Lilith so come here and I'll haveJasper bring you to the room so we can talk’ She linked back soundingvery sad and defeated. I ran out of the house and ran the entire way tothe pack hospital and sure enough Jasper was waiting outside for mewith a sad look in his eyes. We walked in silence as he brought me tomy mate and daughter. I walked in the room and seen Skylar sitting onthe edge of the hospital bed looking sadly down at our little girlsleeping away in the bed. I could see the silent tears that were spillingout of her eyes as she watched Lilith sleep.

I walked over to her and wrapped her into a hug as she turned andsobbed into my chest letting everything she had bottled up inside out. Irubbed soothing circles up and down her back while she cried andeventually they subsided. Skylar pulled away sniffling looking up at mewith such sad eyes before she cleared her throat and spoke to me and Iwas not expecting what she had to tell me.

"Jace it's Lilith she's not doing good. Lucas attacked again after you hadleft he got a vamp to come and grab Lilith and lure Jasper and I to himas he held our little girl. He had bitten her putting more venom into herto get us there. once we found them he taunted us as he held herbefore he bit into her again releasing even more venom into hersystem. Jasper brought her here as soon as the vamp let her go as Itook off after him and killed him." she told me. I just stood thereholding her as she told me what all happened while I was gone.

"Jasper and I left her here since she was asleep still so we went home toeat and shower and sleep but yesterday was eventful because Lucasshowed up at our door. Jasper held me back as Lucas taunted and saidwhy he did what he did to us and then he thought he was going to getaway unharmed but he was wrong. I gave him a 5 second head startbut I caught up to him and we fought before I caught him and draggedhis sorry ass back to the house and had him thrown in a cell in silverchains with an injection of wolfsbane. I was there earlier as I beat theliving shit out of him until he passed out and then I showered and camehere to see Lily since she still hasn't woken up. I've been here for about10 minutes before you linked me asking where we were, the doctorshave been running all kinds of tests but they don't know why she hasn'twoken up since she isn't under sedation anymore. They figure theamount of vampire venom in her system is still keeping it in shock andthat's why she hasn't woken up yet, also since the increase of venom inher system it has increased everything else meaning that her life hasbeen shortened even more now and we don't know how long she haswith us anymore everything is now very uncertain considering theydon't think she will wake up and if she does it will be a miracle andeveryday that she wakes up will be a miracle since she should have diedwhen she first got injected when I was taken the day after she wasborn." Skylar got out through gritted teeth and choked back sobs. Myheart was breaking for my mate and for the fact that we no longerknew how much longer we had with out little girl making each andevery moment we have with her if we get any more all the moreprecious and cherished.

I was furious when I found out that my little girl was attacked again andhow it was my ex-beta's fault. The only good news that I heard was thathe was caught and in the cells chained up with silver and gettingwolfsbane injections just like Sky endured during her imprisonment. Iwas so furious that I went to the cells and looked in at the bastard thathad started all of this, he was still unconscious but I could see what Skydid to him and I was so proud of her for doing it knowing that she wasthe one who needed it the most. I just stared at him with so muchanger and hatred and loathing but I wasn't going to touch him at all hispunishments were going to be delivered by Skylar and her alone sinceshe is the one who endured the most other then Lilith.

As I was exiting the cells I got a mind link from Skylar telling me thatLilith still wasn't awake and that she was heading to the house to eatand sleep while Jasper sat with her. I walked back to the house to waitfor her since I was closer and would make it back before her. Once backI went to the kitchen and started to make my mate some food knowingshe had to eat whether she wanted to or not. I just finished makingsome chicken and pasta when Skylar walked and made her way to thekitchen following her nose considering I knew she couldn't resist mychicken and pasta.
