The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 104 Book 2 Chapter 36
Zillon’s hand climbed it’s way to her stomach, settling at the bottom of it. “Then it could be that he really wasn’t lying.”
“What do you mean?”
“Dizziness and vomitting are common symptoms of pregnancy…when did you say they started?”
“About a..a week after I left.”
“And what else?”
Celeste shrugged. “Nothing…I just…well apart from that, I cried for you. Every night, no matter how much I tried not to.”
“Oh yeah?”
Celeste nodded. “And Xavier was there to console me every single time. I know you don’t want me to, but I want to see him…I at least have to apologize for lying, for leading him on, for breaking my prom—”
“You don’t need to apologize for anything, he’s the one that needs to apologize to you. You never lied to him, he lied to you, he played you Kitten and even now you’re still in his game.”
“But he couldn’t have, he was too nice and gentle to be like that. He was true, I’m sure of it…and I…I’m the evil one, he’ll probably be heartbroken enough to cry when I tell him that I chose to get back with you.”
“I saw him with my own eyes, Celeste. He’s my brother, I love him like I love myself…I would never tell lies on him and moreover, I’d never lie to you.”
“But h—”
“Are you doubting me for him, Celeste?”
“No…it’s just…it’s hard to believe.”
“If you trusted me, then you wouldn’t have a problem believing.”
“But I do trust you…”
“Anything you say, Celeste” He shifted beneath her and Celeste bit her lips to stop herself from whimpering. “Anything you say.”
“You’re making it sound like you don’t really believe that I trust you.”
“Because I don’t, but anyways as soon as my knot withdraws…we can go back to my house…sure we’ll smell like two wolves who just f*cked when in fact we did, but nobody will care.”
“I will…”
“And that’s why you shouldn’t have seduced me in a place like this.”
“I-I didn’t.”
“You did, baby and you had done so ten years ago too.”
“I didn’t seduce you, but how did you replace out it was me? You were so convinced that it was Celia…”
“I finally decided to use my brains…it was so obvious that I now think I’m stupid.”
“I should’ve told you…perhaps if I said it from the beginnin—”
“I wouldn’t have believed you…I was after all a piece of sh*t.”
He swiped her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead when the knot started to retract. “I’m going to be a better piece of sh*t though…after this.”
Celeste gripped his shoulder as she glared at him, her lips between her teeth as pain scourged her. She hated this, she really did and everytime she thought Zillon changed his dirty ways, she learned the hard way that he didn’t.
This wicked man…
The pain didn’t last long though, in a matter of seconds, the retraction was over and slowly he pulled of her, leaving her with a feeling of emptiness. “You’re cruel…”
“I know sweetheart, I won’t be doing it again if it is confirmed that you’re carrying my pup, and after going to the pack doctor, I’ll show you that I never lied and will never lie to you. I’ll show you his true colours, only then will you really believe me.” He lifted her out of his lap, then stood to his feet. “Can you walk back on your own? Or must I lift you?”
“Can we go for a run before going back…I haven’t transformed in my wolf form for so long that I feel restless. I won’t run off like I did last time and you’ll be there with me.”
Zillon gave her an indecisive look before nodding. “Alright, we’ll run to the edge of the north borders…that’s the safest part, nobody died there as of late.”
“What do you mean as of late? Has the pack members been dying?”
Zillon nodded. “Every night there’s an untraceable death…there are many men on patrol and even when there’s b***d we can’t smell it…I really don’t know why Xavier’s doing this, or how…but I have to put a stop to it. I thought that now that he’s imprisoned it’d stop, but the very night I locked him up, there were two deaths, one at the south border…somewhere near here and the other not far from the west.”
“But why would Xavier do that? He isn’t evil, Zillon…he wouldn’t order his pack to kill people, Gabriel is —in a sense— his beta and Gabriel wouldn’t do anything like this.”
“That’s what they made you believe, as I said, you’d see his true colours soon.”
“Alright…” Celeste grumbled, but even as she said it, she was having some doubts. What motives would Xavier have to order his men to kill Zillon’s pack members?
And now that Xavier’s behind bars, why would they continue?
Celeste was confused and lost, but she ignored it and instead turned to Zillon. “It’s time now, right?”
“Ye…let’s change in three… One…two…”
Both Celeste and Zillon crouched, starting the transformation without a single mutter of the number called three. In less than a minute, Zillon’s skin was covered in dark gray fur and Celeste’s in white…
And straight into the woods both of them sped off.
